Tim, I haven't stopped by and looked at the house. Does it look good? Yeah.
There's some siding on it yet, but yeah. Go on, Robert.
This is where it makes this air again, playback level load air again. Get out of it and get back in it.
So we junk it and get a whole new system. Maybe a new building.

Big item here, as you are aware, City Clerk Cindy Bauer, she's going to be retiring on November 30, 2026. I think, Cindy, you have over 30 years? CINDY BAUER, 31. CHRIS RODGERS, 31. CHRIS RODGERS, 31. CHRIS RODGERS, 31.
CHRIS RODGERS, 31.

In preparation for this upcoming recruitment that we'll be doing and ensuring that the city remains competitive and attractive qualified candidates, staff engage Cottingham and Butler. It's who's done our wage and compensation study the last few times. They do standalone wage reviews to assess this and do a market analysis for this position. The analysis reviewed compensation and position classifications across more than 20 comparable jurisdictions. It was the same pool that we reviewed for our past compensation studies. And with consideration given into organizational size, position, responsibilities, and comparable municipal functions. Based on that market analysis, and a review of scope and responsibilities of this position. Staff is recommending that the city clerk position be reclassified from exempt grade J to which seller range of $67,184 to the upper range of $86,382 to exempt grade L, which is $78,499 to $100,000. 1,921 on the top end. Again, this was reviewed and also put in, it was reviewed with our existing table. There are currently no positions at grade L, but it was placed there on that review. So this position, you know, it's really our quarterback of our administrative team. We always mention that. Handling records, you know, they're the statutory keeper of records. They review our assessment roles. They are really handling agendas, committees, your person you're communicating with most often, other than elections. I mean, just kind of one of the biggest hires we can make at this point. Cindy, again, I can't commend Cindy enough. You know, she's been here for a long time. She's told me all the battles she's had throughout the years.
And administrators.
And, you know, I'll say. And mayors. And mayors. Yeah, and so she's been through it all. And, you know, I personally will say, you know, since I've been here, been here about 10 years, Cindy has been a big-time friend, and she's, She helped me out a lot when I first came here and has been a friend and, you know, fellow colleague ever since. So, anyways, just want to commend her for her service to the city and thank her. So, you know, we're going to be going out for this position in the next, I'm hoping, Friday.
I'm going to post. So, we're hiring for this position. We're not, there's nobody internal that we're. No. But they could apply. They could apply. Yep.
We definitely want to go out for a statewide request for interest.
Okay.
All right. So suggested motion would be in order to recommend or not recommend to council the classification of the city clerk position from exempt grade J to exempt grade L on the city's compensation schedule, effective the starting date for the next city clerk employee.
Lime will move to recommend to the City Council the classification of the City Clerk position from exempt grade J to exempt grade L on the City's compensation schedule, effective at the starting date of the next City Clerk's employee.
Second? I'll second. Okay, we have a motion and a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion carries. Any miscellaneous business or communication?
We are going to have another position coming forward, the assistant city administrator's position, and also several changes to the personnel manual coming forward. And do we have a preliminary date for that yet?
Cindy and I were just gaming that out.
Yeah, we're thinking about that. Thinking of, since you wanted to have it on the next council meeting, the September 24th, you're looking at Tuesday the 22nd of September or Wednesday the 23rd of September at 4 or 4.30 or 5, which any of the three, whatever works best for you guys.
It'll be more involved. We'll have the one position, but then we have accident policy stuff maybe. And then...
We use and Like travel reimbursement, you know Yeah, we're working through that. Okay.
When is Mike retiring?
Probably two years from now, okay So we that's part of that we want to be ahead of the game We well mostly why we want to make sure that we leave Really important.
All right. Anything else?
Did you need any feedback on the 22nd or 23rd or anything like that?
Well, just let me know. Yeah, if you can do it before we go to the next agenda. I mean, raise your hand if whatever day works best, Tuesday or Wednesday. Who wants Tuesday the 22nd?
I'm good at it. Okay. So let's plan on the 22nd and then. What time?
4, 4.30, or 5? Since you said it might take an hour or who knows how long, do you want to do it right at 4? Are you able to? Or Matt, were you thinking?
As of right now, I'm okay with it.
Or did you think you had a little later time?
Probably a little later.
4.30?
Yeah, work. Yeah, can I do 4.30?
So 4.30? Okay.
There's always one in the crowd that has to work.
So 4.30 on September 22nd.
September. We all can't be retired.
Yeah. Okay. Anything else? No, Your Honor. All right. Motion for adjournment.
I will move to adjourn at 5.13.
I'll second that. We have a motion and a second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed? We're out of here. Thank you, everyone. Thank you.
Thank you to the public members that survived.
