0:35 – 2:01•Lidia Cantave

I'm good, thanks. Sorry, I have a little bit of a cold, so excuse my voice. Call the meeting to order at 6.30pm. Who are we missing? Francois, I believe, is not here yet. Let's see. Let's give him a moment. I was muted that whole time talking to myself. Sorry. Okay, so call the meeting to order 631. We're still missing Francois. Okay. So roll call Susan.

2:09 – 2:21•Lidia Cantave

Francois is missing. Jose, not present. Okay, I need approval of the May 5th meeting minutes. If I can get a second, please.

2:24 – 2:44•Lidia Cantave

Thank you. Okay, so right into old business. on the final presentation for the 5K run. That being Lily. I'm not sure whose that is.

3:06 – 3:33•Lidia Cantave

Vice Mayor is not on yet, right? No. Someone reach out to him, please. Yes. Thank you. Because we definitely need him for my last item. Okay. So thank you, Lily. So update on the Village Police Crime Watch Artreach Program. Officer Sparlanka, you're with us?

3:45•Lidia Cantave

Yeah, it's on old business. I thought we had already discussed it last time.

4:18•Lidia Cantave

North Bay Island. Okay. And Jose had brought up that issue first, correct? Correct. Yes, correct. Okay. And he hasn't followed up with you on it?

4:33•Lidia Cantave

Okay. Do you have any other updates for us while we have you?

5:18•Lidia Cantave

Are you going to have it in the same place?

5:42 – 6:03•Lidia Cantave

Let's see, sorry. It didn't print out the agenda, so I better. So the next thing I have on here is a community garden initiative which I'm trying to follow up on that one. So I'm going to table that because I haven't spoken to the mayor about it yet. And then.

6:08•Lidia Cantave

That's what I'd like to propose to her. To where the power station is going to be. Not the power station. The water pump.

6:25•Lidia Cantave

Yeah, right next to the building there. Right next to the... Hispaniola? No. It's the

6:53 – 7:06•Susan Swartz

Wait, is it the little house in the corner that to me always looked like it was a church and a rectory? And it's next to the apartment building, the condo building?

7:06•Lidia Cantave

It's next to the apartment building, yeah.

7:08•Susan Swartz

Okay. Right. Okay. And that's going to get torn down, and that's where we want to do the community garden?

7:15•Lidia Cantave

That's going to be a water pump station. Right. But there's going to be extra land, so that's what we were thinking, making a little community garden there.

7:25•Susan Swartz

My only thought on that is that Is there any sunlight? Because if there is no sunlight, your garden needs light. Most vegetables and fruits need light.

7:45 – 8:10•Lidia Cantave

So I'll have something for the next meeting. I'll try and speak to the mayor to see what she thinks, and I'll have something to discuss next meeting. Sorry, I haven't had the chance to talk to her yet. Any other questions on that before we move forward? Okay. Have we heard back from vice mayor?

8:16•Lidia Cantave

Okay. So let's, uh, any other old business I haven't touched on? Lily, do you want to tell us about the 4th of July? How did it go?

9:14•Lidia Cantave

Okay. Awesome. Anything new else that you want to discuss or let us know about?

10:05•Lidia Cantave

Speaking of the community center, that's actually next on the agenda. It's discussion and review of the village community center programming. Do you have that, Lily?

10:18•Lidia Cantave

I did not put that on either, so I'm not sure who did put that on. Fair name, Susan, no.

10:27 – 10:48•Susan Swartz

No, but I love it because I actually just told someone today about the community center and she asked me, what kind of program is there going to be? Because my world is full of yoga and all that. Like I, so many people that I could help bring things in. Sound healing, yoga, any of that type of stuff. But no, I didn't put it on the end.

10:49•Lidia Cantave

Lily, who's handling that? That could be me. Can you give us a little glimpse at least?

11:59•Lidia Cantave

But is it of commissioners of residents? Are you making another board? Do you do you know?

12:25•Lidia Cantave

So are the lines budgeted for that already? The community center?

13:00•Lidia Cantave

And that's in the current budget that's being looked at? Yeah. Will the Y be there with the kids?

13:21•Lidia Cantave

They're still at the school this year? No. They're still at the school this year? The Y?

13:50 – 14:02•Lidia Cantave

So do you have like specific categories that you're looking for programming in? I assume so, right? To span between children all the way to seniors.

14:23•Lidia Cantave

Right. Anybody have any questions? You guys are really quiet today.

14:33•Susan Swartz

I would love to be involved in that. So however the residents are getting involved, I'd love to be involved in the program. I'm so excited for the community center.

14:44 – 14:59•Susan Swartz

When are they going to do the street? Are they still doing it and changing it and making the parking? They had said they were going to change Galleon to be angled.

15:07 – 15:37•Susan Swartz

No, they had said way back that they were going to do that and make it a one-way street in front of the community center. Is that not the way they're going to do? Yeah. They said they were going to change the parking. Cause we were, this was very early on when I first joined, we were saying how we didn't think there'd be a lot of enough parking for the community. And they said they were going to change the street to do, I can't, I don't know what the words are instead of two side parking, but one side and a one way street. So that's not happening. The street's staying the way it is.

16:02•Susan Swartz

Okay. No, it looks great. And like the fields and everything looks so amazing.

16:09•Lidia Cantave

So, so for the, the little park, the one on North treasure, you're talking about, they're having diagonal power parking. Lily?

16:23•Lidia Cantave

Yeah, that one. That's what I'm talking about.

16:32•Lidia Cantave

Right behind the... Yeah, I live next door and I have not noticed that. Yeah.

16:44•Lidia Cantave

Yeah, I do face that way and I will. I have not noticed that.

16:48•Susan Swartz

I used to walk my dog in Pirate Alley. The only thing I ever saw back there was trucks for the grocery store.

16:53•Lidia Cantave

Yeah, I don't come down that way anymore because our gate doesn't open right on the back. So I haven't been down the alley in a while, but I face that direction.

17:06•Susan Swartz

Why did they pay to put grass on that lot right now?

17:27•Susan Swartz

Are they putting any benches and tables or anything?

17:59•Susan Swartz

They did a great job. The grass looks great.

18:52•Lidia Cantave

I'm sorry, I got kicked out. What was the answer?

19:07•Lidia Cantave

So how many hats are you wearing now, Lily?

19:17 – 19:35•Lidia Cantave

At least you have some help now. Yes. They're fantastic. They are. I see Christina's on here, right? Didn't I just see her? Or is she off now? Hello, everyone. Hi. Welcome. I wanted to welcome you officially, even though I haven't met you in person yet.

19:38•Lidia Cantave

I saw Susan at the commission meeting. Yeah. She stood in for all of us. Thank you, Susan.

19:46•Susan Swartz

That was great. You're welcome. That was great.

19:51 – 20:11•Lidia Cantave

Well, welcome. Welcome to the village. I hope you're with us a very long time. Thank you so much. I appreciate that. Okay. So let's see. Commissioner. Let's see. Rice Mayor is still not with us. Hoping he'd get on here in time to hear the next line. Let's see.

20:15 – 20:50•Lidia Cantave

Well, no. One of my neighbors is giving a presentation on the Darlie Parton Imagination Library. I think he talked to you about it briefly. And I wanted the vice mayor to hear it because it needs to be budgeted. So it's something he needs to hear about. I mean, he could listen to it, the meeting later on. if he can't get on. Let's make sure we're done with everything else before we move on to that. Is there any other questions for anything? Lily, what is your next event?

20:55•Lidia Cantave

It's July, so... Can't think of anything. If we...

21:23•Lidia Cantave

Okay. TBD. Yes. Gotcha. Okay, so let's move on. Clevy, are you on?

21:40 – 21:56•Lidia Cantave

Hi, Cleve. This is my neighbor, Cleve, and he has a great idea or potential for programming for the community center. It's a Darley Parton Imagination Library, and I'll let him take it because he has it all worked out.

25:55•Lidia Cantave

So from what I understand is the, the child registers and the, the only thing we would have to involve really is the cost. If it's village sponsored.

26:08•Lidia Cantave

So there's no cost. It's only per child if the child signed up.

26:50•Lidia Cantave

Yeah. It has to be like city sponsored. You can't like, just not anyone can go on there and sign up. In other words.

29:37•Lidia Cantave

Yeah. And Kleby also mentioned, for example, if there's, um, same age range children in the house, they send different books to each child, right? Yeah.

31:12 – 31:38•Lidia Cantave

Okay. is it something that we can uh send you vice mayor to present it to the commission possibly maybe or to lily be part of the community center sorry i think this would be a great addition to the community center that's where this would the definitely where this makes sense okay so yeah uh i'll get well you have lily's email i think levy right

32:47•Lidia Cantave

Okay. Awesome. The next commission meeting is 20-something, right?

32:57•Lidia Cantave

Yeah. That sounds right. Okay. Okay. Okay, we'll do that. Does anyone have any questions on that?

33:12 – 33:31•Lidia Cantave

Thank you. Thank you. Okay. So last I'm here is staff and commission liaison updates. Does anyone else have anything for us? I think Vice Mayor has a big one for us.

34:00•Lidia Cantave

Awesome. Thank you so much. People have been trying to get that for years.

34:03•Susan Swartz

Has it started already? Can we go tomorrow? Just need our license to show our address? Exactly. Thank you.

34:12 – 34:30•Lidia Cantave

Thank you, Vice Mayor. That's a big one. Does anybody else have any updates or questions? Because that's the last of it on the agenda. Nothing?

34:32 – 35:03•Susan Swartz

I have a question on that green space in Anson Park. How are they going to keep people from letting their dogs poop in there? Good question. Because I had a dog. He died two years ago. And there's not a lot of walking space over here. And there's no dog park. And by the houses, it's not so bad. There's not a lot of poop. Over by the apartments, it's worse. But I just fear people are going to use that park to let their dogs off leash and let their dogs poop all over it.

35:56•Susan Swartz

I think it would be helpful if there's any money to put up a sign.

36:23 – 36:48•Lidia Cantave

Yeah, that's a good call. It's definitely needed. That's definitely going to happen, Susan. You're right. Even with the signs, but the signs will help. Okay, we have any public comments that we know of? No more comments, no questions. Everybody's done. Okay. See everybody next month. Thank you.
