No, I have not. Okay. Nate. Nate or Dan? There's Nate. There's Nate. Hey every golf course. We just finished a match in Popular Bluff. Oh man, you dog. We finished middle of the pack and Mr. Ferguson got another top 10. So, we're improving. Sweet. Good job. Yeah. Thank you, Dan. Dan. Hey. Hey. Sorry, that took me a second. My Zoom app had to reload. No problem. You're right on time. Well,

0:37 – 1:220

we have a quorum. So, I would say we um call this meeting to order. This is a Zoom meeting. It's five o'clock on April 13, 2026. This is a uh I don't know if we call it a special meeting or or or what, but special meeting of the city council, city of Cape Gerardo. Uh we'll begin with this call to order and a roll call vote. Miss Conrad. Mr. Bliss here. Mr. Cantrell here. Mr. Johnson here. Mr. Preston here. Miss Randall. I don't see here. Uh Mr. Thomas here.

1:24 – 2:000

And I'm here as well. Oh, I apologize. And Miss Kinder, mayor here. Um, okay. We have an agenda. Is there a motion to approve? So moved. Second. Second. Okay. Well, we just have one item tonight, and that is to canvas the returns and declare the results of the April 7, 2026 election. Is there a motion to do that? We've all gotten the um data. So move. Second. Second. Oh, and there's uh Miss Randall showing up. Yeah.

1:59 – 2:140

Yep. Um Okay. So, that's been seconded. Any discussion about the the results? All right. Seeing none, all in favor, please say I. I. I. I.

2:12 – 3:250

Any opposed? All right. That motion carries. If there's no other business, we can adjourn in what is perhaps the fastest city council meeting. We maybe have had one or two of these super short ones before, but um that's all of our business. And folks, I'll just say it's been a real pleasure um working with all of you for the past some of you, Dan, the past eight years. Yeah. Um you you and I hold the record of the longest tenure, but um for most of you at least a couple. So, um it's been it's been really great. I've enjoyed I I can't say truthfully I've enjoyed every single minute, but overall more and more I'm starting to feel really really uh grateful for the for the entire uh for the entire time. So um I just want to say thank you to all of you especially all the uh Dr. Haskin, you and your entire administration um have just been uh you've made our work very easy. Not very easy all the time, but but easier um than uh if we were kind of left to our own devices. So, um it's been great to work with such a professional staff um that that is leading the city very well. So,

3:23 – 3:380

and I just I just want to say thank you, Stacy, for all your leadership on the council and uh and all your other efforts with the school board and everything over the years and I wish you all the best. Thank you.

3:37 – 4:140

Yeah. Yeah. Stacy, I I'd like to say also, I've only had the chance for two years, but you endured I can't imagine it be a tougher two years than what you've endured the last two years that I've that I've seen u what's all happened between the water, the crime, the fire, and everything else. And so it it took you pretty tough. You got some pretty tough skin. And and uh people really need to understand how how much they should appreciate you whether they do or not. So, uh, I thought you I thought you were a great leader, Stacy, and I did enjoy working with you for the last couple years.

4:13 – 5:030

Thank you very much. You know, it's funny you say that. I'll just share real quick. I had to go to my annual uh medical checkup and they they were drawing some blood and the young gal was uh she's like, "Oh, you've got some tough skin." I said, "Oh, you have no idea. It's actually uh yeah, there have been some, you know, the past few years we we've had to deal with some some big big things and um thank you all. It's taken a a huge team to to do some of that and um it's been it's it's I've really appreciated all of you in in all of that work for sure. Um certainly uh couldn't have done it um without everyone really being on the on the same page and and um

5:00 – 5:110

really just um very grateful um very grateful for all the all the experiences. It's been good. Been Yeah. Thank you.

5:09 – 5:520

I'm gonna take a second here to just say something, Stacy. You know, it takes an exceptional person to handle all of these exceptional changes that we've talked about in this city and it has been an absolute honor to to to work with you these past eight years and uh it's we've you know done we've seen a lot of ups and downs and a lot of stuff but man it's it's been incredible. Uh, and so I'm just I'm I it's so bad because, you know, now that this time with the city of Cape is coming to an end for me, I am so nostalgic and I I just don't want to stop. Um, because it's like we've there's just so many more things to do.

5:51 – 6:120

I know. And so it's just like you just want to keep going and it's just like I just want to keep going and I want to get the emails from Gail bugging me about my financial disclosures that I know I still haven't sent in and I apologize. I will do that before my email gets shut off. Yeah. What are we gonna do without the

6:10 – 6:410

But it's all that stuff that I I just love it, you know, and and I I I've enjoyed so much getting to work with all of you guys, all the other council members, all of our city staff, and and especially you, Stacy, because I don't know where life would have brought us together in another situation, but I'm really thankful that it did because you've been an excellent uh, you know, compatriate to be with these past eight years dealing with everything from Confederate monument removals to co. So,

6:39 – 7:230

we were before you got on, we were uh talking about um the first Zoom calls that we had to have our city council meetings in. And uh for those of you who did not get to enjoy 2020 on the city council, I'll just tell you didn't miss you didn't miss much good. It was a tough one, but uh yeah, Dan, that was that was a a fun I will just have this vision of Gail going up in between speakers fogging the the deis with uh with with spray. You remember that? Oh, I remember that. Well, yes. Yeah, that that was good. That was really good. We survived it though. And at least we we all came out on the other side of that pretty well.

7:20 – 7:310

We did. We did. And uh stronger stronger for it. But um anyway, yeah. Um thank you all. It's it's been it's been good.

7:29 – 8:240

I want to say something last but not least. Uh I just want to thank you so much for your leadership um your strength and toughness and courage uh to be the front of our council. Um it takes a lot. Um, you endured a lot, but you have many great things that you've accomplished. Um, and I just want to thank you for that. Um, you are the first woman to lead Kate in that arena. And if anybody was to come behind you, it's a lot of shoes to fill. And so, thank you for your leadership and so many capacities. That was not easy, but you stepped up to the challenge. And you only going to be one of a few to do that. So, thank you. Thanks, Tama. I appreciate that. Thank you all. That's that's very uh encouraging. I appreciate it.

8:23 – 9:040

Thanks. Um well, I think without further ado, then I'll entertain the motion to adjurnn. So move. Second. All in favor, please say I. I. All right, we are adjourned. Thank you all. Best of luck to you. Thanks. You too, Dan. Brian, have fun at the Masters. Thanks, buddy. You already been there. Yeah, you can see her on your way home. There's a real golfer there. Thanks, guys. See you guys. All right. Bye. How do I sign out of this thing? Here we go. All right. Bye, guys.
