Will the audience please rise and repeat the pledge with me. I pledge allegiance to the flag, nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice.
Our dear Father in heaven, we're very grateful for the opportunity that we have to come together as Pleasant Grove residents, staff, mayor and council, and citizens. We're very grateful for this beautiful city that we live in. We're grateful for the moisture that we've received this last week. We ask that thou would please bless us that as we hear the items on the agenda that we will be inspired to make those decisions that will be best for Pleasant Grove in the long run. and we say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Mayor, make a motion that we approve tonight's meeting agenda with those changes noted.
Mayor, I'll make a motion that we approve tonight's consent items as listed on the agenda.
Is your mic on? Is there a green light on your mic? Okay, good.
Oh, my daughter works there. It's still there.
And if a business owner wasn't available when you knocked on the door, was there a notice left or anything to make sure they were
I have a question for Daniel. I just wanted to make sure, and maybe you can speak to this, because something that Drew said that reminded me, and that was this is not going to eliminate any of our current design standards that we have for the downtown area. No.
Yeah, I just wanted to make that clear that this master plan is not, and you've said it multiple times, it's clear to I think us, but I wanna make sure it's clear in the public meeting that we are not changing code. These are guidelines and points of maybe some recommendations and things like that that can help guide us as we seek to revitalize parts of our downtown area.
Mayor, I will make a motion that we adopt Ordinance 2026-25 to adopt the Pleasant Grove Downtown Master Plan.
I make the motion that we adopt ordinance 2026-27 to adopt the updated stormwater management plan, updating, including new standard operating procedures, adding new appendices and other necessary changes.
Yes. And I apologize. I need to leave for a family wedding. So I apologize.
So what is the back, which one is? Okay, so if you're on the corner, let's say you're on the corner of... Well, you're looking west. Yeah, if you're looking west. Right here. OK, what does that back of that building look like?
Mayor, I'll make a motion that we approve the commercial site plan for a commercial building located at approximately 224 South Pleasant Grove Boulevard in the Grove Commercial Sales Zone with the boulevard mixed use overlay. Thank you.
I just, so I don't know if you can speak to this, but when the school districts split, will this same agreement be adopted by Temp and August or will we need to negotiate a new one?
Mayor, I'll make a motion to approve and adopt Resolution 2026-041, authorizing the mayor to sign an interlocal cooperation agreement with the Alpine School District for school resource officer services.
Mayor, I just have one comment for Chief Brown. You know, there's been a lot of public comment on flock hammers. And whenever I'm asked, I kind of share the same thing. We've heard the stories that have saved lives and have brought loved ones back home and have found the bad guys and found cars and we've been on that side of endorsing and helping to pay for flock cameras. It was a 5-0 vote. I think it's still a 5-0 vote. We endorse the use of flock cameras because they save lives. and they keep our community safer. So thanks for all you're doing, thanks for your leadership.
And we talked about that in length as well with you.
Yeah, I just wanna say, I would have the unique opportunity of being very involved in the downtown plan. And I think that it's awesome how passionate people are in our city about the downtown area. And I'm excited for the plan. I'm excited. to make sure that as we move forward we are good stewards of the history of Pleasant Grove which makes it a wonderful place to be and really fascinating to live here and but also to try and pump some revitalization in an area that is kind of a gem in Utah County with regard to its kind of off the beaten path, but accessible from that beaten path. So I reall
Yeah, I talked to the guy who is over the Governor's Council for Economic Development in the state, made our pitch, and he said if we are not going to be in consideration, he would let me know. And he has not let me know that we're not in consideration. So maybe I'll stick my paralegal on them to try and get an update. But I think that there's some funding opportunities and some other things that I think Pleasant Grove will, I don't wanna say materially change, but will will proceed to have an economic center downtown while preserving the history. And so I'm really excited about that. But that
Yes, just very quickly, first of all, thank you, staff. Just looking over the chief's report, the 15 DUIs is just heartbreaking to me that people now, you just kind of hope that that tobacco use is down. You just hope that drinking and driving would just go down. And so it just, I don't know, just makes me sad that people are still drinking and driving. Also, it is very, very nice to have a plan And it is also, there's a lot of people that can sit on and look at what they would hope would happen and dream about what they hope would happen. But there are a couple people here in the room who hav
That was a personal jab, by the way. JT is carving names.
