Virgil. So we got two new ones for y'all this evening. 2736 Beach Street. It's this mobile home structure here. There's multiple ones on this lot, but this one here was in bad shape. The gentleman has had the sewer and water disconnected. Says he's going to tear it down, but he has not pulled a permit yet, so we're going to just go ahead and move forward with the condemnation process. And if he gets it off of there before we get there, then so be it. But he's not going to fight it.
Where was it again?
This is Beach Street. Right on the corner of Beach Street and Carlton Road.
I imagine the neighbors will be happy to see it go.
They will be. And what's the address again? 2736 Beach Street.
All right. and the next one is 512 24th avenue east this structure burned a few years back we put it into condemnation the customer i mean the owner pulled a permit started making repairs and mr junkin decided to hold off on bringing it to y'all then he just stopped so we're back in here now he has pulled a new permit started making repairs to it and he will be here to represent the property my recommendation to give him 90 days to continue making progress do you think they will he has started making repairs this time and i told him i said we're you know we're not going to stop we're going to take this one on through council i told him i said we can't just stop it again like this run out of money I'm not sure. But I was back out there today. The end, if we go back a couple of pictures, that end right there has been completely closed in now. Siding has been put back on it. So he's made some progress, cleaned up some of the trash around there and everything else. And I will allow him to tell you what all his future plans are. He says he wants to save it, but I wasn't going to hold it out this time when he pulled the permit because of the last time. So like I said, my recommendation is 90 days on this one. OK. And that's all I have for you tonight.
OK. Thank you, Virgil.
Thank you.
Zach.
All right, I've got three rezoning requests for you guys tonight. However, they're all part of one development. So of course, it'll be three separate votes, but I'll present it as one cohesive thing to give you a full picture of what's going on. So the applicant is Todd Palmer. Three rezoning requests, I'll walk through them. The location is just north of Gaineswood Subdivision in District 3. So off Rice Mine Road Northeast, you can see it's across from that storage facility and that church. And then Gaineswood is just south right there. And then the Starbucks is just north, just to kind of get your orientation. So this is why it's a little messy. You can see that a portion of this property is in the pj so it's not in city limits um and so they are they have three rezoning requests so this is the portion that's outside the city limits so i'll walk through each one so the first rezoning request these two pieces are in city limits currently currently zoned general commercial and they want to rezone it to mfr multi-family residential so that's those two pieces right there as the first rezoning request the second one is the larger portion of the portion outside of city limits so as you all know when they're annexed into the city they come in as sfr1 so he wants to rezone this portion to mfr multi-family residential and then that little sliver again comes in as sfr1 he wants to rezone to general commercial so the end result is the left side all the color basically other than that darker strip is going to be multi-family residential and then the portion adjacent to rice mine road northeast is going to be commercial general commercial So that's why it's a little bit convoluted, but it's pretty simple once you think of it as general commercial on the front of Rice Mine Road, and then that back portion is going to be multifamily residential, is what the request is. So the petition is two one-acre commercial lots that will front Rice Mine Road Northeast and will remain at GC. The 3rd lot will be created behind the commercial lots and rezoned to MFR to construct 3 3 story apartment buildings, 3 bedrooms each for a total of 54 units. And that's what this is going to look like. This is what he submitted. So he'll have access point to the South. running to the rear as well as one through the two commercial lots. Those two commercial lots adjacent to Rice Mine will be GC, and then that back portion will all be multifamily residential if this were to be approved. And then these are some elevations that he provided so I believe and you can speak more to this tonight if you have more questions But I think he wants to mimic first in Maine in Northport just over the Lurleen Bridge I Think that's he developed that one. I think that's what he wants to do here is make it look like that it does conform to framework framework identified this is limited commercial and as you can see on the future land use character map and Planning and zoning Commission for all three requests recommended approval unanimously I Can answer any questions that y'all might have?
I've talked to Todd a couple times about it. I mean he tends to build a good product. I Don't really have any issue with it. I have yet to hear from anybody on it I hadn't heard from anybody else on it
So you didn't go door to door asking people?
I mean, they know my number. Yeah. I talked to him before all this, but I hadn't talked to him about this. And he did go. He went to their HOA meeting in April.
So he's not.
And they all they came to planning commission. And I mean, they weren't. I'm not saying they loved it, but they weren't as mad about this as they have been in years past at other things. So
Good afternoon. Good afternoon.
Tonight I'm going to have party down LLC doing business as 2026. So part rodeo. They're applying for a special event retail less than seven days. Of course, this is a rodeo event. It's going to be on July not 10th and 11th from five to 11pm. And then here's the view of the arena that shows you that their plans are to set up on each corner of the arena. Any questions?
Is that all you have?
That's all I have for you.
Thank you.
Thank you. Mayor Maddox? I don't have anything, Mr. Tyner. And we do not have any items for executive session. How about that? All right. OK. Thank you. Chris?
Good afternoon. Good afternoon. Just a quick update on last Saturday's event. First of all, thanks again to New Corps Steel for sponsoring the event. They're amazing. Casey Rice with them is our point of contact. She does a great job. They really care about our community and our environment, so huge thanks to them. Also, thanks to special events, TPD, TFR, and our ESD guys for, man, they worked hard for that three hours. So this year we worked 599 cars in three hours and collected 80,831 pounds. To put into perspective how much we've grown In 2021, we collected 45,800 pounds. This year, we're at 80,811 pounds. So that's a lot of household hazardous waste that's diverted from our landfills and is being recycled. So just a quick update of how successful and big the event is. And thank you all for always being a part of it. And I know our community appreciates it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Chris.
All right, Scott.
