Thank you, Mayor Stagger. Next up is Mr. People, city administrator. Uh thank you, Miss Amik. Uh just one item um to report on is I I will be sending out either later tonight or tomorrow uh a copy of the consultant report for the community partner strate strategic analysis uh for review. Um I'm not sure if it's going to prompt uh any uh agenda item in the future uh for any further discussion, but wanted to make sure you all had that. Uh we are meeting with um or we're having a holding a community roundt. Uh it's a quarterly meeting with our work with our community partners. Uh that is going to be held on uh Thursday this week. Hannah has already distributed out the um the report to them for their review and in preparation of that meeting as well.
Thank you, Mr. Peoples. Any questions? Okay. Next up is Fairfield County Sheriff Sergeant Strong. Thank you, Mrs. Aan. Good evening, council. I do not have anything. I will have at the next council meeting my monthly stat form for you for the month of December. I apologize. I took I don't apologize. I took a little bit of time off for the holiday [laughter] so I might not been able to get to it. I've been uh catching up today. So, but I'll have that for you in the next meeting, but I'll be happy to take any questions you have. Thank you, Sergeant Strong. Any questions? Hopefully, you got some good rest over the holidays.
Very enjoyable. Thank you. Okay. Um law director Mr. books. Thank you, Mrs. Amik. I don't have anything to report this evening, but I'm happy to answer any questions that council may have.
Anything for Mr. Faultz. Okay, moving on. Uh, finance director Amanda Jackson. Thank you, Mrs. Aink. Uh, well, it is January 5th, so I'm busy wrapping up last year. Um, we did end up balancing our books already. Uh we accomplished that today. So, we're moving right along with all of that. Um the only thing I have for you this evening is uh a question if any of you would like or need more business cards. Uh we're going to be doing an order. So, think about that. Um if you could get back to me in the next day or so, we can get moving. Um if you are interested in getting those to hand out to our residents when you speak with them. So, that is all I have. Thank you, Mrs. Jackson. Any questions? Okay, development director, Mr. Hair.
Thank you, Mrs. Ach. Uh, we did publish the planning and zoning agenda today. We have a full agenda coming up for next week's meeting. Um, we have a the final development plan for sub area A of Miller Farms, which is the single family portions of Miller Farms. That's on the agenda. Uh there's also a reszoning request and a preliminary plan for what they're referring to as the estates at Miller Farms, which is the property directly um to the west of Miller Farms along Hayes Road. So um it'll be a busy meeting coming up um next Monday evening. And then just a reminder that the the ribbon cutting cutting for the library is this Saturday at 10 a.m.
Uh that's at their their new location at 123 Grove Road. And so hopefully some of you will be able to make it out to that event. Uh for the newer council members, um you can go on the website and sign up to get notifications when any agendas are posted. if you want to keep follow along with what's happening at our boards and commissions, um, you have that ability to do that if you want to get on there. I'm happy to help set you up with that if you would like it. Thank you, Mr. Hair. Any questions?
Uh, I have a quick question for you, Mr. Hair. Um, if you know or can disclose uh, the developers that are going to be joining forces with Willox on the Miller Farm projects, the the estates and then also the residential portion of Miller Farms. The applicant for the um sub area A of the Miller Farms is Rockford Homes and so that's who is proposing to to develop the single family lots there. Uh Will Cox Communities is the applicant on the estates at Miller Farm. So there's no other builders identified as part of that. Thank you.
Um I have a question for sorry uh this is for Mr. Peoples and Mr. Hair. a um SIP list I believe the capital improvement plan list we will be talking about coming up. Did I do I understand that correctly? Yeah, I plan to have that included in the um next meeting agenda. Okay. And Mr. Hair, maybe this is more directed at you. The cross reference between the SIP list and the community plan and the action items. Um, is that will that be clear when we see the SIP list and cross reference to the community plan action items?
I don't know that we'll specifically reference the plan, but we'll reference the plan when putting together the final list. I'm not sure that the actual plan itself has a a line item or anything that says community plan, if that's what you're referring to. Okay. I just wanted to know if I guess I was thinking about it making sure that we are still following that community plan and we're putting the funding in accordance with that. So, okay, great. Thank you. Any other questions for Mr. Hair, Mr. Moore?
And just to piggy back off Mr. McLaclin's question, Mr. um for the the estates. Um we shouldn't anticipate hearing who a potential builder is until the the development plan is approved just like before, I would assume. Right. I would imagine that that will be the case. Yes. That they'll they'll try to gain the approvals for that reasoning and development and then find identify builders. There was a number that were interested in the Miller Farms, only one of which was successful. So, I'd imagine there's still a number of others that want to be involved in that. Perfect. Thank you.
Anything else for Mr. Hair? Thank you, Mr. Hair. Um, this might be the lightest agenda in history. Um, there are no uh ordinances up for third reading, second reading, or first reading. So that will take us to council reports. Um the first work session and council meeting will be Tuesday, January 20th, sorry, the 2nd, um at 6 PM. the work session and council meeting uh following that will be Monday, February 2nd at 6 pm. And then the work session for uh Tuesday, February 17th will also begin at 6:00 p.m. On the agenda this evening, there are a number of council connect meetings that have been set up and we as council are in the process of deciding how we will divvy up that list. And um we usually have no more than three council members who attend the council connect and we invite the public to certainly join us um at that meeting because the meeting is essentially for members of the community so that we have uh you have our ear at that time and anytime actually. So thank you Mr. Bennett for coordinating that. Appreciate it. Um I will go through the list. I think maybe there might be one or two reports. So the first uh council committee is the uh Canal Winchester Human Services. Mr. Sheay.
Yeah. Thank you, President AIC. Um for December, the community food pantry provided 4,372 meals and served 608 individuals in our community. uh 25 year to date, the food pantry served 5,927 unduplicated people and distributed a total of 75,74 meals. That's tremendous. Uh during the year, [snorts] they welcomed 165 new families who accessed pantry services for the first time. The senior transportation program, that's a winner, remained very active in December, providing 866 one-way trips and over 8,200 miles to help seniors safely access medical appointments, essential services, and for 2025 overall. The seniors really were ringing up the miles. They had 4,195 one-way trips in log, 33,749 miles. Thank you to human services for all the services they provide to our community. Thank you, Mr. Shay. Um, the next item is the Canal Winchester Industry and Commerce Corporation. Um, we will be hearing from Mayor Steager uh probably at the next meeting about his appointment of the representative to that committee. The next group is the Canal Winchester Joint Recreation District, Mr. Moore.
Yes. Uh, next meeting is January 13th. Uh starting at 6:30, um we will be welcoming our newest board members. I said Tuesday, I'll explain. Um but yes, it's a Tuesday. Um at 6:30, we'll be welcoming uh our newest board member, Will Bennett. Welcoming back our newest board member, Will Bennett. Um along with the school rep and our community, new community rep. So, we'll have a lot of new people on the board. Um, spring registrations will be going out shortly um within the next week or week and a half. So, anybody who has kids in those sports, you'll see the emails start hitting you. Um, and we'll have a new new sport uh golf hitting the hitting uh the same time. So, that's it.
Great. It's a lot of rambling. Thank you, Mr. Moore. Um, anything from destination? I know Mr. Buskerk is no longer with us, but does anyone have anything they want to report? Oh, there's an app.
Yeah. Oh, yes. Yes. Thank you, Mr. Shag. Yes. For anyone in the community, um, occasionally on social media, you'll see someone who said, "How do I find out what's going on in Canal Winchester, there is a destination app available in the app stores and you can download that and find out all of the activities and there are always plenty things to do in Canal Winchester. So, I would encourage you if you've not downloaded that app that you take the time to do so. Thank you, Mr. Shay. Mr. Busker would be very proud. Um, Chamber of Commerce, uh, is there anything to report?
Yeah, a couple updates. So, uh, first we want to welcome our newest board members. We have four new board members, uh, with the Chamber of Commerce. Uh Ally Ben with Ohio Health, Megan Bell with the Megan Bell Group, uh Stephanie Fields with the Canal Winchester Local School District, and Greg Hesterman with Remax Realy. Um also, nominations are being accepted through the end of this week for the Chamers's annual awards, including business of the year, business person of the year, and pillar of the community. Anyone can submit uh a nomination for these awards. The awards night is on Friday, February 27th at brewog. Submit nominations and register for the awards night at canalwinchester.com. And lastly, we want to welcome our newest members, Buckeye Automotive Family and Assured Restoration.
Thank you, Mr. Mclofflin. We certainly appreciate all of our local businesses. And last but not least, the Sustainability Commission. Um, any carryover you'd like to report on, Mr. Benner? Yeah, their first meeting of the year, first meeting of the year will be Wednesday at 6 PM here in this uh room. Um we do have uh members of city staff uh coming to present um sunshine law open meetings. So just a a kind of a you know grounding in that um as as since they are as the commission is sort of an arm of the city. So we're going to do that. um I plan on attending. Um we'll be obviously welcoming a new council representative to that group, Miss Deweiler. Um and I have some documents I need to share with that group. Um there was some um additional discussion about a Earth Day cleanup. Um and so um I'm sure that'll be a topic of conversation at the meeting this great. So hopefully they will continue to make progress on that event because I think that um certainly has an opportunity to be a really key signature event for the group.
That's great. Earth Day is in April, right? Correct. Yeah. Yeah. So it's kind of quick. Yeah. Hopefully 2026 won't go as fast as 2025 did. [laughter] Okay. Um thank you all for those reports. Is there any old or new business that anyone would like to discuss? Okay. Is there a motion to adjurnn? So moved. Second. Motion made by Mr. Sheay. Uh motion made by Mr. Sheay. Second by Mr. Bennett.
