Informational: Climate Forward SLC Plan Update

The Council will receive a briefing from the Department of Sustainability on the status of the Climate Forward SLC Plan, an update to Salt Lake City's climate strategy. The Council will review the plan's Existing Conditions Report, which assesses Salt Lake City's current and future climate and pollution challenges and will prioritize the City's climate strategies over the next five to ten years. Formal adoption is anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027. Ordinance: Ballpark Zoning Map and Text Amendment

The Council will receive a briefing about a proposal that would amend the zoning of multiple properties related to the former Ballpark property as follows: - 55 West Paxton Avenue, 77 West 1300 South, 1355 and 1357 South West Temple, and 1356 South Main Street from PL (Public Lands) to MU-11 (Mixed-Use 11). - 1381 South West Temple from PL (Public Lands) and RMF-35 (Moderate Density Residential Multi-Family) to MU-11 (Mixed-Use 11) and MU-5 (Mixed-Use 5). - 1395 and 1397 South West Temple from RMF-35 (Moderate Density Residential Multi-Family) to MU-5 (Mixed-Use 5). The proposal includes a text amendment to the MU-11 standards relating to this site and the removal of the Ballpark-specific sign requirements. The proposal would establish zoning regulations that would align with the Ballpark NEXT Community Design Plan, which was adopted by the Community Reinvestment Agency Board in December 2025. Consideration may be given to rezoning the property to another zoning district with similar characteristics. The project is within Council District 5. Ordinance: Text Amendment for Short-Term Rental Business Licenses Follow-Up

The Council will receive a follow-up briefing about an ordinance that was adopted with the Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget enacting Chapter 5.13 of the Salt Lake City Code pertaining to short-term rental business licenses. The discussion will touch on potential options for changes to this ordinance, in advance of determining further action. Resolution: Capital Improvement Program

The Council will receive a briefing about the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which involves the construction, purchase, or renovation of buildings, parks, streets, or other City-owned physical structures. Generally, projects have a useful life of at least five years and cost $50,000 or more. The Council approves debt service and overall CIP funding in June with the annual budget process, while project-specific funding is approved by September 1 of the same calendar year.
