Hi, yes. My name is Jessica Polanco. I'm the Neighborhood Resource Officer. We have I have a couple events coming up in October as well. Like Lydia said, we have a busy October, literally an event each week. So we're going to start off with National Coffee with a Cop Day, which is going to be Tuesday, October 1st from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. That's going to be at Cal Bakery. We're welcoming all our residents to come. We have a lot of new officers. So we welcome everybody to come meet our officers. We're going to have from all our specialized units. The chief is going to be there. The deputy chief, all command staff. We welcome questions, feedback, concerns, or just get to know us. And of course, have some coffee together. some pastries, and some goodies. So that's going to be Tuesday, October 1st at Cal Bakery. Then the following week, October 8th, Tuesday, October 8th from 6 to 8, we're hosting National Night Out at Vogel Park. We're going to have a lot of we're going to have some of the local restaurants hand out little samples. We're going to have giveaways, things for the kids, also for adults. So that's Vogel from 6 to 8. And then in December, we don't have a set date yet, but in December, we're going to have A new event, it's called Breakfast with Santa, where the children and adults can come have breakfast and take pictures with Santa. And they get to pick a toy that they from other liking. So that's going to be December on a Saturday. We don't have a date yet, but it's Breakfast with Santa. And as far as PD, those are our events coming up. We have a busy season coming up with Village and PD events. So we're pretty excited.

I really enjoy speaking to the children, to the adults. And this is a great opportunity in a casual environment for the residents to get to meet the new officers, ask questions, provide feedback, concerns. So I really, really... invite everybody to come out and get to know the new officers.

Yeah, there really is a lot. The last few cars I've seen, I'm like, I don't recognize any of these cops.

Yes. It's crazy how I've been here for six years and I'm actually up there seniority because we have a lot of new officers here. And, you know, we're growing as an agency. We have for a small agency, we have all specialized units. We have canine, we have motors, we have traffic, Marine Patrol, CIU, which is our detective bureau. So, you know, it's good to, you know, get to know your officers. So I really encourage everyone to come out. You know, you don't have to be there for an hour on your way out. before you go to work, stop by for a cup of coffee. So I really, really encourage everyone to come out and come and speak to us.

There's a lot of new women, too, I've seen. A lot of new women officers.

Yes. So you have Officer Cabrera, which is in the traffic team. And we just recently hired an Officer Dufau. And we recently hired two officers, Officer Noel and Officer Sangronis, which they're currently on FTO. So one of them, if not both, should be in attendance as well.

And at the same time, Vice Mayor Goran Cook also was working on it. So it's been in the works for different angles, same intentions. So it's already very exciting. She wanted to talk to you and introduce herself, you guys, to see how she can collaborate, being that she's a coach and a business owner here in North Village at the gym. See if there's any way that you guys as a board can collaborate or need her assistant in any way. I just wanted to do that introduction and facilitate that introduction to you guys. And it was based on a fee that was given to us by Janice and I think Lily and the communications director of the department on... That's basically it. She's available. She wants to participate. She's also going to sign up with the Northwood Village Chamber of Commerce. She wanted to make sure you guys were aware that she wants to help in that. I told her about the running club that we have every monday and i don't know if she was going to join or she knew about it already but that's basically it so you guys can keep that in mind i can forward this information to our clerk so that she can send you her contact information and you can just keep her in mind as you plan for the 5k yeah it's it's jose's um event well he's the one that brought it up

So I believe he was working with Julie and Janice on it, but also we're waiting to see what happens with the budget.

That's a big part, but I am very confident that an event like that could be sponsored. The Northwood Village Optimist Club at some point had an annual, not a 5K, but a triathlon here in Northwood Village. And they did that for many, many years, actually, and professionally done with timers and the whole nine yard, you know. So we have a set of skills as far as like how we can obtain sponsorship or how we get volunteers. And through Janice, we have the expertise of how it gets done because she's done it recently. So it seems like we have all the tools to make it happen. And, you know, and I'm sure Jose is going to run an amazing event and, You know, whatever I can do to help, I'm here. And like I said, I'm just happy to provide introductions to local business owners who want to participate. And I will continue to do that, including the Chamber of Commerce participation into your programs as we go forward.
