So, moving to business 2 a consider action of approval of order canvasing the returns and declaring the results of a bond election. City Secretary Vicky Vega.
Thank you, Mayor and Council. Um, the item before you today is ordinance number 202609, canvasing the returns and declaring the results of a bond election held on May 2nd, 2026. There were three propositions on the ballot and the unofficial returns were provided by Tarant County Election Office. I would like to also note that 1541 of 16,322 registered voters voted, which is 9.44% rate of participation. Is this our biggest turnout ever? Pretty close. I believe it is. Yeah. So, congratulations. Thank you folks for voting.
Um, the propositions included Proposition A. This is a tax increase, the issuance of bonds in the amount of 38 million for street improvements with priority given to Mroy Boulevard and Industrial Avenue. Proposition B, this is a tax increase, the issuance of bonds in the amount of 6 million for park, recreation, and open space improvements. Proposition C, this is a tax increase, the issuance of bonds in the amount of 15 million for an animal control facility. Today, Tarant Tarant County provided the official results. The final totals change slightly from the unofficial results by six. The official results are as follow. Proposition A received four 955 votes. Against 582 votes. Proposition B received four 767 votes and against 766 votes. That is one vote difference. Proposition C received for 883 and against 646 votes. It is staff's recommendation that the city council approve ordinance 20269 canvasing and declaring the results of a bond election held on May 2nd, 2026 and declaring the proposition A, B, and C as passed.

Thank you again mayor. Uh today's resolution number 2026 07 canvasing the returns and declaring the results of a general election on May 2nd for council member place 4 and council member place 6. Tarant County election office provided the unofficial election results on election night to today Taran County provided the official results. The final totals changed slightly from the unofficial results. Um and resolution 20267 has been updated to reflect the official res uh results and they are as follow. Council member place 4 which was Bra Stlair received uh 722 votes which was 53.76%. Brian Thompson received 621 total votes which is 46.2%. For council member place 6, Benjamin Guty, 536 votes, which is 38.23%. Mary Copelan received 866 total votes, which is 61.77%. It is staff's recommendation that mayor and council approve resolution number 202607 canvasing the election results in reelecting to office council member place four Stlair and council member place 6 Mary Copelan.
