I ask you, Lord, to continue to protect our country and help us as city servants that that we will always strive to follow your will in everything that we do and think and say, within and without of these walls. I pray for our community and as a community that we will love you and that we will do and will strive to follow you in every aspect of our lives. Thank you, Lord, for this body of men as we work together tonight and all that we decide tonight will be pleasing to you and for the betterment and the furtherance of our community. Amen.

Second. Motion by Reker. Second by Volz. Mr. Mayor. Mr. Lucas may I just request that we separate F from the consent agenda since the applicants are since the request is folks are here tonight okay other requests calling a question on items A through E on the consent agenda please A through E are approved councilman Lucas item F yeah

20:22 – 20:461

in research of uh item f on the keynote transfer i had called mr snodgrass to ask him a couple questions and i saw that they were here tonight so mr mayor i wondered if you want to give them just a quick opportunity to tell them what they request tell us what they're requesting your snodgrass would one of you like to come and tell us what your thoughts are please i'm bill snodgrass 1101 south car north platte

20:48 – 22:133

And the request is my myself and my part business partner, Mike hammock. We want to sell our shares to the two of them are owners currently. And Ryan will will become part owner with his partner might never be. And so Mike and I are retired, retiring or spitting the bit, I guess, so to speak. So we'd like to hand them off and Marie is one of the owners, is also the manager, and she's real strong and real well-liked in the Keno community and by about everybody. And she'll remain on as a manager of it. And everything will go as it has been. And so that's the extent of it. And if you do approve it, I want to say that this is about the 30... six years or so of being involved with Keno and the city and the mayors and the clerks and all the boards have just been really, really cooperative and easy to work with. And we never really had any issue that came up with it. And it's been a joy to run it, manage it for you all those years. And I really appreciate how easy it's been to work with the city of North Platte.

22:142

Thank you. Anyone have any questions for Mr. Snodgrass? Thank you, Bill.

22:213

All right. Thank you guys very much.

22:25 – 23:071

Mr. Mayor. Real quick, just to comment on like a motion. The reason I'd call Mr. Snodgrass was that I've been a fan of the local ownership and involvement in this, which has continued to happen in active management. I've been monitoring and I've heard a lot of things about Carney's had a lot of ripples through their keynote. They changed from a local provider to a kind of a Lincoln Omaha more urban provider. It's not been very popular and their revenues are significantly down as a result of it. So the basis of my reaching out to him was just to kind of hoping that wasn't the case and that we still had a local ownership present and all that. And so I was happy with those answers. So with that, I would just motion that we approve item F on the consent agenda.

27:370

We have both trailers and tractors that have about that many years on route. We're replacing some with about 14 years on them right now.

27:433

That's pretty good.

27:47 – 28:230

And we are hauling more loads because our tonnage has gone up, so it may... may decrease just a little bit but we're hauling more loads as than we were five or six years ago so is this in addition to our fleet or are we going to it's going to replace a couple that are basically falling apart i understand that so what do we do with the the ones that were we are replacing so that the trailers are pretty much just shot the um semi tractors we i believe we got a little bit of trade-in value with those Not a lot, but there's a little bit.

30:304

I'm curious. Are we going to be doing anything as a community to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence?

30:40 – 32:132

Funny you should ask. There are a variety of groups that have a variety of events going on surrounding the 250th. To celebration, the city, in cooperation with the Visitors Bureau, has put together a quite extensive website, and we're inviting everyone who has an event to let the city or the Visitors Bureau know so we can get it on the website. It's up and alive today, so if you go to the City of Northwell website, there's a link. It goes directly to the Visitors Bureau website. I don't see Tracy's night here. I suppose there's probably about 15 or 16 events on there right now. The one that I'm particularly excited about is on June 30th during the baseball game. So there's an 80s baseball game on June 30th out there at Billwood Field. And we'll be having baseball. We'll be serving apple pie. And there will be fireworks at the end of the baseball game. So I've been for six years trying to get apple pie, baseball, and fireworks at the same event. And unless it rains, we're going to get it done. I'm not going to complain if it rains. Okay, so there will be that. There's a whole variety of other events, and I would encourage anyone who knows about an event that doesn't happen to be on the website, please let us know. We'd love to get it on the website. The Optimists are going to have just a grand fireworks show. They've spent quite a bit of money on fireworks on the 4th of July out at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, as they've done for many years in the past, and there's obviously many more events, too many for me to read right now.

32:144

Thank you. That's exciting.

32:15 – 32:322

It is. second motion by reeker second by voles to adjourn the meeting calling the question on adjournment meeting is adjourned we'll see everyone on june 2nd thank you
