Do you have any other upcoming performances at the Hill?

That's one of my favorite ones, by the way. I saw it twice. Oh, that's great.

OK. And where were you positioned at? I'm just curious.

OK, so kind of a random sampling of who was there. Exactly.

Did you break down the number of who's going to go visit a business into the different cities who came and visited? Meaning, if they came from outside of Pleasant Grove, were they more or less likely to answer yes to that question, or are we just having Pleasant Grove people answer yes to that question? Does that make sense? Yeah, to the question number 30. You asked that to all of them. You asked everyone? Did you break it out as to like, okay, here's the percentage of Pleasant Grove citizens who said they would be more likely, they're going to go visit a business after the park, and here's all of the other cities, and what percentage of the other cities would go visit a Pleasant Grove business after the park?

What I'm saying, I'm thinking, yeah, I don't know. I could see Pleasant Grove people saying, well, I'm not going to go visit a business because I just live here. I'm just going to go home. But I could see, well, I'm here for the evening. I'm going to go grab dinner before I go home next. So I'm just curious as to, are the people we're bringing in the ones that are then patronizing, or are the people already here that are likely to go to Taco Migo anyway, are they the ones patronizing our business?

If you've got it, you can break it down.

I mean, I'm kind of thinking if it's July, a lot of people are on summer vacation, like, out of state and things like that, which makes sense. And then sometimes I feel like it's when something's in your own home. Like, I can kind of go anytime. So, you know, they might spread that out more, like, throughout the year. Maybe they summer, so they're on vacation as well here in Pleasant Grove. Yeah. So this does, like, make sense to me. I love this. I think it's awesome. It's good data. Thank you for doing that. Yeah, of course.

I said Eric, not the mayor. Eric, thank you.

You work for the office. See, so the office makes the difference, Neil.

A couple maybe updates. So the project on Mahogany Drive up there, it seems to be coming along. It's a pretty major project, it seems like. Could you get us an update on maybe the timing of that?

I had another question, and I don't know if this would be maybe combined for you, Dion, and even Chief Brown, but we have had a citizen come talk to me about the crossings between the Murdoch Canal path and across kind of our major streets, 11th, 5th, and 2nd, and how that can get a little bit sketchy with bikers who are just kind of flying through, even though I think there's a small stop sign for them. Yeah. He reported a couple of near misses from from that kind of happening. I mean, have you been able to look at that? What would be the appropriate action? I mean, maybe getting something pa

Then there was one other thing, and that is really close to my house. It's on 180, turns into Crescent. But in the part that was developed kind of before it was incorporated into Pleasant Grove, there's no sidewalks, very narrow road. It's very dark. And I don't know if, I know when we did that, the Blackhurst kind of development, there's that road that goes off, there may be a corner light there, but otherwise it's pretty dark. There was a lady that got hit by, as a pedestrian on that road and she was severely injured. I don't know if there's anything we could do to look at that and see if th

How much are they per light, just as kind of a ballpark?

I mean, I'd be interested in having a discussion to add a new line item for the budget for installation of new lights. I think that's a huge safety issue in our city, both not only with pedestrians, but also crime as well. And so I'd be in favor of talking about that sooner than later, getting a budget line item for that.

I do speak a little chat with a with one of the park employees who is I don't know who commissioned a pickleball study done at Discovery to see who is playing when Scott can you answer that okay let me tell you though why the hours he's there it's not accurate hours so between April and middle of August is the busiest times, he's now there when school's in session, which means no one's at the courts until about nine or 10 a.m. So he's going at about 7.45, and there was my group and a group of senior citizens, whereas when I've gone in the summer, about half a dozen times I couldn't get on a co

He drove by Veterans and Veterans was packed, which that one, I mean, you've got the rec center, there's a different, people just frequent Veterans more. But I can tell you that you're not gonna get an accurate reading and it's mostly because people will not go right now because they're dropping their kids off at school. and it's not summer anymore, so just people aren't going at that time. The most accurate read, which we don't have time for at this point, would be May to middle of August. That's the peak time for pickleball, again, mostly because the kids are out of school and people have ti

I mean, I would say even at night right now, you're going to get, I mean, veterans is again, is it like an anomaly because they're really popular courts, but at the other courts, even right now in the evenings, because again, people have school, the college kids have school the next day. It's not gonna be as busy because school's back in. So the peak time is gonna be, it's hard.

I just, I wasn't sure in the attend and who issued the study. That's why I was confused. But so our resident had a suggestion and that was leave the tennis courts at discovery and add, additional pickleball courts to the north of Veterans?

So your study thing, observation we'll call it, it's still going on because like my daughter's just started tennis and the high school is obviously in full season for girls tennis. And so my kids play tennis. So that's why I know that sometimes there are people waiting for lighted courts when they're playing for tennis and it's hard to find them in other places. The reason why people come to ours is because they know there's four. So you're not going to drive to one court in Linden with the risk of it being taken. And find somebody there and then you... Same thing in Cedar Hills. And so, anywa

Can I ask you one other thing, maybe, Scott, is when you talk to the principal, as you're telling them what maybe the plan is, I don't know what the cost would be to light a couple of the courts up there. Yeah, I'll ask about that. High school, but would, yeah, would the high school or the school district maybe kick in some money if we wanted to light a couple courts up there?

So I'll talk to them about that. I mean, their team might like it because their team, I mean, like the men's team starts in the spring when it's still dark out. Oh, yeah. And so, I don't know. That was just a thought.

I mean, don't suggest 50-50 first. Start with 100% now.

Tell me more about that, that sounds nice. Is this a real sloth? Like this is like a heating pad or? A service sloth. A service sloth, like you just hang onto it like a body pillow? Uh-huh. I wanna check that out. Sounds nice, actually.

like those disinfecting guns I don't know if you've seen it has like a blue light on it and people take it and they do it over like everything like their counters bathrooms and so it's just like a almost like a wand a UV sanitizer we do still have the one the fire department gave us during covid I'd recommend that yeah

This one might not be as heavy duty because they just sell like on Amazon, but it's just something that like everyday people can, like they do their purse, I mean everything. It might be like maybe not as heavy duty that wouldn't cause a burn or anything, but then it could sanitize.

Okay, so retail something, we just don't know what.

Okay, thank you for checking on that. That's good to be able to tell people.

No, it wasn't. The residents aren't planning on coming down to voice.

So I just want, this is nine, this is 10A, right, that we're talking about, the action item. Yes. So they're gonna build another structure that kinda is off to the side of the big apartments that they're building right now, right? That's what we're talking about.

So with this retail, will that basically, pave in that hole like it'll end up paving the whole spot there be once this is approved okay yeah they need to come out with improvements for sure okay thank you all right megan David we're gonna save you for last David

For everyone, or is she just saying that to us? No, everyone.

Yeah, sorry, Steve. You can't be a part of it. I was taught in my breakout role. I know.

I had a question. Yeah. I was approached by somebody who only has girls. Okay. And they were wondering, have we considered ever doing like a girls only flag football league? It's apparently huge outside of Utah. Starting to be a thing, yes. And most, a lot of states actually have high school girls flag football as an accredited sport. Yeah. I'm just wondering if, with all the other kind of rec directors and things like that, has that been discussed? I don't know if Pleasant Grove itself would have enough for a full league, but if it was like a intercity league where the girls could have that.

But girls can sign up for the boys league. Yeah. Because hasn't there been girls, because my kids have played and girls have been on the team. Yeah. It's not like it's.

Well, no, they're allowed and a lot of times they'll have a girls team playing. I was going to say, I think we have an all. I've coached a girls team. But my niece in California, she plays in a girls league. Yeah. It's, I don't know, obviously a different, she is 12. Yeah.

Cause I know at the high school they have powder puff, which is like a for fun. It's not like even like a rec thing. It's just like a for fun league.

So her, her high school in California, San Clemente has a high school girls flag football team. It plays other high schools and they have a state championship and, and they're actually moving to also have boys sanctioned flag football. and a lot of colleges have actually like club. So they're not NCAA teams, but they're club affiliated teams. And so anyway, I just thought it would be kind of cool because I think there's a lot of young girls that would love to have a,

It's going to be at LA. And I think the NFL's, I don't know if there's money available there from the NFL to maybe start an initiative, but I just think it would be kind of cool.

I mean, tackle football numbers have consistently dropped. Sure. Flag football numbers have consistently increased. I love that.
