City Council - Regular Meeting

This project here on Cabrillo starting at Gramercy is extending 280 feet of new concrete. So we're removing the old concrete and putting in brand new concrete. We're also adding tree wells. Right over here we have one of our tree wells. We're going to add seven trees in this section and irrigation. We poured over two days to not interrupt businesses. So yesterday we did the first section over here so people could get in and they can still access the businesses. And today we did this larger section. This will be something that will hopefully duplicate throughout the downtown area. So phase one of the project will be completed in the next few months, and then we'll look to extend this project in the near future.

I've been working for the city for 30 years, doing concrete work. It feels great. It came out nice. You know, the guys all have to be on the same page, working hard together. It's not easy, easy work, you know. The weather is getting a little hot, you know, in the summer times. Everybody's got to be on point. Teamwork came out nice.
