Council - Special Meeting

All right, we'll call the meeting of the Pine Bluffs Town Council special meeting for December 18th, 2025 to order. Uh, please join me in the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

First item of business is the approval of the agenda. Um, I don't think there's still an executive session on the new one. Correct. It says the possibility you can on item one. Do we need to like make it clear we're going to do one or just

when do you want to when can we do that, Alex? Well, actually, um, it was my thought to move that around to make it an option under item one. So, uh, I think since it's available and optional, you know, probably just somewhere in there and when you somebody, you know, makes that motion, then we can deal with it as it comes up. But it didn't make sense to have it at the end. Sure. You know, cuz it would be something that would be after the fact. So that's why we did that that way. Sounds great. So it's there if needed. Okay. Okay.

I would like us to go into one at some point, whether it's before or after the vote. I am I move to approve the agenda. Second. It's been moved and seconded to approve the agenda. Any further discussion? Discussion. Seeing none, all in favor? I those opposed. Motion carries. All right. So, we will now accept nominations for the office of the mayor vacancy. Um, at this time, we will now accept nominations. Are there any?

I would nominate Dennis Misho. I'll second it. Um, it's been moved and seconded to nominate Dennis Misho for the vacancy of the mayor. Um, is there any further discussion? Do we then approve him like just as a nomination or do we add more names? We can we can add more of Do we nominate ourselves? I believe so. We sure can. Okay. Any further nominations? I would like to nominate myself. Okay. We now have a motion on the table to nominate Janna Kesner. Is there a second? You don't need a second for a nomination. I don't.

Okay, great. A second. All right. The nominations are now closed. There is no one else. Candidates are Dennis Misho and Janna Kesner. And however, we need to proceed now with um are we ready for a roll call vote or would you like to go into executive session? It's totally up to you three. We know how this is going to go. So, it's up to you. What's the right way to do it?

Well, if uh if there are no uh preliminary motions, then I think a roll call vote would be appropriate. Okay, we'll move on to a roll call vote and I'll start with Janna. Do I just say my name then? Sure. Okay. Janna Casner. Dave, you're just looking for names at this point. I'm not I'm not clear on what we're doing. We're voting for the two nominees. Okay. Jana and Dennis. And Jana just voted for Jana.

Very good. What? So, so I guess the options are to vote for one of them or not vote at all. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Uh Dennis Misho. Dennis Misho. I vote for myself. Dennis Misho. Okay. By majority vote, Dennis Misho is appointed the mayor of Pine Bluffs. Um, do we have a motion to approve this appointment? Um, point of order for you. Um,

you don't really need a motion on since we all voted. Okay. Yeah, it's a little awkward because No, makes [clears throat] sense. I wasn't sure. Yeah. Typically uh when we take actions we do it as a governing body and we don't have a governing body because we don't have a mayor yet. So okay uh I think you've you've accomplished the appointment anticipated under the statutes. Perfect.

So the next order of business then would be to administer the oath of office if we're available to do that and then you would take the chair. Okay. Would you like to come over here? I will. Okay.
