A special recognition for the 2025 Firefighter of the Year, a beloved charity golf event tees off in the upstate, and the city's largest outdoor event returns for another year. On Friday, the Greer Centennial Lions Club presented the 2025 Firefighter of the Year Award in honor of Lieutenant Taylor Graham to his wife, Angie Graham. Lieutenant Graham recently passed away following many years of dedicated service to the City of Greer Fire Department and embodied servant leadership throughout his career. Lieutenant Graham's life, service, and legacy will continue to inspire generations of firefighters to come. We're just a few days away from kicking off the 2026 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD Cinex at the second annual Party on Trade presented by Best Buy Metals. Coming up, City Council will meet tonight, May 26, at City Hall at 6.30 p.m. Since 1925, American Legion Baseball has maintained the reputation as one of the most successful amateur athletic leagues in the nation. And the Greer Post has been positively impacting the young people of our community for generations. Opening night for the Greer Warhawks seniors team is June 4th at 7 p.m. This will also be Greer City Employee Night. Athletic Director Kevin Donahue has plans for tons of special activities this season for the team's home games at Stevens Field. So keep an eye out for more updates.
