So let's start from the beginning. The story of LACO in California is as follows. The population and real estate boom after the Second World War led to an uproar to get the refinancing and expansion of services, to the annexation of cities and to an increase in special districts for a limited purpose. LAFCO has a unique structure.

The local planning functions of LAFCO include the implementation of inspections of municipal services, so-called MSRs, the issuance of recommendations for areas of improvement for these local authorities, the inspection, approval and update of areas of influence, so-called SOIs. These are the growth limits for local authorities, as well as the dismissal of local guidelines and procedures that further refine the national law. However, it is the general framework in which they all work. The big picture. I took part in the veterans' meeting today. That was not as a city council member, but part of my work at Woodland Community College. But it is always moving to take part in this event. There were 25 organizations there, including organizations that hand out boots, tents, sleeping bags and other things to our veterans. And yes, I found it very moving. I took part in a meeting with the Lake County Continuum of Cares, a strategic planning committee, to begin with the plan for Compassion in the Cold. That will take place on December 22nd under Lake County Campus.
