Thank you. All right. The owl anybody here. All right. I won't say what I really think. Me either to be honest. Then I have to ask about it. I I haven't started.
Yeah. They're there. I mean you buddy been away for a long time. I'm going to do that.
We don't have to change it back. You're halfway there now. Yeah, it'll be right in spring. Exactly. Jenny hasn't noticed it yet or she'll she fix it. What? Nothing. The clock. Nothing. Yes. Nothing that concerns you. Yeah. Yeah. Someone else can climb up there this time. That's fine. Not sure. here.
Noel. Oh, I'm glad you said that. Sean is here. Sorry, Sean. I wasn't paying attention. It's going to change. I know it's coming.
There it is. At 6 o'clock. I'd like to call the meeting to order. Please start with the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. Welcome everybody. May we have a roll call, please? Christie. Yep. Gillis here. Bugs here. Smith here. Fleming. Rose here.
Cruzen here. And I have attorney Oshanosy joining us on teams this evening if we have any questions. Um, everybody's had a chance to look at the minutes at this time. I'll take a motion or questions, comments, or concerns. Take a motion to approve last meeting minutes. Second.
I have a motion from Alex, a second from Jenny to approve the Barna City Council meeting minutes from December 1st, 2025. All in favor say I. I opposed. That was carried. I have no correspondence this evening. Leaves me to you, Herb. I got just a couple of things. Um the we're obligated to decorate Don McCord and his folks um grave every year. Twice a year it was in the will. So that's been taken care of. And every every month I tell you that we're 100% in compliance with the ILCOD, the Illinois Department of Cemeteries. And I thought it might be interesting to know what that really means. And what it means is that we have entered since 2010 every burial 517 since 2010. We also have to have a burial re burial permit from the funeral home. We'd love to have an obituary. It must require a deed. And on the location or we must require the location on the burial permit and instead of writing that on there, we have created a second document that the state has approved to put the um location of that burial on there. with the December newsletters out and I gave each of you a copy of it. Um, we're going to do that every two months and we concentrated on, you know, our founding fathers more than anything. And that's just a a few of them. We'll get more and more involved in that. The copy of the newsletter is online, but it's also a copy at the museum, the library here in the office, city office, and in the
cemetery office. Um, we have finally closed out the PNC account, uh, that Ralph Taylor um, memorial. Um, they were holding tax money, $4511. Well, they finally released that. and we just deposited that today. Um, cemetery cleanup went pretty well. We didn't have any complaints from the world out there. Um, unlike last time, um, Sedick called and they wanted to know if we could donate a burial plot. We have four that have been given to us for that purpose. And so I told them, yes, we can do that. um is not a resident of Farmington, you know, they don't have any family there or no no means to take care of their burial. So, um the board agreed that yes, we do have those four lots and yeah, we can do that. So, just so you know what's going on there. Um they have started putting the new ceiling in this cemetery office. you know, we're taking down this ceiling and the lights and we're putting up 2 by twos um and new they call them puck lights, the little round things and they're real bright, I guess. So, we we'll see. We hope that turns out well. Um and instead of we asking the city to take care of that, the cemetery office are we're just paying for that. we just transferred the funds to you guys for that instead of having to, you know, wait and see what all it takes. But anyhow, so that's what's going on with the cemetery. Any questions?
Okay. Thank you, sir.

So, um we have we have to pay 50% of this um this work and and this is really the parking lane parking lane surfaces from Spence City to the nursing home on South Main. So, it's a total of 12300 $123,894 of which the city is going to be responsible for 61,947.
