Okay. Thank you. Good morning, Eldorado County. Today is May 5, and the time is 1PM. And we are gathered here for our special meeting. So with that, madam CAO, would you lead us in the pledge of allegiance?

I pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States Of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Alright. County Council, would you like to take us into closed session?

Yes, madam chair. The board will recess in a closed session here. It's only item on the agenda, item one. I do not expect a report out today. Before we do, if you wouldn't mind calling for any public comment on the closed session.

Good afternoon, board. Ken Greenwood here from out in the Triple Junction into the rain in the gauge, maybe more. I'm curious. There's no backup information in the agenda item number on Legistar. And I just it it's just I'm wondering why we have why we're having this special session, what are the what are the reasons for this.

You know, I I recognize that it is in a what's the word? HR sort of thing. So we can only talk about certain stuff, but it's just a little confusing here. A little clarity on why we're doing this. Is somebody in trouble?

Are we and, again, we can't get too deep into this, but a little more clarity as to why we're meeting today and going into closed session and then not reporting out. Just kind of curious as to the openness of this whole affair. Anyway, that's my question And I would appreciate a little clarity here before we run off. Okey doke. Thank you very much, as always.

I I can acknowledge that I I think most are aware that the County Chief Probation Officer position is currently being held by an interim, and the County is in the process of recruiting for a permanent position. Today's closed session, as specified on the agenda, is to discuss the employment of a Chief Probation Officer.
