Let's bow our heads. Father, we thank you Lord for this day. Lord, we thank you that you are our source. And I just pray over this city meeting and I pray Lord that you will lead and that you will guide. Lord, we look to scripture and and we say that Lord that unless the Lord builds the house Lord that we labor in vain and unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. So we know that you are our source and we thank you for that. And I pray for every first responder and um every person that's in this city, Lord. And our goal tonight is to glorify you. Jesus name we pray. Amen. To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 4 April 9th meeting. All right.

Thank you, Mr. President. Good evening. Uh, ladies and gentlemen, the Zenior City Council, uh, my name is Thomas Scrivens. By the grace of God, I still reside at 725 Lexington Avenue here in the city of hospitality. Mr. President, I rise from my seat this evening to bring to your attention that the uh, traffic circle at 42 and East Church Street, the letters on the uptown outbound side that say Mayor James T. Henry, some of those letters either have been vandalled or have been uh taken away by the weather. So, we'd like uh some attention to that. Mayor James T. Henry served this city for 28 years and uh his monument uh should be maintained as it has been and we're happy about it. Uh Mr. President also in terms of the the street pavement program that we have uh initiated or we going to try to initiate with the help of our voters again. Uh we have a five-year plan and I'd like to see at least a couple of streets on the five-year plan deleted and amended and putting in North Patent Street. That needs immediate attention. And the city not only has a 45 million gallon installation there, but uh it's the city street and you know if it's in front of my house is different, but it's in front of your house. So we want to see how you how you play that. Uh we see that you did well out on Toller or Tyler Road in front of your house. You did well here in front of your house. So we'll see what that comes to. Also, Mr. President like to bring to the council's attention that we do have microphones here now that we can hear people speaking when they're transacting in the public's business where it's not

guessing what did they say. We don't have to worry if they talk low because the microphones now will amplify the sound and carry it to all the cubic feet in the room. And we thank you for that improvement, Mr. City Manager and all who were involved in that. Mr. President, and uh finally uh we'd hope that while we're doing the paving that we don't forget our stepchild and that's Cincinnati Avenue between second and third. Uh that's our stepchild and we need to do something about that. Fourth width like to uh say with sadness today we announced that the passing of our classmate his name was Jim Miller. We called him Soapie. He was the top basketball player in our era. Uh was inducted in the Zen Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. He was currently a a retired physician from the US Army. I think he retired as a colonel or Lieutenant Colonel. And he was a pediatrician and also took a fellowship in radiology. We'd like to say farewell to our friend Jim Soapie Miller, class of 1966. And with that, Mr. President, we thank you for your attention to the matters that we've raised before this body. It's my first time addressing this body as seated and uh I like what I see and uh we just want to have one final thing before we go to our seat is uh we're imploring this council to look at the name of Hospitality Square for our new development in downtown. We cannot sleep the opportunity to have a hospitality square in the city of hospitality. Airgo Tianan Square, Red Square, Manger Square, St. Peter Square, Time Square, Public Square, Fountain Square. Thank you, Mr. President.
