Um got uh one item on tonight and that is uh choosing some more board members for the PNC council. The other item that may be on this sheet of paper I looked.

Yeah, that's 420 520 Milton has been pushed out. It'll be addressed at a later date. So yeah, uh we have the script. So we'll just go with the order of business outline there. All right. Uh like do roll call, please. Patrick Husk here. Cody Wr. Tony Love here. David Reed absent. Chelsea Young. All right, that we have a quorum. So, uh, let's, uh, everybody stand for the pledge of allegiance.

Pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Father, thank you for this day. Thank you for allowing us to meet here tonight. Please watch over us. Help us to make the right decisions for the city of Josephine and all its citizens. All right. And the next item is approving the minutes from our last meeting.

I'll make a motion that we approve the minutes. Second. We have a second. Motion's passed. All right. Next item uh is to try to select future members of the planning zone zoning board. Oh, you're supposed to

Yeah. So, um item 3.1 has to be read. So you'll have to read like the the agenda caption which is to hold the public hearing. Um it's on your screen if if um it's on there.

All right. Item 3.1 is an open public hearing case number zone 26-001. Oh, that's the wrong one. Why is that on there? That's Is that the one we have to do? Yeah. I I thought we were skipping that. Okay.

All right. Right. Development. Okay. One. hold a public hearing to consider testimony and make a recommendation to the city council on a request to amend the zoning ordinance and zoning map of the city of Josephine each being a part of the code of ordinances from LR local retail to a planned development with a base zoning of LR local retail on two parcels of land totaling approximately 1.42 acres located at 520 Milton Street. All right. So, this is an item that was that is scheduled for public hearing tonight. Um, you will need to uh call the time to open the public hearing. Uh, the applicant is requesting that we continue the public hearing to the June 1st meeting. The reason is that they had additional changes to their concept plan and development standards that we needed more time to review and add to to what's published. So, um, our recommendation is that you open the public hearing, you call out the time, you invite anybody from the public to speak on the item, but they can also come back next month. Um, and next month, we'll bring you the updated exhibits A through F. I think we're going to have additional exhibits as well. So at this time uh is there anybody that would like to speak about this?

And if you will call out the time it's 1806 [clears throat] 1806 public comments on this agenda item 3.1. All right. So, um, the next what what we're going to need is a motion to continue the public hearing to the June 1st planning and zoning commission meeting. Okay. I make a motion that we continue the public hearing until the June 1st planning and zoning meeting.

Okay. So, it carries unanimously and it's time to close the public here. You did not close it. It stays open. It stays open until next month. And um that way we don't have to republish on the newspaper. We don't have to send any letters. As a courtesy, we will update the website just and and as we add the additional exhibits when we receive them. Um all right. So, that's it on 3.1. Um

So, next item I would uh like to ask the commission to determine if they would like to conduct interviews to proceed directly with the making of recommendations through the city council to fill the vacancies we have on board. And if we could have a motion on that I make a motion that we select members without um interviews.

Agree. Second. [laughter] So, just for the public record, just to kind of introduce the item, um we currently have several vacancies on the planning and zoning commission. Uh former chair Lloyd Brown resigned. Uh former member Greg Garcia resigned and um alternate commissioner David Reid uh is now a member of the economic development district board. So uh you cannot serve on two boards at at once. So you have uh openings for for um two full member positions and two alternates and you have a pool of three applicants as well as Miss Young who's currently an alternate. So, um, the recommendation from staff is that you make a a vote to fill two two full members and two alternates from that pool of four four people and then the city council may take up that recommendation. They may ask for additional interviews or not. I don't I don't know what they're going to do, but we'll present your recommendation to the city council.

Yeah. And I guess let's try to do this motion properly at this time. We'll entertain a motion to forward recommendation to the city council to fill two positions and recommend one alternate. Is that motion accepted?

okay. So, um we will now need to add the names to the motion. So, if somebody wants to make a motion to provide the names and the positions that you're recommending them for. Yeah.

Okay, next Douglas Thomas, uh, Michael Chapel, Michelle Bren, I think. Okay. [laughter] and uh Chelsea Young. You got chap also.

It's a feat in itself, believe it or not. The city council. So, okay. So, so if I heard you correctly, you just want to forward the names and let the council decide who's going to take the full and alternate positions. You don't you don't have to recommend specific people to specific positions. I'm just want to make that clear. So because what I heard just now is just forwarding the names without a position attached to them.

propose it to the city. Okay. So then your motion needs to be restated to say, you know, I I recommend blank to a full position, blank to a full position, blank to an alternate position. There's four names up. So, [clears throat]

so I make a motion that we recommend to the city council that Chelsea Young be the be one of the full-time members of the planning and zoning commission. Uh we also recommend that the city council consider the remaining applicants for the remaining full position and the two alternates, uh Douglas Thomas, Michael Chapel, and Michelle. What did we say? Uh, Besky. Beckes. I'll get it eventually.

I second. So, hold on. Just just so we're all clear, right? Just cuz I think we want to make sure when I write my report for council in the morning, you want you want Miss Miss Young to be one of the full members and then let council pick from the other three candidates. Okay. Okay. Sounds fair.

Okay. So, we'll make I'll submit my staff report first thing and city council will make the final decision on on May 11th and we're going to inform the the applicants. Two of them are here, but um yeah. All right. her dad. She Miss Miss Michelle Beesky could not be here tonight. She will be here next Monday though. She did let me know. She just couldn't be here tonight specifically.
