Public Works Council Committee - Regular Meeting

It's 05:00. We wouldn't call the public works council meeting meeting to order. First item, roll call. Please mark your attendance. We do have a quorum. Next item is approval of minutes. Minutes 25,096 from the 11/04/2025 Public Works meeting. I make a motion to approve unless there's any corrections. Second. Motion second to approve.

Any comments or questions concerning the minutes? If not, please mark your ballot. Minutes will stand approved. New business ordinances to be introduced. Ordinance 25,041, an ordinance amending the membership of the stormwater management board body.

Whereas ordinance zero seven five o established the stormwater management board and set the membership to include a specific number of technical and lay members, whereas ordinance 19 double o two permanently filled one of the technical positions of the stormwater management board with the president of Northeast Arkansas Home Builders Association, whereas effective 12/31/2025, the Northeast Arkansas Home Builders Association chapter will dissolve. Now therefore, ordained by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that Section one, the membership of the Stormwater Management Board be amended to remove the President of the Northeast Arkansas Homebuilders Association as a permanent technical member of the Board Section II, the vacated position previously held by the president of the Northeast Arkansas Home Builders Association be filled in the same manner as other technical members on the board. I have a question. Chairman, so I can get this right. This is the one with like jets because I think last time they were at finance. Are they supposed to be at this meeting? It's finance. Okay. I just want to make sure. Are there any other departments that are supposed to be this one? Are there any other departments that usually come show this one because I'm kinda confused. Who addresses public works? Right. Addresses public Engineering and sanitation. Street department.

Yeah, that's what I thought, okay. Right. When we dissolve public services, what was the thought process? I can't remember what the thought process was.

They would split that between public safety and finance. The two actions of those committees would be split between those two since they didn't meet that often, that's all I know.

Yeah, nothing extra came Came to public works. I thought it was public works. Let's see. Well, but Jets usually ends up being financed. Jets might have come to public works. We haven't had anything before us from that since it has dissolved though, to my knowledge. Because I guess in the old

days, public safety was mostly parks and jets, I guess, right? Not public safety, public works.

Wouldn't the, no that was Parks that had the cemetery committee on it.
