City Commission - workshop

Some important dates for the Truth in Milledge are budgeting. August 24th, the property appraiser will send out the notice of proposed tax to all property owners. This is that preliminary list of what your taxes could look like for the next year. It will also have on it the dates of your school tax voting, where it is. It will tell you when the next, the first hearing is for the city, whether it's the city of Daytona Beach Shores or whatever city or county you live in, which our first public hearing is on September 9th. It's a Wednesday, so that'll be different, at 6 p.m. And that is where we will, that's our first public hearing for the tentative millage rate and the tentative budget. And then the final public hearing for the final millage rate and final budget will be September 22nd, Tuesday at 6 p.m. What other questions do we have either for our city manager or our director of finance?

either someone did a very good job of explaining well madam mayor i think the reason that there aren't any questions is each member of the commission has spent a significant amount of time before this meeting with staff and we appreciate that that we were able to answer a lot of questions we got a lot of really good suggestions from you all and it was a it was a great working uh environment thank you for bringing up i don't want any of our um

residents who think that this is the first time we're seeing it we each had a very very detailed um that we were allowed to i know i asked a lot of questions and um thank you very much for your patience and i know i asked it several different ways the same question but thank you so much and we appreciate all 15 of your last questions i i started to get up and say this is the last one this is the last one and finally they kicked me out of the room okay The workshop, I don't know. Okay, so right now this is just the workshop. So when we're in our regularly scheduled meeting that starts at 1 o'clock, then we'll be addressing whether we want to accept the proposed that our staff has given to us, anything in between so we can talk about that. We just want to make sure this is the time that we're fully knowledgeable what's going on, what does this line mean, any questions that we have. So do you have any other questions at this time?

No, I don't have any questions. I had the luxury of meeting with the city manager and our finance director, so I had an individual presentation, and I asked my questions then. But I've been paying attention, and it's wonderful that we have great staff that are spot on it. We hope for the best and plan for the worst, and I think that's what we're doing.
