1:13•Gary A. Costales

Okay, this meeting is called to order. The first order of business is the Pledge of Allegiance.

1:32•Gary A. Costales

Okay, roll call. Gary Casale is present. Julio Guillem present.

1:51 – 2:30•Gary A. Costales

Okay. The next order of business is, I believe, do we have anybody online that's going to be given a statement or saying anything at today's meeting? Okay, we have... An applicant present, and I should not have forgotten your name, but Mr. Latour? Not Latour, but you're going to be speaking? No, that is one of our trellis. This is, hmm? OK. Are you going to be giving a statement tonight?

2:35 – 2:46•Gary A. Costales

Right. The two-story addition. You're right. So could you please raise your right hand? Do you swear or affirm that the statements you're going to give tonight are the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Yes.

3:37 – 3:51•Gary A. Costales

OK. OK, the first item of business is for priority one signs. It's HPB 2026-001. Staff, do you want to give a summary?

6:16 – 6:30•Gary A. Costales

OK. Excuse me? The mic is on. Yeah. OK, we'll open up for any comments. Does the board members have any comments or anything?

6:41•Gary A. Costales

Okay. I remember that we dealt with this a long time ago. So I'm looking at the recommendations here.

6:55 – 7:17•Gary A. Costales

Okay. I move that we approve HBPB 26001 with the and adopt the staff's recommendations that they provide the correct square footage for assignee during permitting. I second.

7:26•Gary A. Costales

OK. Yeah. Thank you for that. Any comments from the applicant or any member of the public?

8:30 – 8:46•Gary A. Costales

Okay. Comments are closed. Having heard nothing on any further comments, and there was a motion and a second. All those in favor? Aye. Okay.

13:36•Gary A. Costales

What was the last point demonstrated that the proposed driveway complies with Section 20-4-4C2?

15:00 – 15:12•Gary A. Costales

The historical president, yeah. It doesn't really have... No. Yeah. Okay. Does anybody wish to speak on this? Would you like to... Would you like to say a few words or...

16:37•Gary A. Costales

Thank you. We're open for discussion. Any comments from any board members?

17:41•Gary A. Costales

The arched aluminum door you're talking about?

18:45•Gary A. Costales

Yeah, the existing house had those archways, right?

21:18•Gary A. Costales

Well, the mountains would fit within that.

21:23•Gary A. Costales

But what a mountain would be, so it's four?

22:00•Gary A. Costales

It doesn't look that big in the picture. It's four feet by four feet. I see what you mean, yeah.

23:17•Gary A. Costales

To make it brown to match the downstairs.

23:33•Gary A. Costales

You might have enough room to match the muntin on the right of the entrance, which is like three strips. Yes.

23:48•Gary A. Costales

Okay, any other comments or suggestions? Okay, but that's a suggestion. Is it a condition or a suggestion?

24:16 – 24:29•Gary A. Costales

Okay, I move that we approve this application with the recommendations provided by staff and that the muntin on the, how would you say, the top window.

24:36 – 25:13•Gary A. Costales

Second story square window on the front facade match the muntins. as best as possible with those in the first floor. And also, do you want to? And also that the finish on those windows that are on the second floor. The finish on the garage door? Yes, that's a good point. Yeah, the finish on the garage door matches the wood finish that's prevalent in the house, the brown finish. And also, what about the finishes on the windows on the second floor?

25:16 – 25:55•Gary A. Costales

Yeah, they match the archway and all that. Okay, so you're just talking about the garage door. All right, so basically the motion is to approve with... adopting staff recommendations, and then to match the muntins on the second floor window facing the front facade to match the muntins on the first floor, and also that the garage door match the wood grain that's in the existing windows on the first floor. Second? I'll second. Okay. All those in favor? Aye. Aye.

25:59 – 26:22•Gary A. Costales

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Hopefully we don't see it too much again, but I have a feeling we're going to be seeing you. It's coming along. It looks great. I know this is often more difficult than building a house to add on like that.

28:18 – 28:41•Gary A. Costales

Yes. And I don't recall that we've talked about that. Maybe we talked about that a long time ago. It's a question of money. We basically don't really have a budget. So I think that's a great idea. I think that we need to, first off, I think we need to find out what is already there and what placards or plaques are there. Because I think there is somewhere in the city that there's something.

31:40 – 33:16•Gary A. Costales

Yeah, that's a great idea. And there's so much that's going on now with the city. And there's going to be so much construction. I think it is a good time to sort of keep tabs on that. And I guess this is a problem where the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. And this reminds me of when there was one of the previous plans to – changed city hall when they did the RFP, the city came up with all sorts of plans to move the Sylvan Martin building, which is the only city-owned historical property. And we had no input into that. But another arm of the city handled that pretty well, a

36:23 – 36:41•Gary A. Costales

Yeah, I think so. I imagine in the street master plan there's all kinds of benches or features. I don't know what the general term would be that It's already planned and it would probably be pretty easy to work in something of an historical nature.

37:28 – 38:03•Gary A. Costales

Anybody of a certain age in South Miami has a romantic memory of smelling bread and all that. The extent of my involvement is I remember the bakery center. I don't remember the bread, but I remember the bakery center, and that was pretty cool at the time. Me too. So yeah, I think we could further discuss that at another meeting, add that to an agenda, add that to the next agenda. But and I think we have lots of time. I don't think any of this is going to happen anytime soon. So I think we, I imagine, or.

38:06 – 39:05•Gary A. Costales

No, no, either. OK. OK. All right, we'll add that. As far as what we were talking about, which was disseminating the brochures, and I know time is a bit limited, I don't know if there's a whole lot to say. We had talked in the past about having them in storefronts. We had talked about. having them available or having uh somebody hand them out somehow at one of the art fairs you know some city event um we talked about having them available here in city hall i didn't see any coming in um you know there's brochures and all that but i didn't see any maybe i missed it or something but um i don't kn

40:46 – 41:14•Gary A. Costales

Yeah, and we can provide a link. There's a link on the website and all that we talked about. Right. But I think we need to, at the next meeting, I think this idea of going to the schools is a great one. So I think we have to develop that and talk about the logistics of it and the pragmatics of doing all that. Yeah, OK, that's a great idea. Anything else?

41:45•Gary A. Costales

OK, all right. That's a great idea, yeah, a QR code and strategically placed in different places.

41:57 – 42:24•Gary A. Costales

Yeah, that's a good idea. OK, the next item of business is the approval of the minutes from February 23. Yeah, we have like two minutes. Yeah. I move that we approve the minutes from February 23. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Aye. aye okay i think believe that is the last item of business and um we will be back on april 27th this meeting is adjourned
