I don't have a cat. I used to [Music] think Yeah, I wouldn't want that either. Not that way. If you want, you can put his name plate right on the other side if you want. Yeah, that's true.

8:31 – 8:500

It would have been so much easier to sit where you sit. Yeah, we have focus so no one no one makes double when we're live. We good? Okay. I'd like to welcome you to this special town council meeting. First item on the agenda is the pledge of

8:48 – 9:190

allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, liberty and justice for all. Okay, we just have one thing on the agenda and it's a request for a one-day entertainment license from George O Tulle and it's for Saturday, September 27th at Bur Hill. Please come up and just give us a quick rundown on what you want to do.

9:18 – 10:510

Good evening. First of all, thanks everybody for coming to the special meeting. I really appreciate it. Things got confusing and whatever, but it won't happen again. Uh so the rally for recovery is um September is recovery month and around all over the country they celebrate recovery month through rallies, walks and everything else. In Rhode Island we've been celebrating rally for recovery for 20some years. Um I used to be the president for Rally for Recovery Rhode Island held them many times in Providence uh Newport all over the state. And since I came to ECAP down here in the East Bay, which I work for ECAP, um I retired from the Rally for Recovery, but then I start I I brought the Rally to for recovery here to the East Bay and we kind of rotated around. We last year we were at um our venue right here at the recovery center. We just did a little event in in the parking lot. Um few years before that, for a couple years prior to that, we did them at a Cold State Park. Um, and and I like to move them around. I like to move it around the East Bay so more people can get a chance to come and see what we're about. Rally for Recovery is about people in recovery coming out and enjoying and showing the community how people can um overcome substance use disorders and mental health. Uh, it's just a day of free food, uh, entertainment with the band that we usually get. Um, this year it'll be uh, Neil and the Vipers

10:50 – 11:040

who is an alumni of me and Lewis. We both graduated with Neil. Oh, did you? Yes. Yeah. So, so Neil Neil comes out. He's been doing it for us. He did it for us for at Cold State Park for a couple of years. Um,

11:02 – 11:410

yeah. There's no alcohol. We have the 211 van that comes out. We have a bunch of tables that are set up and just, you know, giving information out. A lot of swag that's given out that day. Um, we have, uh, some speakers. We're going to give a few awards this year here for the first time. One is to the former director for East East Bay, uh, Tommy Joyce. We're going to give him a an award for bringing recovery support services to East Bay area. And then we're going to, um, also give the chief of police and chief um, Souza from the fire department an award.

11:40 – 12:250

It's going to be a surprise for all. Yeah, they don't. It was just something that I I came up with out of the tip of my nose because in Providence we give out a lot of reward. We give out rewards every year and I said, "Well, let's do something here in East Bay." And I I've worked closely with the last with both of those gentlemen over the last three years that I've been here at ECAP. Um and and they they they really care about the community. They care about um the people that have substance use. And many times their offices and the fire and rescue come over to our center instead of arresting somebody, they bring them and ask them for us to help them. That's wonderful. That's good. Hey judge, I want to thank you for what you do and I want to make a motion to approve that one day entertainment license. We have a second that motion. We have a motion and a second. All in favor? I

12:24 – 12:520

I. Good luck. Have fun. Thank you. Thanks guys. Again, I appreciate your time again. Thank you for what you do. Do you need us in session or do you need anything from us before we adjurnn? I make a motion to adjurnn. I will second that motion. All in favor? I had to do that. [Laughter] Hey, did you eat those lobsters yet? You don't invite me to
