Request by Slammers Futbol Club for Weekend Light Usage at Arroyo Park

Staff recommends the Parks, Beaches and Recreation (PB&R) Commission approve the request from the Slammers Futbol Club to use lights on the following weekend days from dusk to 8:00 p.m.: September 20 & 27, October 17 & 24 and November 21 at Arroyo Park.

Reforestation Request - 370 23rd Street / Front 3 and 4; and 378 23rd Street / Front 2, 3, 5, and 6

Staff recommends that Parks, Beaches & Recreation Commission (PB&R) Commission consider the reforestation request for the removal and replacement of six Blue Gum Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) located in front of 370 and 378 23rd Street. The applicant, Ms. Debra Silvestre, residing at 378 23rd Street, has provided the required petition signatures to place the request onto the agenda of the PB&R Commission. If approved by the Commission, there will be a one-for-one replacement tree for each tree removed with three 36-inch box Gingko (Gingko biloba) trees planted at the site and three planted elsewhere in the city.

Special City Tree Removal and Replacement Request - 1817 Glenwood Lane (Front 1)

Staff recommends that the Parks, Beaches, and Recreation (PB&R) Commission approve the removal and replacement request of the Special City Lemon-Scented Gum Eucalyptus (Corymbia citriodora) (ID# 3273155) located at 1817 Glenwood Lane (Front 1). Staff's request meets the procedural requirements established in Section IV B of the City Council's G-1 Policy. If approved by the Commission, there will be a one-for-one replacement tree, 36-inch box, Crape Myrtle "Natchez" (Lagerstroemia "Natchez") installed at the City's cost.

Tree Donation - Bob Henry Park

Staff recommends the Parks, Beaches & Recreation (PB&R) Commission review and approve the donation of a Crape Myrtle "Natchez" (Lagerstroemia "Natchez") at Bob Henry Park requested by Maggie and Don West. The proposed donation complies with City Council Policy B-17 - Parks, Facilities and Recreation Program Donations.
