It's going to be CUSE372026, the application of Alvin Olson, writer for Chevrolet, requesting temporary use approval renewal to allow an existing 12 by 60 commercial modular building to remain for an additional year as office space for a motor vehicle sales lot located at 215 Barsdale Boulevard, Bossier City, Louisiana, City Council District 5, Gloucester District 9. Hey, good afternoon.
How are y'all? Yes, we have a mobile modular building, the 215 Barsdale, that's acting as our used car lot. We moved that, well we didn't move the building, but we moved our used car operations from the foot of the Texas Street Bridge to that lot about a little bit over a year ago. We are in the process of selling that piece of property, probably close on the East Texas Street lot at the end of June. Our plan is to put a permanent building on the 215 Barksdale location. We've met with Carlotta to discuss what that would require architecturally or what landscaping would be required there. We haven't begun on any architecture drawings yet, but we'd like to operate out of that building. for another year while we try to make plans to put a permanent structure at that address.
So the used car lot is the one that would remain?
So 207 East Texas Street is under contract. It'll probably be sold by the end of June. So at that point, we don't have a permanent location to move back to. So we'd like to move. We'd like to put a permanent building at 215 Barksdale, and it would be probably a three office, small three office building with a restroom, but nothing.
What progress has taken place towards that building?
Not a lot. We met with Carlisle. We were asking to make the mobile modular office permanent, and we found out that that wasn't going to be an option. So we're trying to figure out what the requirements would be. And our options post this building operating as an office for our used car lot are either going to be build a new building there or move everybody back across the street to 221 Traffic Street, which we can do. But it does help us operationally have physical salespeople on that line. There's more foot traffic down there at the East Bank District than there was five years ago, than there was 10 years ago. And we were missing foot traffic by not having people over there. So it does help us to have the building. And our intent today is to put a building we don't have designs on.
Of course, we approved the modular building really close to 18 months ago. Right. So I would be fine giving you, I'm speaking for myself, maybe six months, but within that period of time, if you could present some preliminary drawings or architectural drawings, say, here's what we're doing, we're moving forward, then I think we could work with that.
