Well, it has been a breath of fresh air to have someone who's meticulous in everything that you do. You work a lot of extra hours. That's obvious because I get emails at 9, 10 o'clock at night, which is good. It's good. But you're always on the job, and your team is always behind you, and you guys have done an excellent job also, and we're grateful for that. It saves the county a lot of money, but it makes things work better. efficiently, and if there's a legal issue, we've got our DA and assistant DAs here who back you and back us, and that's important, and it shows in the way we conduct busi
And she shared with me too. She'll do it every year.

I'll make a motion. Mr. Phillips makes the motion. I have a second. I'll second. Let's go make a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. Thank you all. Okay, Ms. Carrie Sharp and all the team that she brought with her this morning, a good-looking bunch of young ladies.
I'll make that motion. Thank you. I'll second it. I have a motion. I have a second by Commissioner Phillips. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carried. Okay, y'all come up here. We need a picture and... When y'all want to hold this, you hold this. Get in the middle there. There you go. All right, ready?
Did you get it? Okay. Thank y'all very much. It's interesting their conversation at breakfast this morning. A lot of good leadership here, and I want y'all to continue on with your dreams and hopes, and you'll do great. Maybe some of y'all will be sitting up here. I hope so.
Breakfast was good. Word, Tandy. Ms. Tandy, discuss, consider, and adopt the resolution for re- recognizing September the 15th is 2026 as National Voter Registration Day in Coffman County, Texas. Good morning, Andy.
How many registered voters do we have in the county?
So we have about a population of 220,000?
And what percentage on an average vote in midterms?
Yes, but you're out there doing a lot of things to get people registered too.
Right. Well, we appreciate all that you do because you're always busy bringing us all the new innovation and trying to help us make things move smoothly. Absolutely. That's appreciated. Guys, do you all have anything you want to? Thank you for the T-shirt.
You've done good. Okay, need a motion to approve. I'll make the motion. Mr. Moore makes the motion. Have a second? I'll second. Mr. Lane makes second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. Chuck. Discuss, consider, and approve agreement with UKG Kronos Systems LLC under Omnia Master Agreement number 24-6833 and related to order forms and addendum for UKG ready and UKG tele-staff services and authorized by the county judge to execute the same. Good morning, Judge.
Okay. Cliff, do you have anything to say? Yes.
So, okay, so we're talking about pay now and get the goods later.
Yeah, when we start using it, not during the time you're working on it.
Yeah, because we don't want the warranty to start until we get to use it. Like, I'm driving out of the car and want the warranty to start that day, not while you're building the car. And how long is the warranty for?
I think we need longer than 90 days because, I mean, there's a lot of learning in 90 days.
I don't have an issue with the upfront. I get that. I really don't like making payments when I don't have something I can use. And it's about $100,000 a year. What is it? $100,000.
Almost $200,000 total. Per year. Every year? Yeah. Every year?
And I think we need to work through that with your legal side. And you're going to be in charge of this, Cliff? Yes, sir. Okay. And I think that's what we need to do because everyone needs to be plain and simple. Here, it's one or two. Which one are you going to take? Let's go. Okay.
And I think when we met with Chuck and you guys, it was real clear what the product can do for us. It will save us money over the long time. Yes, absolutely. And so it's not like we're out roughly $200,000 a year for nothing. because we have issues with time right now with people fudging on. So it will alleviate not just that, but other things, too, as far as scheduling. So it's a good product.
And he's been working on this for a couple of years.
I don't have an issue with the up front.
So I guess the motion would be to go ahead and implement it with the understanding that you all get the warranty things worked out before any further payments are made.
Okay. Karen, you've got a question mark on your page.
The sooner the better. Yep. I'll make a call now.
So we're going to pass it until September. What's our meeting in September? 29th.
Yep. Okay. You all okay with that? Need a motion to move it to the 29th? I'll make a motion. Commissioner Lane makes the motion. Do I have a second? I'll second. Mr. Crow makes a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. I'm going to put this back on the 29th.
Thank you. There's more. Discuss, consider, accept the appointment of Troy Kelly to fill an unexpired term of Mike Covington to EDS 5 beginning 9-15 and ending on 10, I mean 12-31-26.
Steve knows Tim and I both, and I think he met me here. But anyway, I'll make a motion to appoint Troy for that position. Okay. Timmy won't be here today. Okay.
I'll second. There you go. We just got Tim on here.
I thought, what's going on here? I think Steve mixed us up. There's that twin thing going.
Well, you don't have Steve, so it's Tommy. Do I have a motion? Oh, you made the motion. Tommy made the motion. Do I have a second?
Mr. Crowe makes a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. Ms. Lorena? There she is. Discuss, consider, and approve the renewal of RFP 24-11, food services for Kauffman County Detention Center with five-star correction services for the renewal term October 1 of 26 through September 30 of 27 and the associated CPI-U price increase Effective October 1st of 26. Y'all all got those in your packet? Yes, ma'am.
Okay. Any discussion? No, I need a motion. I'll make a motion. Mr. Crowell makes a motion. Have a second? I'll second. Mr. Phillips makes a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. Okay, Mr. Commissioner Lane, discuss, consider, and approve the interlocal contract with the town of Portree for Kaufman County, County Road 249 between Hunt County Line and County Road 243 for potholes, edge repair for total project cost of $1,150.
Yeah, just a little work we're helping portray out with a little contract. I'll make a motion.
Okay. Commissioner Lane makes the motion. Do I have a second? Second. Mr. Moore makes a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. Number 11 is mine. Discuss, consider entering, exiting regular meeting and enter public hearing to discuss abandoning and vacating and closing a section of County Road 364 pursuant to section 251-058 of the Texas Transportation Code. I need a motion. I'll make a motion. Commissioner Lane makes the motion. Do I have a second? I'll second. Mr. Crow makes a second. All in favor say aye.
Motion carries. It is 935. We'll enter into a public hearing. Number 12. To receive input regarding abandoning, vacating, and closing a section of County Road 364, for 2,470 feet long and a width of 16 feet. That is boarded by landowners Jesse Patino and J.W. and Evelyn Williams pursuant to Section 251-058 of the Texas Transportation Code. Does anyone here want to speak on this?
I may need to make one change. The footage, I'm not correct. I think it was, there may be a little difference in the footage right there, but I know we have it down.
Yeah. So do you want to change that? I may, but let me get the correct footage on that. But I think it's like, I thought it was like 1,700 and something feet. I might be thinking about the front section, but. Do you want to postpone that? Not really. Not really. Let me. Do you have that paperwork with you? The paperwork. Oh, that may be what I'm looking at right there. Make sure I'm not making a mistake myself. Yeah, I want to make sure I'm correct. No, you're right. I'm thinking about the front section. Yeah, 2470. Okay. Yes, that's correct.
So there's no one else here to speak upon this item?
It's been basically closed down for going on 33 years anyway. Okay.
Since there's no one here to speak on it, then we'll move to number 12 to discuss exit public hearing and entering back into a regular meeting. 9-38, have a motion. Commissioner Lane, do I have a second? I'll second. Mr. Crowe makes a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion carries. Kelly Lane, discuss, consider, and approve the order to abandon, vacate, close the section of County Road 364 for 2,470 feet long and 16 foot wide. Then it is boarded by landowners Jesse Patino and J.W. and Evelyn Williams. Pursue it to section code 251-058. of the Texas Transportation Code. Commissioner Lane. Ye
