All right, good afternoon. It is Thursday, August 20th. We're gonna kick off our study session here, and we're pleased to be joined by our friends from the county and Public Works. I'm gonna have Ryan take it from here, but this is gonna be a presentation on solid waste treatment.

8:47•Matt Cole

That's great. Quick question. Are all these drop-off locations, are they listed within the app?

9:14•Matt Cole

Okay, cool. And just as a sidebar, I love the app. It's the only app I have, one of the only apps I have notifications on, so thank you for having it up.

23:42 – 23:55•Matt Cole

Real quick before you move to the next slide, I'm just curious on this boundary that you've drawn here, this area, why this specific area, if you're looking for something to service all of North County, why not further east as well? We did.

24:09•Matt Cole

These were just for the final seven were in this area? Yeah. Okay.

32:26 – 32:37•Matt Cole

Are there any of those remaining four sites that are, like, what are the zoning of those four sites? Can you? They're all AG20. So they'd have to be designated by the county in order to be?

34:45 – 35:02•Matt Cole

Yeah. Oh, we know. We know. Other questions, counsel? What are what our next steps and so if you go back to that last side?

35:22 – 35:34•Matt Cole

And I'm sure you said this, but do you have an anticipated timeline for these next steps? And at what point are we moving dirt to build a new transfer station?

36:30•Matt Cole

What is the approximate cost of construction for a new station?

36:58 – 37:17•Matt Cole

And I know that you were all in like, this is part of like the whole feasibility study. And then you're going to different cities and given this presentation, has there been any presentations on this specific, on your findings? Like you've given us to the County council yet along the way, or have they heard this yet? Or is it, um, is it still, is that forthcoming?

37:54•Matt Cole

Have you given this presentation to Le Center or Battleground yet? Or Amboy?

40:00 – 40:35•Matt Cole

Yeah, and I would agree with you. I think that we, as North County residents, feel the need for a new transfer station someplace in North County, so I appreciate the effort to do that. Could we go back to the slide really quick, Ms. Julie, the one that had the seven finalist sites and the boundary that was drawn? And at what point do you anticipate that those sites that you're reviewing will become public? I'm a little shocked that it's not public yet. I would have figured that would have been kind of a part of the public process.

41:30 – 42:02•Matt Cole

Yeah, I appreciate that. So in looking at this boundary that you have here, and knowing that you said two of the final sites were inside our city limits, and so I can see where our city limits are. I know where they're at. And then the areas around it, and some of it touches Le Centre. But all of those are going to be relatively close to Le Centre and the city of Ridgefield. I'm just curious, like, where those end up landing, and are you anticipating that your finalist sites, your preferred sites, are those in the county, or are they going to be inside the city of La Center?

42:28•Matt Cole

They're still going to technically feel like they're in Ridgefield, I'm assuming, right? Yeah. OK.

42:37•Matt Cole

Yeah. Sorry. Yeah. OK. Any other questions, counselors?

56:46 – 56:58•Matt Cole

Okay, thank you very much. Council, following this, any remaining questions for county or staff?

59:42 – 1:00:23•Matt Cole

we feel the governance discussion is going to be the driver that makes the decision okay great okay that's really helpful any remaining questions council okay well we thank you for coming out today thank you for the wealth of information you provided us and uh we look forward to hearing more updates as we go and if not we'll probably see you next year yeah thank you thank you um Council does have an executive session now we're going to go into. This is pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 to discuss personnel matters. The study session will take. So the executive session. I'm sorry, executive session, ye

1:00:34 – 1:00:53•Matt Cole

Okay, so we'll give a couple minutes for this room to clear out. So the council will return at 5.35 p.m. 5.45, council is returning from this executive session. There is no action being taken today. So with that, we're going to conclude our study session for the evening. Thank you very much.
