Board of Supervisors Addendum - Regular Meeting

Well, good afternoon. And this is a special special session of the county board supervisors to approve our tax levy. I will pass it over to clerk Monday.

Oh, call. Supervisor Kano. Supervisor Christie.

Supervisor Hines. Supervisor Scott?

Chair Allen? Here. Let the record show Supervisor Hines is absent. All other board members are present.

Thank you. Next time on the agenda is the Pledge of Allegiance. There you go. This is always awkward on Zoom, but we will go ahead and get it going.

Chair Allen? Yeah. We do have Jenny Mabee is on to present the pledge.

Oh, excellent. Thank you. I'm going to go to my office.

Yeah, go ahead. Okay.

So Ms. Mabee, if you don't mind coming off mute and leading us through the pledge of allegiance, we would be deeply honored.

Anything interesting you want to share going on in your neck of the woods?

Well, I've only been in my neck of the woods for the last month. I work in procurement in the DMC division.

All right. Well, the woods will just continue to get more and more complex, I'm sure. So, thank you. We appreciate you coming on and doing this for us. And welcome. Thanks. The next item on our agenda is the land acknowledgement statement that will be read by Supervisor Scott.

Thank you, Chair Allen. On behalf of Pima County residents, we honor the tribal nations who have served as caretakers of this land from time immemorial and respectfully acknowledge the ancestral homelands of the Tohono O'odham Nation and the multi-millennial presence of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe within Pima County. Consistent with Pima County's commitment to diversity and inclusion, we strive toward building equal partner relationships with Arizona's tribal nations. Thank you.

Item number four on the agenda is agenda adjustments.

So I will look to Clerk Mendriquez to see if there are any. Chair Allen, there are no agenda adjustments. Thank you. Great.

So then we will move on to agenda item number five. This is the hearing for the tax levy resolution. Is there anyone present?

Anyone present who wishes to speak to this item? Chair Howland, we do not have anyone that signed up to speak on this item.

Okay. Oh, yes, Supervisor Kano.

Were you going to go to the administrator for? Yes. Okay, got it. I was prepared to offer a motion, but will defer to the administrator.

So, Administrator Lesher, I don't know if there is a, presentation or comments or context that anyone from administration wanted to provide.

No, thank you, Chair Allen, members of the board. What you have before you is simply the levy for the taxes related to the budget that you have approved in the past. Thank you.

Well then, I will move to close the hearing and approve resolution number 2026-43.

Seconded by Supervisor Scott. Is there any discussion? Hearing none, I believe we take this to a roll call vote. Or maybe I bet not.

Yes. The item resolution, let me read that back. Resolution number 2026-43 passes on a 3-1 vote. Our next item is agenda number 26. This is a hearing for the tax collection resolution. Is there anyone present who wishes to speak on this item?

Chair Ellen, nobody has signed up to speak on this item.

Okay. Yes. Seeing as though there's nobody present to address the board, I move to close the public hearing and approve resolution number 2026-44, tax collection resolution. And I also want to extend my thank you to our employees in administration and also in the finance department for all of their due diligence to getting us to today.

I'll second the motion.
