Good afternoon, everybody. This is the City of Joliet Legislative Committee on Tuesday, August 5 at 04:30PM in City Hall Council Chambers. Would you call the roll, please?
Councilwoman Coleman? Here. Councilman Cardenas?
Here.
Councilwoman Meriden? Here.
Okay. And in attendance, we also have city manager Beth Beatty
Stephanie Silkey from the law department and Deanna Donnelly from the law department.
Okay. Stephanie. Alright. So we need approval of the minutes. And before we do that, I know we have two new people on this committee. And there's obviously been a change of in the Robert's Rules of Order. So anybody even if you weren't here, you were allowed to now to go ahead and approve the how did you put it, Beth, the confirmation of the minutes from last meeting? What did what did you say? What was your term?
Your legal term. What was my legal explanation? Let me pull it back up here.
Okay.
Robert's rules of order say you can approve meeting minutes even if you were not present at the last meeting. The approval of minutes is based on the accuracy record, not on the personal knowledge of the events by those approving them. So as long as Councilwoman Riordan and Councilman Cardenas have reviewed the minutes, the notes from the minutes, they can vote for them.
Make a motion to approve. Second.
All in favor? Aye. Aye. Systems to be heard on agenda items. Seeing no one here, we will move on to agenda items. First one being an ordinance amending section two five of the city Of Joliet code of ordinances to prohibit the unauthorized use of the city seal and emblems. And this came off because I brought it to the city manager Beth's attention that people were selling T shirts with our logo on it
Making money.
Without permission. Making money. And I said, I I thought we had an ordinance, but we didn't. And Todd looked it up, and so he made up a new ordinance after I talked to miss Beatty, and that's where we're at at this. Do you want me to read the whole thing for the record, or what's your question?
No. Just an ordinance amending section two five of
the city of Joliet code of ordinance to prohibit the unauthorized use of the city seal and. Yep. Does anybody else have any questions? No. Okay. We need a motion.
I'll make a motion to approve item number eight eighty eight twenty three under agenda items. Second.
Second. All in favor? Aye. Aye. Okay. That's good. Now here comes the tricky tricky one.
Okay.
This caused me to drink a lot of coffee this
morning. Okay.
Next on the agenda today is where is it? It's the amendment to the Des Plaines River Valley Enterprise Zone in its intergovernmental agreement. So do you want me to read my explanation, or do you wanna Sure. Okay. Okay.
So, basically, the amendment amendment excuse me, it was approved by the River Valley Enterprise Zone Board of Approval, and it pertains to the inclusion of a new development project by Minnick, Illinois LLC. It's Norwalk Tank within the Enterprise Zone. It will enter this agreement. There'll be an expansion of 43 acres at Cherry Hill Road and Moss Lane in New York Lenox slash Joliet. The capital investment overall will be $19,000,000, 25 new full time jobs, and 33 retained jobs from the existing Joliet location.
The construction to be completed within twenty four months. And if this passes here today, this will go to the city of Joliet and mayor for approval at the next meeting. Anyone have any questions? No.
I'd make it. Can I make a motion
to approve? So I was just
going to say, can
we have a motion to approve?
All right. We'll take item number eight thousand eight forty seven under agenda items with the recommendation to approve from this council. Second.
Okay. We have first and second. And all in favor? Aye. Aye.
Does anybody else seeing still no one in the audience, does anybody else have any questions or comments they'd like to make for the record? No.
I'm just excited to be a part of this new legislative committee. Me too.
Me three. I couldn't even get the committee people right. I'm so upset. I kept looking and putting nobody's name in there anyway. Okay. Well, that being said,
I guess we can call for adjournment. So motion
to adjourn. Second. All in favor? Aye.
Aye. Okay. Thank you.
