I'd like to see a full house. I'd like to call the meeting of the Liberty County Board of Commissioners to order. Mr. Mosley, has the meeting been properly advertised? Yes, sir. I think I see evidence there. Would you, sir, be so kind as to lead us in our invocation and our pledge? Please stand, if you will, audience, for our invocation and our pledge.
We're going to get one of these days. Mr. Mayor, I'm glad you may have had a chaplain in your group. I'll remember that next time. If not, get them ready. Get them ready. Get ready, get ready, get ready. All right. We move right on. Good to see everyone again. It's good to make presentations and to recognize folk for various reasons. Today we have... Three different recognitions, one for our Youth Commission. Mr. Murray's gonna direct that. Then we have some graduates for leadership classes are here. Congratulations to that group. And then we have a new District Attorney in the Atlanta Judicia
I know y'all just recently organized, but is there a spokesman for the group?
Say hello to what it means for you all to be in this group.
Thank you, very well done. All righty. Are they ready? Are you going to raise your right hands? I'm going to say aye, then you say your name starting with that young man on the end, and we're going to go all the way down. That's Lomax. Aye. I'm going to say aye, then everybody's going to say their name individually. Your whole name. Your whole name, okay? All right.
Do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support, uphold, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. and the laws thereof, that I will support, uphold, and defend the Constitution and laws of the state of Georgia, not inconsistent therewith. Good job. That I will observe and obey the laws and ordinances of Liberty County, Georgia, that I will faithfully perform and discharge the duties incumbent upon me as a member of the Liberty County Youth Commission fairly, honestly, and to the best of my skill and my ability. So help me God. Ladies and gentlemen, please greet our newest g
Murray, when the pitch is done, have them come around and shake their hands. They'll come around this way and exit that way. We got to talk, right? Give a hand of encouragement again. They're on their way. Shipley Academy graduation and certificate presentation.
Are they gone already? They're gone. As the chairman said, they are off and on their way.
And they'll do the same as the children, just make a line.
All right. You can't let the young people outdo you. Who's your class spokesperson?
We'll do the same. Kimmo, we'll stand up. If you guys will bring it in a little bit so they can get the group picture. Then you also going to come around to the podium.
Oh, okay. Oh, man. I just come around and my mom can't help me.
Thank you, sir. Ladies and gentlemen, just a few days ago, it was the changing of the guard, I guess you would say. in the District Attorney's position. District Attorney Nelson served us for several years and served us well, and then he's transitioned or has been moved on to another position as Superior Court Judge, and to replace him is someone that most of us know very well, none other than Mr. Richard Braun. So we congratulate him and come and say hello to us, sir, Mr. D.A. We watch him grow up.
I am proud to see a local young man grow up Went off, educated himself, and returned, and like you said, this is going to be where you want to land at. I'm very proud of you, and Liberty County will be proud of you.
Okay. I was going to ask you to talk about your journey, but you just did here.
Let us know how we can help you, my friend.
Now, Mr. D.A. Come on up and let's get a picture with him. All right. Come around here. That's good.
All right. Thank you, Mr. Deer, once again. You're happy to let us know. Sheriff Office Quality Report, Chief Deputy Hagan, and support team.
Do we have it electronically, too, or no, just to? That way our audience can. Mr.
I'm going to ask you about trends. Any trends you've noticed?
Sir. Major, I know you didn't come prepared for this one, but I'm just going to ask the question. Out of your citations that's written, what percentage of each dollar actually comes to the Board of commissioners.
Okay. I was just, I wanted to make sure that was put out.
So this same percentage go across the board from Liberty County Sheriff's Department, GSP, and what you call it?
Okay. Uh, sure. If I was at least with Williams communication.
After the three-year lifespan of the radios, then are you able to trade these in also? We'll need to.
Major. You stopped bopping in the middle. Major. The, uh...
The distance in communication, are they about compatible with the, what was it we had there, Apex 600?
Okay. Good. All right. Mr. Chairman, take a motion.
Second to the motion. Second. A favor show of hands, please. Red Speed was funded. Thank you, gentlemen.
So two years running, we've had A good year. Maybe three, but I know definitely two years. The commission should be congratulated for that.
That's gravy to what we already were talking about.
Remember when I was doing COVID time for whatever reason. No one figured that out yet other than people home ordering stuff.
Mr. Smith. Yes, sir. We know the status of Reichsburg, right? So if they come on. Go ahead, Mr. Moseley.
But that's not this. I think he's questioning the red for the youth.
Is Flemington waste still going across our scales?
They're talking about the agreement we had with Flemington, which is not like what they—we didn't have anything with Walcottville. So they—how did that happen to fall through the cracks?
But we have our agreements with Flemington that they would send their stretchers, not Walthaus. Not Walthaus. Unless you're with Walthaus, he'll send theirs. Right.
But... Mayor Bala is aware of that, of the glitch with the contractor. Do you know? I'm not sure, sir.
OK. Thank you, Ms. Samantha. Thank you all. Thank you. I request a contract with Goodwin Mills, K. Wood. I'm sorry, Trent Long. Yeah. Trent Long. Trent Long.
I'll try to get through pretty quick. I got eight questions. I got eight of them. All right.
I'm going to let you go by that. OK. Wait a minute. Have we gotten any response from the midway on what we talked about the other day?
Likewise, my friend. Likewise. All right, sir.
We need to bring it back before the auditor.
Future. Future capacity. Future capacity.
on that, you reading that first paragraph, sir? Background?
It's on here? Uh-huh. See on the background?
Mr. Moser. Chief. At what point do you look at to say we spent X amount of dollars comparing to what a new facility would cost, you know, would you say you spend $20 to fix a spot here, next week you spend $20 more. At what point do you say, okay, this is enough?
Yeah, I forgot. Atlanta area? Yeah, but they have a Savannah office. Yeah.
All good? All right. Chair, intend a motion. Motion. Second. Second. We move on with the contract with Goodwin Mills-Caywood for the jail assessment. Any further discussion?
I did. Uh-uh. Oh. What you doing behind my back, man?
Chair, I'm proud of y'all tonight, by the way.
