Um we're going to go ahead and we're going to do roll call which instead of me just calling names we're going to have you just let everybody know that you're here for the record. Sean here. Mike Walton here. Virginia Schmidt here. Jonah Pette here. Gina Hutter here. Ellen Munning here. John McCarthy's here. Patrick Jeffers here. David Post here. Perfect. Thank you. Uh, next on the agenda is actually swearing in new members. So, I'll turn it over to Councilman Post. All right. So, there are four people that are getting sworn in, whether you're new or coming back. We can actually do all four at the same time uh to expedite it. I mean, unless you'd rather do it separate. Um, we can, if you all wanted to step up, we can do this together. Whatever you Whatever you want, Councilman. Why don't we turning that around? Why don't you guys Let's do it all together then. There's no reason to do it separate. So, I need Jonah and Helen and Michael and Virginia. You guys can come on up. And so, what I'll do is I'm going since it all reads the same, why don't we go this way so that way the microphone is here and you guys can all be heard and whatever. Um, so after I say the word I, you will then say you'll say I and then state your name and all the rest and I'll just a few words at a time. Raise your right hand and all that fun stuff. Absolutely. So, if you'd raise your right hand. Uh, I Jonah Helen Mings do hereby swear do hereby swear that I will support and defend that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws the Constitution and laws of the United States of America of the United States of America the Constitution and laws the Constitution and laws of the State of Ohio of the state of Ohio. the charter the charter charter ordinances and resolutions ordinances and resolutions of the city of Twinsburg of the city of

Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. All right. Congratulations. So, congratulations. Congratulations. Uh, if you guys want to sign right here, sign two copies. Uh, leave sign with your name. Uh, leave one on the table and one is your copy. Jonah, here's a pen. So, there you congratulations. One's for your records for you can frame it at your office and then I'll take the others. Actually, wait. I need to sign. Yeah. Thank you. You want to sign that one, too? Thank you. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. And back over to you. All right. Thank you. Nice job. I didn't. Is someone touching a mic? I am not. I thought I thought Mark said that. Maybe it's this one. [Music] So, hello. Huh? That must be you because they used to turn it around. Oh, yeah. I I I know that, too. Yeah.
Well, that's it's okay. A good microphone around here. We We We'll learn. We'll learn. All right. Next on our agenda, we have to elect a chairperson. So, at this time, I'd like to open the floor for nominations uh for chairperson of the Environmental Commission. I'd like to nominate Jonah Pashett. Virginia has nominated myself. Seconded. Seconded by Shantanu. Are there I would accept the nomination. Are there any other nominations? Seeing none, I would entertain a motion to unanimously appoint myself as chairperson. Uh all those in favor, please say I. I. All oppose, please say nay. Okay. Thank you very much. I I do appreciate the honor to serve. Um, it's been a a true honor the past year to serve as your chairperson and I look forward to doing it again. Next, we open the floor for the election of a vice chairperson. Uh, are there any nominations for vice chairperson? Virginia, I'd like to nominate uh Gina Hutterer. I'll second. Thank you. Would you accept the nomination? Absolutely. Yes. Are there any other nominations for vice chair? Shoo. No. I would like to nominate V Shant. I'd like to nominate Virginia. I I would second. Would you like to accept the nomination? No, I would not. Okay. Thank you. I think it's uh just time to pass to say. All right. All right. So, seeing as there's one nomination on the floor, are there any other nominations for vice chairperson? Seeing as there are not, I'd entertain a motion to nominate Gina unanimously as vice chairperson. All those in favor, please say I. I. All oppose, please say nay. And congratulations, Gina. Thank you. Thanks, Virginia. Appreciate it. Looking forward to helping. And next, we move on to the approval of the minutes.
Um, and so Helen, we typically approve minutes from every meeting. Since you you haven't been on the commission, you could just simply abstain from voting and not say anything at this point. That's fine. That's fine. Um, we do have to approve minutes from our uh, March meeting as well as our February meeting. I believe those should have been sent to us from Patrick and Cler Collins. Did we all receive a copy of the minutes? Yes. Yes. Are there any changes that we need to make? One of them, uh, Gina's name was misspelled, but I can't remember if it was February or March. So, Hunter. Oh, I did not catch that. I'm going to really quickly pull it up as we are looking. Thanks, Regina. And we do want to make sure everybody's name is spelled correctly. Um, okay. I'm just taking a glance here. I see. So that is in the commission reports and discussion section of the March 4th. Uh is there would we all be in favor of amending the minutes on March 4th to correct Gina Hutter's last name? Yes. Any objection to that? Okay. Thanks. Are there any other changes that need to be made to the minutes? If not, I would entertain a motion or I I motion that we approve the uh March 4th and a March 4th and February minutes as submitted. Is there a second? With the adjustment with the with the amendment. Yes. Second. Seconded by Gina. All those in favor of approving the March minutes and the April minutes with the amendment, please say I. I. All oppose, please say nay. And the minutes have been approved. Next, we move on to presentations. I don't think we have any
presentations this evening. There is nobody in the audience for audience participation. And so, that brings us to commissioner reports. Um, most of us are returning members on the commission, but this time around, if you could also just maybe introduce yourself because we do have a new member on the commission. I think it'd be great if we could just share a little bit bit about who we are so we all could continue to cohesively work well together with one another. Um, and after you're done with that, if you would like to share your commission report, I think that'd be a great, you know, start, great way to go about this. We'll start down on my left with Sean Denu. Okay. I'm Sean. Um, I, this is my second, um, commission, you know, second time on the commission. Um, I work as an area manager uh oper operation in operations for a sustainability company and it's my honor to participate and be be on this commission. Um, just couple things I wanted to bring up. I know everybody already has all the handouts from the April 26th. they shred, you know, one of the things that I like is that, you know, you with the e-waste, they will also offer shredding of, you know, your desktops and laptop hard drives. So, that's that's that's a great great service that they do that. And also wanted to just I I know this is couple months down the road, we'll have one more meeting um before that uh starting June 5th at Reworks in Stow, Ohio. Um, Thursdays they will be doing HHW collections from 2 pm to 7 pm every Thursday. In the month of June, it'll be June 5th, June 12th, and June 26. They're going to be closed on June 19th. And the last event will be in September umh 25th, 2025. So that's all I have. Thank you, Shant. Michael. Yeah, I'm Michael Walton. My wife and I have been
Twinsburg residents for going on 30 years. This is my second term on the commission. Um, it's been an honor to serve on it. Feel like we're doing some some good here. Um, professionally, I work in IT. I work for a nonprofit up in Beachwood and that's really about my greatest hits. Um, as far as a report, I have nothing to report tonight. Awesome. Thank you, Virginia. Hi, Virginia Schmidt. I think it's my third term on the commission. I'm uh member of Twinsburg Garden Club and Twinsburg Native Habitat Association, though both groups are concerned with the environment and and um nature, etc. Uh so on that note, the only thing that I wanted to mention is that on um Saturday, May 3rd, the Twinsburg Native Habitat Association is having a native plant uh workshop and plant sale. And there's going to be six native plant vendors, three speakers, uh, including someone from Ohio State, someone from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and someone from a native seed company. It's free and open to the public. We're asking that you register. Um, however, it's going to be at the Christ the King Lutheran Church on Revena Road. So, if you drive by, forgot about it, and drive by and see it, you can stop in. And then on Saturday, May 10th, Twinsburg Garden Club is having their plant sale and there's going to be a lot of native plants there and a good opportunity to talk to members if you have questions about gardening and um uh environmentally friendly practices. Thank you. Awesome. Thank you. Just a couple quick questions. Gina, I saw you. Yeah, I just um didn't hear on May 3rd the native plant sale and speakers. What time is that? it. The speakers start at 10, the program opens at 9 for vendors and things like that. Thank you. Thank you, Gina. And I have a question as well. Where can you register? You
mentioned that you have to register twinsburghabitat.org. Okay. That is where it is. Thank you. Perfect. Just I want to make sure we're sharing all these great ideas. I I know where I could sign up and register so I could attend. Thank you. Um I'll I'll wait to my report because I just have a laundry list of just updates here. So uh we'll go ahead and we'll skip Gina right here. Hi, I'm Gina Hutter and um my husband, my family, we've been residents for um about 20 years in Twinsburg. Um this is my first round goround um being able to be a part of the environmental commission. Um and I um am a teacher in my off hours. Uh, and my report is that the library sent out uh an email that does include electronics recycling day that it um coincides with Saturday, April 26, 9 to1 on the public library grounds. So, it um really um lovely um dovetales with all of our other events that are happening that day. So, that went out to residents. You want me to go next? Absolutely. Okay. I'm Helen Munnings. Um my husband and I moved here um coming up on four year well like three and a half years ago. Um I'm a retired nurse and um I babysit my grandsons and this is my first time on any kind of like nonwork commission group. Um and I'm very interested in the environment. I very much love science and environment and I'm glad to be here. We're glad to have you. Thank you, Helen. Thank you, John. Yes. Uh my name is John MacArthur. Uh we've been in
Twinsburg 18 years. Um the whole family lives here now. We follow them and and retired uh phys teacher from Solo. Very cool. Thank you. This is my first first time on on this commission. Okay. Happy to be here. Very cool. Thank you. Anything else to report? Oh, no. No. Okay. All right. And so then my report um first I I have a question to Pat since you're here. Shred day. Do we have a time for that? I know it's June 14th. I do not have the time. I will confirm that with uh Dennis. Okay. Uh I believe he's got it set up for uh the same time as last year. I believe 9 to noon, but that's what I've been assuming. I I do need to confirm that for you. Okay. I'll shoot you an email and just I just figure it's we're here. I'd ask. Um my next sort of thing is to the the commission. Uh we've historically done a wastewater tour during the summer where we go to tour the wastewater plant. Uh it's led by the director uh and he gives us a tour, walks us through the plant, lets us know what they're doing and how that works. Um I spoke with Nate at a council meeting just informally and I asked if if he'd be willing to have us as a commission again and he said absolutely, you know, just just talk and you know, see what would work. Um, but I wanted to make sure before I start talking with Pat and Nate and setting anything up, is that something we're interested in doing again as a commission to going touring the wastewater treatment plant, seeing what they're doing and and working on? Yes. Yes. Okay. So, my my follow-up question would be, we typically have done this in uh I believe July or August. Does the July or August month work best for most of us? Yes. We probably can't get everybody, but you know, when we're trying to aim for the majority, does
July or August work best for most of us? Yes. Yes. Okay. And would we prefer, you know, obviously we have to be there when, you know, they could accommodate us, but would we prefer morning or maybe later in the the afternoon if possible? We've historically done morning because that seems to be when they could fit us in. Morning. Okay. And so I just I figured I'd ask those very pointed questions. So I could start sort of seeing when they are available because again we serve at our ability to tour is at their uh schedule. So you know I I wanted to make sure I ask those questions. I'm going to write down these responses before I forget. I have a question. Um I know they can have not a large group but they can handle more than just this group. Could we bring a guest? Maybe I I could ask when I schedule. I'm sure Nate would love that. I'm sure he'd be happy. They take school school classes on tours. So, more the marrier. He He loves showing off that plant. He gave a tour to Girl Scouts. He talked to me two different times about how happy he was that Girl Scouts came and toward the plant. So, he see that would be neat to bring somebody else and have more people talking about it. My grandson would love it, too. Now, Pat, I could no problem reach out to Nate or did you want to? No, that's fine. You can reach out to Nate directly like an age limit and also how many would be a good up to x amount. So I'll I'll let them know that we're looking for morning somewhere in July. We'd like her to invite our whole commission, you know, Pat, Councilman Pose, and you know, possibly bring a couple additional individuals. How many could he accommodate? And I'll see if he has any age requirements um you know, on all of that. And so I can make sure I get that done. I'll send that email tomorrow to him. Um, let's see. My my third out of four thing is Earth Day Arbor Day. Just
sort of a reminder here. Uh, we have our Earth Day Arbor Day event or joint event. April 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Twinsburg Community Center. So, April 26th, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Twinsburg Community Center. What time do you want us there? I mean, if we could get there, I'm going to get there probably 8:30. Um, maybe a little earlier, but I'm going to I'm going to aim for 8:30. I I might be bringing donuts. I'm not promising, but if if I wake up early enough, I will be bringing donuts. Um, but I'm going to probably get there a little bit earlier for to help set up our stuff, see if Director Bentonson needs anything, see if any of the other tables need anything. Um, but I do know that we have our scavenger hunt we we said was okay. We have that ready to roll. Um, so if there's any additional environmental stuff aside from our general handouts we want, you know, we have one more meeting sort or we have some time to get that ready, but I think we have a good amount of stuff to bring for this meeting or for that event. And did we order things to like pass out? So, Director Benson of Parks and Rec, she ordered us, she asked what we'd like her to order. I gave her a list of a couple things we could hand out as prizes, and I said, "Whatever of this list, you're able to get us." Great. Um, so it was covered out of the parks and recck budget and so, you know, I was very gracious to them for being able to do that for us. But yes, we'll have stuff to hand out. Um, and so I think we're set on that. We will be having a volunteer um, a high school student from one of the neighboring schools coming to just help us table. uh the economic development director of the city asked me if you know we we could help you know one of her I don't know a connection of hers volunteer at one of our events and I said we'd love somebody to help us and so she's going to be there helping us table and you know helping us run our
scavenger hunt so I said the more the marrier there's going to be a lot to do a lot to see and and I'm really excited for it um and could the volunteer maybe be taking pictures of absolutely activities so we can you know publicize I think would be kind of the volunteer, I believe, for the hours she needs. I don't know if it's for the graduation seal or if it's simply an additional high school requirement, she's going to be asked if she could build a craft for our table. And I said, "Awesome. By all means, I I don't think anybody would object." And so, I took a little leeway there and she's going to be building a craft for our table. And so, I'm excited to see that. Neat. Uh, that was my third sort of bullet point. I just wanted to remind you that I will not be there. Yes. Thank you. I appreciate that. Wonderful. Yeah. And you're nobody's required to be there. I do want to say though, it's it's great when we are there. If you're able to make it, it's really great to see you. Um, one of the great things about this commission is that we're always here at our meetings. We always have these meetings and we always go to our events. And so, I think it's great if we are there if possible, but if you can't, if you have a family emergency, it's not I'm not going to force you, I'm not going to hunt you down to to drag you to the Earth and Arbor Day event, but I think it's great when we are there. uh because it really does show how involved and how much we do care about what we're doing. And so that's my point on that. And my last of the long points is our Good Neighbor Award nominations. The nominations are live. Um thank you guys for the last two meetings for bearing with my my long talks about all of this. Um but the awards are live. We are receiving nominations. We have a handful in at this point. Um last meeting we sort of narrowed down that we wanted to we want as a commission to have three commissioners review the nominations, you know, narrow it down to the look at a scoring rubric. Look at the nominations. Narrow it down to the
two people who scored highest on the rubric. then bring those two people to the full commission at our May meeting and then as a full commission and a full public body vote on who is the good neighbor. And so what we need to do is decide who sort of forms that subcommittee. Who are the three people we want sitting on that subcommittee to look over these nominations to look at that scoring matrix. You're not deciding do they get the award. You're not making that final decision. You're going to look at a rubric and you're going to say, you know, you're going to score them all equally on this rubric and whoever has the highest points, you bring to the commission. So, we need to decide who are the three people we as a commission want to serve on that subcommittee. I'll be out of town for several weeks in April. So, taking Virginia off the list. Okay. I could be interested in doing that. I've done something similar to that. I for like a PTA scholarship thing. I mean, it's not similar. So, you got the information, you looked at the candidate, you scored them based on whatever, and then you added up the score. So, it's been a while, but it's something that I've done in the past. I'd be interested. I I think it'd be best if we proceed nomination wise like we did for the chairperson and vice chair. I'd be happy to nominate Helen as as one of the three individuals. Is there maybe a second for that? I'd be glad to second. Virginia seconds that all those or Gina, I'm sorry. I'm used to I'm so sorry. We're sitting in the wrong spots. I know you flip spots on me. It's It's a It's a weird Tuesday. Gina seconds that. Um all those in favor of of nominating Helen to be the one of the three subcommittee members, please say I. I. All opposed, please say nay. So, we've got one. Thank you. Any other nominations? Jody, you should be
obviously on there. I mean you including you one of the three or I I yeah we it can be no more than three because if we have four people then it's a public meeting and so it can't be more than three. So are you nominating me? I'll John has nominated me. I second. Shanteneu has seconded. Um all those in favor of of placing me on the subcommittee please say I. I. All oppose please say nay. Okay. I I will be be second. And then Shante, you wanted to make a point there. Yeah, I want to nominate John McCarthy. John, I'd second that. John, um, would you accept the nomination? Okay. All those in favor of u appointing John to the subcommittee, please say I. I. All oppose, please say nay. And so, just so I have for my record, for my understanding, the three members of the subcommittee should be Helen, John, and myself. Yes. Does that sound correct to the commission? Yes. And again, we're not making a final decision because you can't vote. You can't make any decisions in a subcommittee. We're going to look at a scoring matrix. We will say these individuals have scored the highest and then at the May meeting bring two candidates to the whole body to vote and decide and say this is our our you know good m good good neighbor. at at the meeting at the um actual meeting where you're voting, are they going to be like candidate A and candidate B? Yes, they'll still be blank name. So, they won't have the name of the individuals. It'll still be blank and say candidate A or one or two or So, it's a blind rubric. Yes, it's a blind rubric. So, that that prevents, you know, anybody from trying to I don't know. And that doesn't mean that the person who doesn't win that time would be out of a chance another time. Correct. Yeah. They're they're always welcome to be nominated. There's you
could nominate somebody multiple times. So if he did and is there only going to be one at this time? Yes. Yeah. I think we decided there's just for the start there's going to be one good neighbor. Um I think we mentioned it could be possibly a household. I think that was a point you brought up last time. It could be a household. Um but just one good neighbor award. Okay. And what will this person get? Will they get some sort of recognition? Yes, they'll get some sort of recognition. I mean like a like like citywide, will there be a sign this person? Um no, they'll be coming most likely. I think we've decided at either a council meeting is more likely at this point in time, but at a city council meeting, will all be invited to the council meeting? Um I still need to connect with council president post later but if the council president allows we will present the award at a council meeting. Okay. And um I suggested it that you you did suggest I suggested you should do it at a council meeting where it's going to get more you unfortunately you missed the discussion on all this so I I couldn't just say you volunteered at council. You know I would never want to put words in your mouth. Um so so you know we presented a council meeting ideally we're all invited they're allowed to invite you know their family we could make it a memorable occasion and usually there's a couple more people than um than nobody at a council meeting. So it'd be a really cool opportunity. There's always one guest there. There is always one person at a council meeting. That's me. Yeah. I have a question also. Um Helen mentioned are they getting a sign Uh, the city could probably put it on the electronic sign. I think that would be nice. That's a good idea. I've been in other neighborhoods where someone got there was some sort of sign on their, you know, front yard or something. And the city could probably make a just one of those plastic signs too, I would imagine. No. Yeah. Winner
of the 2020 neighbor. There will be some sort of either placard, sign, certificate. there will be something tangible to present. Um that I I have not worked that out yet, but that that will be able to be worked out. Probably do something not a proclamation, but something like that where it's a nice That's that's where I was my mind was thinking. That's what normally we do is give a proclamation. I think you should present it. Yes. I think you should present it at the council meeting, right? Yeah. We could we could finally have somebody in the presentation section of council, too, right? So yeah, if if if the council president allows considering So but that that was my long update. I I'm sorry for always having such long updates, but I want to make sure I go over everything and we have all the details we need. But are there any questions on any of that? John and Helen, we'll we'll talk later. We'll make sure we get phone numbers and all that. Um, but I I think that's all for my update, which then sends us over to council report. So, we'll start with, you know, we'll go with Pat. You're not a councilman, but you're assistant city engineers. So, yeah, we'll start with you. Yeah. Um, t-shirts came in, so I've got them sitting out on the on the chairs out front there from uh smaller to to larger sizes down on this end. So, uh feel free to pick up the the one that that uh you said you you were interested in getting. Uh there are several extras. So hopefully we we got some extras in a in a size that that works for you there, Helen. Um the other thing I wanted to mention was that I don't know if all of you got them in the mail, but Waste Management did have a uh mailer go out last month that uh among other things included what should and should not be recycled in the in the city. So, I know it's something that that we've discussed at times trying to get put out in uh one
of the uh sewer bills or something, but just wanted to bring it to everybody's attention in case uh in case you happen to to throw it out without noticing what was in there. Mean recycle it properly without noticing what was Awesome. Thank you, Pat. Anything else? That's it. David. All right. So, um not too much. I'm just curious right now how many um people you have nominated in total so far for the Good Neighbor Award. I I get them in my email. I'm going to be honest. I haven't like checked as of recent last I think it was three, four, maybe five. I haven't That's good specifically counted, but it was it was more than three, less than 10. So somewhere somewhere vaguely in between there. I was just curious like I know there's one guy I'd want to nominate, but I don't really know who he is. So, it's like, you know, I see him walking the streets and cleaning Ethan's green all day. Someone posted that on Facebook and they're like, and I'm thinking, "Oh, I'm in that. I'm gonna be on that committee." I'm like, I wish I could tell the person how how do you find the guy's name? I guess he picks up garbage and Ethan's green. Yeah, I think the person's they somebody knew who it was and mentioned the name. Okay. And then somebody's You didn't You send the link or somebody posted a link. Yeah, I've been posting the correct link whenever somebody asks for it. Yeah. So maybe I'll have to find that out somehow. Yeah, because you are welcome to nominate somebody as well. Yeah, of course. Anybody can nominate. I just I don't know who to nominate. All right, so that's the only thing. Um the other, you know, I know you guys are going to tour the um the sewer plant. Have you have you all anyone visited that before? Yeah, just a few of you. All right. It's uh it's pretty cool. Did anyone visit the new recycling plant last year? Did you guys all go visit that? No. Did you see it? I could not. No, I could not make it either. And I wanted to go see the new recycling plant cuz I heard the one over there at waste management plant. I heard it's really cool. Yes, it
is. So, I didn't know if you guys had any thoughts on doing that this year or not. If you if you've all seen it already, I I would love to go this summer and see it. I think I think maybe myself, Helen, and I would also like to go because when I went this year, it was they had an incident with battery fire. So they were not operating. Oh, so I didn't know if someone wanted to coordinate that. I would be interested in going with you guys because I think uh when I went to the one in Akran down there there at the old Goodyear um storage facility next to that, it was so amazing to see it happen. It was like Lever and Shirley where you got the guys just standing there like picking stuff out. Like literally, it was incredible. Um but I was told this one's just amazing now. So, I'd love to see that. So, if someone wants to put that together, um I would be willing to join. I can do that. I have the the contacts over there at Waste Management for the for the city that So, I can reach out and see if we can schedule something um for when Jonah is not in school. Yeah. Is uh was this summer summer July August want me to try and keep to the same time frame that you guys were talking about for for your I think treatment plant tour. I will reach out and see if we can get something scheduled for July or August. Yeah, I I remember I was so disappointed last time. It was during a work day. I I couldn't take a personal day. You know, it just it didn't work out with the timeline. So, yeah, I wanted to make it last year. I just couldn't get there. So, all right. And then the last thing I have is that I know that um you know, one of the biggest pushes for this committee in particular is the um educating the community. And we've talked about that so many times. And I do know in the last sewer bill, there was nothing in my sewer bill. you're gonna say. You knew I was going to say that. And so I was wondering if maybe one person on the environmental
commission wanted to be the sewer bill subcommittee chairperson. So because I know Jonah, you do a lot. You do a lot and it's just it's a lot. And so I didn't know if someone else wanted to say, "All right, I will be in charge of making sure that if there's nothing in a sewer bill that the environmental commission can jump in there and talk about that stuff." You know, I was just thinking like you've got all these dates here. June 5th, May 3rd, May 10th, June 14th. Great day. It's my birthday. Uh April 2. Like it would have been awesome in this last one to have like like just all these dates with all these things or knowing when the next bill is going to go out to say, "All right, we've got these four events coming up or just to make the community aware of that." Um, and I know that, you know, the city will help you do it. You know, you know, the city will help you design all that stuff. I just was hoping um maybe one person wants to be that person that every time to think two months in advance what's going to be on the next sewer belt and then David who's the contact person at the city who would help. It is I'm having a my my mind is escaping me right now. That's why I uh I will get that information for you or or you can find it. I'm having a brain meltdown right now as to the name. Jenny, who put together the the design for the shirts, would be the the person who'd help with uh putting together uh some kind of graphic or something for you. And I will say I'd like to I'd be glad to help with that. I think that is a really great idea, a way to get information out. And I think it just came in March, right? So we have April, May, it the next one's June. we have time to get something together and work on it. Yeah. So, look at are there events in July, August, September coming up that you could put out there or, you know, or mentioned the rain barrels uh one time. Um, we talked about that the last council meeting. That's
why I was just thinking about the rain barrels. Um, but really like I think the putting the reworks uh information out there for all that is great, too, cuz people where do I put this send this stuff? One place would be great. know, right? And it's just like I said, if you keep putting these blurbs out there, I just I don't know. That's all I got. That's fantastic. So, how big is this? I get mine electronically. How big is this insert? So, like the size of an envelope. Yeah. Front and back. Yeah. There's no coupon mail. Okay. Oh, you could do it electronically. I didn't know that. Bill. Yes. I didn't know any mine in the mail. I get mine in the mail. I didn't even know it was an option. In the mail, too. Mine's Mine's automatically paid, so I never really like look at the bill, but I do open it to see what's inside. Oh, I I will say I knew you were going to bring this up, so I actually wrote down a little bullet point. I reached out to Director Bettinson to see if the timing would be right to advertise Earth Day, our Earth Day Arb event in it, and it just didn't work out right. Gotcha. But like I I was No, it's all just my only two cents. That's why I thought cuz that's why I thought if you have someone on the commission who is the point person for that that way it's not everything falling you know to just the president and you know we get other people involved. Just a thought to make a point person. Really valuable. So I I can make sure I send Jenny's contact info to you so you have I might be able to help you with that. I'm not like super like techsavvy kind of, but well, we've got Jenny for that, so we'll count on her. But I think it's a good idea. Does that seem okay with you guys? Yeah. All right. Any other reports, council? That's all I got. Assistant city engineer. Okay. All right. Is there any other unfinished business, new business, miscellaneous from any of us as commissioners? I just have a question. Yeah. regarding
the school that they want to build and the environmental piece of it. Like I'm I know we don't do environmental studies or anything and actually I did see I think they might have been doing a um traffic study today. I thought I saw a car like I pulled out of Bel Meadow and I saw on Chamberlain I saw a car and so I have a lot of questions about that land. I live right over there. I know it's wet land. I know it's not I don't I don't want to say it's swamp, but it's wet, right? So, where would do we would is that something we would do, the city does, the school board does? I mean, I think Councilman Post. Yeah. You want me I'll take this one. Thank you, Jonah. Um, so the only thing that the city is involved with our piece of it is just the fact that we own that land and they own the land that Dodge is on currently. Right. Right. They have a need for our land, we have a need for their land. And so it is just from the city perspective, it is a land swap. Okay. What the school will have to do is all of those environmental studies, the traffic studies, and they will have to do all those bullet points, and they will have to make sure that everything is done correct with the EPA and all of the different avenues to make it work. So, we have nothing to do with any of that. They will have to do all that. You know, there's been conversations about where the buses are going to go in or out. There's been conversations about how wide the road is, that the road's not wide enough, and our response is it. You have to ask the schools, okay? They're the ones that are going to have to make it work for them and do
everything that is necessary to make it buildable for a school. And beyond that, we don't have those answers because it's not our project. It's their project. But they will have to take everything to the um building to the planning commission and they'll have to take everything just like anything else that's built in the city. They're going to have to bring it in for the engineers to look at and you know I don't do you want to add anything to that or No, there are certainly some wetlands back there. There are a couple streams, a couple uh wetlands along there. So that those have been identified and they're aware that they're back there. And the last plan that I had seen, they they kind of had some the buildings laid out in areas where where they wouldn't be building in the in the wetlands other than some road crossings to get over to to the schools. I know the school there's a school board meeting tomorrow and I thought maybe I should go to that. Um there'll probably be a lot of people. Yeah, I know. I know. There's a lot of chatter on Facebook about it too. You know, I I remember a conversation I had with Mayor Yates back in the day about another project in the city. Well, there's always projects in the city. And you know, there's people who don't want growth. There's people who, he says, and he said to me, he says, you know, he said, if we never built where there's wetlands or a stream or this or that, he says, we would have never built all of Twinsburg. He says, everything had streams. you know, everything, every city everywhere has these water. And he says, "But you work around it and that's why you have the EPA and that's why you have all of these different groups to make sure that it's done the right way." And he says, "But growth happens." And you know, natural there are natural springs that used to be all over that have to get diverted at times when growth happens. So, right, but it's up to the planning commission and the schools to make sure it's done the right way. So, thank you. I hope
that answered your question. It did. It did. Okay, good. Thank you. Is there any other miscellaneous uh conversation, new business or unfinished business? Seeing none, we have no absent members to excuse, which means our next meeting shall be May 6th, 2025 at 7 p.m. here in city council chambers. Um and at 7:41, uh I I would entertain a motion that we adjourn. All those in favor I. All oppose please say nay. So we are adjourned at 7:41.
