I'd like to call the special meeting order for August 4th, 2026. Everybody is here except we've got, I'm going to need, first of all, Vicki, you're on the phone, right?

Second. Okay, we've got a motion from Vice Mayor and a second from... Kano, you got that down? Okay. With that, our business item is the canvas of July 21st, 2026 primary election. Go ahead and introduce yourself for the public.

Good morning, Mayor, City Council. My name is Jasmine Pernicano, City Clerk. Thank you for the opportunity to present to you this morning. We are considering a resolution to declare and adopt the results for the July 21st, 2026 election. The city held this election for the purpose of electing the mayor and three council member seats to serve four-year terms beginning January 1st, 2027. Of the city's 66,092 registered voters, 17,049 ballots were cast, which is nearly 26% voter turnout. The city charter provides that candidates receiving a majority of the votes cast are declared elected in order of the highest number of votes received until all offices are filled. Joe Pizzillo received the highest number of votes for mayor, and the top three vote recipients for council member are Brandon Hampton, Sherry Loretano, and Vicki Gillis. Because all offices were able to be filled at the primary election, a general election is not required. Staff is recommending that the council adopt the resolution, declaring and adopting the results of the July 21st, 2026 primary election. And I'm available for any questions.
