Here. Okay, guys, you guys understand. It's all on YouTube. Okay. We are going to start tonight. Welcome to our pre-council meeting September 14th at four o'clock with a presentation from the MGT group. Rodney Crane.
That is what we're doing. That is what we're doing. I mean, that was, if you heard Kale's preference and then you heard Rodney, I mean, that is, like, this is not tied to this budget at all. I understand. At all. It is not tied to this budget.
Can I say by attrition, not by layoffs, no layoffs by attrition. So at some point in time, if that dispatcher leaves. Is that something that, that those responsibilities can be transferred to someone who's already sitting there or a desk Sergeant? Yeah. So not no layoffs at all, or in this case, potentially another department.
I think we'll hear tomorrow when we hear from all the department heads. So again, untying these two because these are untied. But I will tell you, I think we're going to hear tomorrow. You know, Cale's been working with the department heads on this. Right.
I have a question. Were you at the game on Saturday night? I wasn't. Were you watching the game on Saturday night?
Did you hear the celebration from the stadium wherever you were in Austin?
Well, thank you so much. Thank you all. Thank you so much.
All right. Moving on to our old business agenda. All right. Item 230726, request for consideration to limit locations on EV charging stations brought to us from Chief Broadhead. We are going to carry that over without objection. um next item 2208 26 request to annex property at 1587 mountain gap drive into homewood brought just from mr siegrist we are going to carry that item over without objection our staff is doing due diligence on that so we will continue to carry that item over Let's see, next item is 250826, Discussion and Consideration of Proposed City Manager Evaluation Procedures and E
I heard at the last retirement they were like, you're next, Devo. I heard that. Okay, so we will need to vote on that tonight at City Council next door at 6 o'clock. Thank you for that. Next item, 020926, a request for permission to approve an independent contractor agreement with Fisk Signs and Murals brought to us from Mr. Smith. Brian, I think you have a... There we go.
GM 750. 741. 702. Anyway, it's going to go there.
This is a part of the Centennial's committee work.
We will not vote on this tonight. So we can wait until the 28th to vote on this since he is not going to get started until November. We originally tried to, um, have it on the schedule for September.
Good question. No. Good question. No. It's cause we have a contract with him.
I will see Mayfield on there. That was one of the reasons. You may remember the mural discussion from years ago. We don't have mural proofs.
Okay. Mr. Mural? We'll talk about it offline. Okay, we'll talk about it offline. Okay, well, we will carry this item over without... All right. Okay, next. Okay, I got a lot coming up that are contracts that we're all going to be needing Cale to sign, so bear with me. All of these are coming out tonight. The first, 030926, request for permission to authorize the city manager to sign the contract with Doreen Mayhew for fiscal year 25 audit services.
Okay. Next item, 040926, request for permission to authorize the city manager to sign a contract with Dora Mayhew for fiscal year 26 audit services. Mr. Smith?
Okay, next item, 050926, request for permission to authorize the city manager to sign a contract with Dora Mayhew for non-attest services.
Yep, and I need you both. I'm going to need a second, I'm going to need a motion and a second for each item. Let's see. There's a resolution. Oh, there's a resolution.
So 25 has probably already been paid, but we're just cleaning up the name. Most of it is probably already been paid.
Got you. Okay. Okay. We're going to leave off. Do we get through to our menu? Okay. Yeah, we're on 06. 06, okay. 06-0926, request for permission to authorize the city manager to sign a contract with Trane Intelligent Services, Mr. Smith.
All right. Next item, request for permission. I'm sorry, it was 70926, a request for permission. the city manager to sign a contract with the Homewood Board of Education for SRO reimbursement, Mr. Smith?
All right, next item is 080926, a request for permission to authorize the city manager to sign a contract with Axon Enterprises. Mr. Smith, these are the tasers.
All right. And that needs to come out tonight. And this last, this item, the next item does not a contract. This is for Amy. 090926, a request to amend the existing easement at 117, 121, 125, and 129 Hall Avenue.
Any questions for Amy? Amy don't go anywhere. Next item, 100926, a request to install speed cushions on Hamba Avenue between Columbiana Road and Dixon Avenue and on Dixon between Broadway and Hamba.
We have a record of everything on there. Yeah, I think Brian's made a button, I think, on the website, right? It's its own button, isn't it?
And this is not coming out tonight. So this is just not coming out tonight. But thank you, Amy. Any more questions for her on this? I will tell you. I know Dixon is going to be really happy. I've been asking for a long time, so I know they're going to be very happy about that. Okay, next item, 110926, request for consideration of rescinding ordinance 1883 related to restricted parking on 18th Street, Councilor Lane.
That's where Chief Bresnan used to park. Chief Bresnan used to park there, too. Back in the day. Not Bresnan. Not Bresnan. Matter of fact, I did talk to TrackShack.
that probably then they'll have to do some loading and loading on 18th Street. So I just put that out there.
I will also tell you that Jeff Tanner complained to me about that. I guarantee you. I mean, not recently, but in the past.
Well, and also, eventually, like, we had, it was in the capital budget, but we struck, you know, we pulled a lot out of the capital budget to kind of tighten up on the budget, but we had talked about putting, you know, 12 parking, angling and, you know, taking out that middle turn lane and adding parking spaces. So that, we were looking at that for parking. So that can be a later capital project down the road when we know more about the funds. So in that same vein, it's in that same spot.
Jay, that's it. So we can vote on this. We can have the first reading on September 28th? Okay, we'll have the first reading on September 28th. How's that?
Well, I know she's got a new sign up. I noticed you got a new sign that says no parking.
It looks nice, too, because it's got a border on it.
But we'll have frustrating on September 20th. Thank you. Okay. all righty 120926 a request for permission to authorize city manager to execute a contract with the chamber of commerce uh did this not need to this does not need to come out tonight it's not coming out tonight uh for fiscal year 26 27 mr smith yes can i talk about this one and then go back and i think i figured out the mural okay earlier okay i'll talk the contract is 74 000 with the chamber of commerce okay um That's our budgeted amount they get.
I'll be sharing the floor with the fire. I love it. It's amazing.
She's been communicating with Sean. Sean's a busy guy and travels a lot.
So all that's going to be packaged up. She's been communicating with Derek Walchek, too, and they obviously are on board.
All right, let's see, okay almost done y'all getting close Okay, next item this does need to come out tonight, please 1309 to six a request to accept grant award from Jefferson County Commissioner Boland Community grant
All right. Thank you, Amy. And this item also needs to come out tonight. This is 14 0 9 2 6, a request for permission to authorize the city manager to execute an OPEB trust agreement with Synovus pinnacle. Mr. Smith.
And this is post-employment benefits for our former employees.
Which we've not had. We've had in general fund, but in order to improve our bond rating, they like to see a separate OPEB account. So it's fiscally best practices.
And we will vote on this tonight. Okay, last item for pre-council, guys. We did it. Okay. 150926, a request to consider a new spend platform. Chief Broadhead.
Thanks chief. All right, folks, that is it. Um, you may notice we added at least 10 items, so it's going to be a long night over there. So thank you all so much for hanging in there and.
