Any nays? If I can have the applicant come up to the podium, state your name for the record and address, and you may present your application.

1:39 – 3:27Speaker 2

OK. Hello, my name is Gia Bateman. I am here as a representative on behalf of No Limit Construction, who has applied for the permit for Marlene Frank, who is the homeowner at 16 Meadowbrook Road. Basically, as you can see on the plans, the proposed addition is toward the back of the house. We are proposing or requesting a variance for the side yard setback, which is currently set at 15 feet. It is currently a pre-existing non-conforming dwelling, single family home, one story. Basically the side yard, if you're looking at the house on the right side, which is the north side of the home, that is currently the foundation is at 14.3 feet. So it is 8.4 feet. inches into the setback as is. So what Marlene is proposing to do is put the addition onto the back and just continue the current house line as it is already. So the addition is why I'm here for the variance in order to build that addition to match the preexisting nonconforming house line. So it would end up being 12.3 inches to the property line with the roof and gutter overhang. So from the foundation, it's 14.4 inches. Again, like I said, 8.6 inches into the property line from the foundation. Do you have any specific questions or need any more information from me?

3:32Speaker 5

This is a one story addition, I assume?

3:34Speaker 2

Yes, single story, single family home.

3:43Speaker 3

If you can just, for the record, state what your hardship is.

3:49 – 4:30Speaker 2

Well, the current hardship for Marlene is just that She was looking to add on more space to her home. She was looking to move her laundry from the basement to the first floor as she's getting older. She has two teenage children that are planned to stay in the home through college, so she's looking just for a little bit more space. If she were to build onto the home do a bump in, I guess you would say, to meet the side yard setback. It would mess with the framing and the layout of the home, as well as just the aesthetic look of having a clean line on the one side.

4:35 – 4:56Speaker 3

Any further questions from the board? Is there anybody in support of this application? Is there anybody in support of this application? Ma'am? If you want to come up and just speak. If you want to speak, you can just come up, state your name and address.

5:05 – 6:18Speaker 1

Margaret Begum, I live at 11 Meadowbrook Road. I live kitty corner to Marlene. I got a letter, and I didn't know. I had heard that she might be putting an edition on, but I was curious why I got a letter. Asked some of my neighbors. Everybody denied getting a letter but me, so I just went down and knocked on her door and said, what are you going to do? So she was explaining to me what the issue was, and I mean... I don't live next door to her. I think if she wanted to put something on the front of the property, I would probably look at it more aesthetically as, what's this going to do? But what she wants to do just seems pretty normal to me. And I mean, her house is small. I mean, I have a small house. Her house is teeny tiny. And her girls are big. Her husband passed away. She said that, you know, she'd like to bring her mom to her house at some point. You know, so just it does make sense. I mean, and for eight point something inches, I don't really see that it's going to be a big deal. But, you know, I have no problem. And obviously nobody else showed up. So I don't think anybody has a problem with it either. But thank you.

6:18 – 6:46Speaker 3

Thank you. Is there anyone else in support of this application? Is there anyone else in support of this application? Is there anyone in opposition of this application?
