Mr. Mayor, City Council, John Biggs with your Community Development Department. This evening, as the Mayor mentioned, we did have a couple of items on the agenda, but we're going to shorten that up to just discussing a potential preferred housing site. As the City Council recalls, we had the state certifier housing element back in May of this year. We got the letter from the state HCD letting us know that the housing had been certified along with all of these zoning code amendments and the general plan amendments that were included in that package of information One of the goals that the City Council has, aside from the goals and the programs that are part of the housing element, is to identify a preferred housing site. That sort of links up with the programs that we have in our housing element, specifically looking for opportunity sites in the city, really focusing on the list of identified housing sites that were adopted as part of the
