All right, we're all here. Time to start the special meeting of the Richmond City Council. We'll begin with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

Next we'll move to public comment on consent calendar items only There's anyone joining us online that would like to address the council on the consent calendar item Contract amendment number two with Bob Murray and associates for recruitment services.

Please raise your hand at this time We have one in-person speaker Cordell Handler So good evening again mayor Martinez council Cordell Handler and I have looked at this contract with Bob Murray and associates and I think they will do a great job. And I say that because how do you think we got our police chief, Bob Murray and Associates? And I have got complete faith they can pull this off again. So if you want to include, I do agree with the contract. So the reason you ought to consider them is because their responsiveness is on point. So that's one. And then number two, If you want to include the stakeholders, you got to include the youth because they can bring a whole lot of knowledge, get their perspective on this for the city attorney position. So you got to get the youth involved. So I like this contract. So I'm asking the council to approve it as is.

The vote is unanimous With that Mr. Mayor if I may I would like to adjourn tonight's meeting in memory of Jerry Kent who was for many years general manager of East Bay Regional Park District and after retirement was very active with wildfire safety and actually joined us in an alliance visit with CONFIRE Chief McAllister a week before his passing away. He left us and his passion for public safety, for wildfire safety, his great work, his activism, his incredible memory amount of data and collecting pictures, videos of wildfires in the past hundred years in East Bay Hills has left great memories of him for all in the East Bay Hills who work for wildfire safety.

And I'd also like to include Ms. Ernestine Martin, who has had a long, beautiful life here in Richmond. She passed at the age of 100. So bless everyone. With that, we're adjourned.
