All right, Joey's here. We're going to call this meeting to order, please. Start with the Pledge of Allegiance, please.

Hi, thank you for everybody joining us, especially tonight. Before we get started, I'd like to have a motion to allow Council person Gillis to appear remotely. Thank you. And a second by Nate. Say yes, Alex. all right thank you um purpose of this meeting tonight is the bids came in to finish this building and the building across the way they want to start tomorrow so we have to fund them and this was probably the right thing to do to have this meeting um There were five people who bid this program. Bids came in from the lowest to the highest. The highest was just a shade under $300,000. We are obligated to take the lowest bid on this, plus we have some pieces of this that we must add into this to finish. tried to be as transparent in this as I could possibly be. But breakdown, we'll do 232.870 for Kemper, 8,000 to Covenant Heating and Cooling. And that is to put the mini split in the old PD and the former teacher's lounge. It's the last one that needs to be installed. We have incurred about $13,000 worth of work on the community center that Tony and Josh have done, and they've done a great job. They have blocked, they have sealed, and there is two new doors. The door on the northwest corner and the door on the north side facing Dave Rose's house will each be replaced so that they are usable with panic bars and everything. And Tony's able to install those. The city offices are going to move to this side of the hall. I think Shelby and I are going to go into the old PD Tracy and our new hire, whomever that may be, are going to go in the old teacher's lounge. They are going to put a window as soon as people walk in the door so people don't have to trek all the way down the hall. We do have an aging We're just going to try to make this as convenient as we can be. And then the PD is going to go in these three rooms across the hall. They're going to relocate the evidence so that the evidence officer has his office right there to do logging and stuff like that. And then we need to replace the doors coming in off the parking lot because they are just in bad shape and we've got a bid for that. So this is a total package. of 274 370 dollars um i did add about 10 in here um as a contingency because as everybody knows as soon as you open something up you find interesting things so um the architect that helped us with this bid is actually the architect that designed the gem in the 70s so they're very familiar with our with our complex but this ought to put the finishing touches kemper is going to line they're going to steel side this out here on what appears to be the old tile they're going to rebuild this wall out here where we've got that wonderful blue tarp and then they'll make sure that the the roof butts up and drains and they will be a second door out of this room because ada requires it um in the back and then we will close up that hallway to use for storage questions comments concerns Yes. I hadn't checked it yet, but what does the steel look like? Do we know aesthetically what it would look like?

From what I understand, it's going to be like red brick, so it's going to try to blend. Fantastic. Is that the question you were asking? Yes. Okay. And Tony did a bang-up job getting the paint to match on the gym side. He took a brick down to Sherwin-Williams, and they shot it to get that.

They'll send us a color chart, Alex, so we can choose that color to be utilized on the outside.

Where's Cam?

Cam. They're the ones that did the waterproofing. the below-grade waterproofing. They did a really great job. They did it on time. Actually, they were done early. But they want to start tomorrow. So we were told the work is scheduled to start on or after September 1 and be substantially completed on or before November 6. Now, if this works the way the teardown did, you know, we had like a three-month window for the demolition, and it was done in like six days. Now, I don't know that that'll go this fast, but... So they're going to focus on the exit. Yeah, they'll get this wall built, they'll get the exterior, they'll get the wall or the roof tucked up and tight and watertight. In the meantime, Covenant will come out and get the HVAC and the other ones. Tony's projected in probably six weeks to be done with that down there. And then we'll get the PD moved back up here. You said you and Shelby are going to go together which way? The old PD. tracy will be in the teacher's lounge yep you can walk up it'll be just like the counter but it's going to be this window and it's going to be eight feet inside the door instead of having to come all the way down the hall no No, there's two pieces to that, safety and convenience. Yep. Just a quick question. I know there were talks about maybe putting a doorway in the hallway there. And so that is the only access that the public has is to the window.

Is that still on the table or have we looked at that?

Well, there's going to be a doorway. The door that's there is going to be, they're not taking that out. No, no, that's not what I'm asking.

What I meant is in the hallway, I think when I had talked, I think either with Jeremy and Tracy in the hallway itself, making that hole that we're in the hallway and Herb's room.

So I understand now. yes there's still some talks about closing off this end of the hallway to separate it from the 40 the 501c3s so that this this end of this building is secure that's what you're asking right correct um tony's got some ideas but we want to be able to get everything done first and that is kind of a future project yep all right anything else um quick reminder that petitions are also now available if anybody wants to run for these three seats i know this seems really early for the for the april or for the march to 2027 election yep no 27. if there's nothing else i would take a motion to adjourn I have a motion and a second.
