We're in this position. We can do this meeting. Yeah. Your own. I'm good for stepping or welcome.
Welcome to the December 1st, 2025 regularly scheduled city council meeting is now called to order. Would you please rise and say this pledge allegiance with me? I pledge to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. We have roller mark here.
All right, that takes us to our first public participation. Anybody that wants to come up and speak with us, please come up and at the podium. You have five minutes. Be sure you name and keep.
All right. That takes us to our consent agenda, shall we? Item A, motion to approve the minutes of the November 17th, 2025 city hall advisory committee meeting. Item B, motion to approve the minutes of the November 17th, 2025 regular session. Item C, motion to approve the minutes of the November 19th, 2025 special session. Is there anyone that would like to take any one of the agendas off of it and vote on it separately? I will entertain a motion to pass the consent agenda. Second. All those in favor say I. I oppose passes. Five in favor zero.
There we go. That's nice. Said that perfect. Just so everybody knows Patrick's on Zoom. I see his name. All right, that takes us to appointments, shall we? Um, we don't have any appointments to review or consider tonight. Uh, we do still have openings on the code board of appeals and the park board. And since this is um Bronsworth's first meeting, I would just like to welcome him to the council. Thank you. Yeah. Each do we how many do we only have one on the park board? We have two. I believe we have two opening. Two on the park board and then one on the board of and two on the matter if Darlene's going to do it or not.
She told me she wasn't interested in doing it anymore. So I think we need to She shot me down as well. I told her she doesn't have much. I don't have there. All right, that takes us to our city manager report.
Air council. Thank you. Um, we're still the fire suppression system should be delivered uh and they should be starting insulation this week. Um, we're still holding it with PST. We uh we did zoom in with Patrick earlier today. Um, he uh he gave us some information that we can discuss later at a later time. Um, so we're kind of still in a holding pattern on that. We are giving them till the end of the month to get out all the A&E design work. So, um, first three buildings, as you can tell, they're they're coming down. December 25th is his, uh, is the final day. Bright speed. Uh, we still have not received a response from them. Even after Shelley and I both emailed, we still haven't received anything from them. We are searching out a new phone system for the whole city uh for the buildings. Uh again, we were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on the 27th and 28th. Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving. Um we have cancelled the council meeting for December 15th. Our next meeting will be uh January 5th and uh city hall will be closed December 25th and 26th. Does anybody have any questions?
I will say that if something comes up and we need to have a schedule. We just didn't have anything on the agenda that was pressing but okay. No questions. All right. That moves us on to unfinished business. Sherley's second and final reading on bill 2025-36.
Bill 2025-36 an ordinance of Cameron Missouri granting a roadway easement the county of decaf Missouri for property located near grindstone reservoir between southeast pence road and grindstone redo road. I will entertain a motion to pass on a second reading bill 2025-36 by roll call. discussion. And who's maintaining that road? Is that the guy? I hope we named it. Cory Cory's road. I don't know. I had to put that in there.
I thought it was appropriate. He's paying for it to get names. All right. Any questions? John Breenidge, yes. John Fer, yes. Mark R, yes. Ros, yes. Becky Curtis, yes. All right, that takes us to new business. It looks like there is none under that. That takes us to our second public participation. Do we have any any new dividends that would like to speak? All right. That takes us to a miscellaneous comments from the staff.
No m. Thank you. Uh if we keep it brief, electric and water guys are kind of just doing maintenance right now while the weather's bad. Emergency call outs. We did have an outage on Crimson Court today. Had a transformer fault and take out some underground. So they got that repaired. Had a fuse off for that for a couple hours. Repaired or replaced? Repa. We replaced the transformer and repaired the under. We always like always have some on hand. Yeah, we have. Oh, I knew we did. I was at least res. Oh, that's why you have to do stuff. Thank
obviously once tree grew their day probably rest of the week. Uh I'm going to come in tomorrow morning and help them get the secondaries cleaned off and hopefully we'll get everything wrapped up. I think it is supposed to be like 36 or 37 degrees tomorrow. So, that should help quite a bit. Get everything melted. That's all I got. I got to stay on Dr. Carr's timeline. We are. We might even make lenses. Yeah, we since we're on Lance's time, I'll say that you all know what I'm doing with the ID TDs and T. So, and I'm done. Good. Wow, that's a record.
You're welcome. Well, I'm keep it brief, too. Uh, point board meetings Thursday. Hopefully, we have more. We can have enough for this to go around. I hope. Uh, lights at McCoral Park went really well. They all come on when the kids got to pull the switch. So, it went really So, it was very cold Saturday, but and windy. Yeah, it was very windy. So, uh, only one other thing I did track down and went through four supervisors and got permission from Dairy Queen to put those wfair signs on their property. Um, I contacted Dan
Reagan and he's going to meet up with me sometime just to make sure we're not going to put him as Mo's driving. Um, so I got to get in his mark and we're going to call in locates for that because there's fiber, electric, water, all that running through there. So obviously now we're going to do it until there's no big hurry of it right now, but that'll be on my list to do here in the next few months. So other [clears throat] than that, that's all we got. You're not doing psy What do you What does the park do?
Well, uh we've been trimming trees and the last couple weeks we've been getting the corporal park ready. We we had a bunch of the standups um that was built like in 20 years ago and they were pretty shoddy looking and stuff. So I talked to Dan and he gave me the okay and we bought six new light snowmen Christmas trees and stuff like that. So we just wanted to make sure the guys was since we only had two guys they made that's what they've been working on the last couple weeks getting ready for Saturday. So um now pushing snow a little bit in the parking lots and soon as it kind of dries up a little bit they're going to start trimming trees. Good. Good.
Yep. And we told we told the works guys that all this would help them since they're shortheaded. I'll push the snow too if we get another big snow in myself included. So more more than happy to help Tad out and his guys. Appreciate it. [clears throat]
Uh we finished our food drive total because we waited through the weather to unload it. Um, real busy day right now. I look forward to be like this for a while with the snow and pull down people. How's it with the uh since it's so cold? How's it with the homeless in our community?
There's a there's still some around, but it's uh they're transitive for usually a lot of moving south and summer they'll start moving back up. But there are a lot of resources says that we had a lot. Yeah.
Very busy today. We need to set up a stupid tags like they have down in Arizona. If they have to go out for something that's stupid, that person's responsible. I kid you not. Stupid tax. And you're not even for taxing. Huh? And you're not even for taxing. I hate taxes, but I think that's it's costing me money because people are being stupid.
About that just a little bit. that is starting to be kind of a going thing now with fire departments. Um if if it's the fault of of the person for just basically not an accident, then the cities are actually have put in ordinances where the fire departments can charge a pretty good chunk of change for not doing the correct thing, not slowing down sightings, that type of thing. Yeah. So, it is kind of starting. It's kind of It's kind of like putting a uh little bit of a percentage on your credit card.
Yeah, exactly. They were using it a lot down there for flash floods because everybody thought they could get across and then they'd have to call you guys out to come out and rescue them. About a bit of talk about it. All right. You want to just doing maintenance? trying to get How are we doing on the How are we doing on the um pipe tower this morning?
Okay, look good. I can't see why that bad. We're going to do another one tomorrow. You're back. They were good. We'll be ready to move some water line. That will bring up Corine's for Cameron Cameron will be ready you know if not this week next week. [clears throat] Wow. That's that started in 2012 or 147 $12,000 or $12 million. Home it's going to cost.
Um just a reminder that I give you guys your audit letters. I think I have most of them back. Did you get back yet? No. Okay. I had this issue. Okay. All right. Um and that's what Dan already covered. We're canceling the second meeting. So, and we start on the 9th of Yes. candidate filing opens on the 9th and we're having a special executive session. Okay. No, not here. Ross, our new guy.
Um, first couple weeks have been nice. Um, enjoyed talking to some of the staff. Um, them putting up with some of my questions and learning things. So, I appreciate the appreciate the welcome. Congrats. I think I'm never sure. Congrats on on getting up here. Thanks for having
um We appreciate you taking the taking the big swing, but it's not always easy. But anyway, now I really don't have a ton. I asked Dan already to ask my big question, which is if there's a way to get rid of personal progress. So, we'll talk later. I've got your answer. We'll talk later. Yep. You're probably That's true.
Yeah. I don't know about anybody else. Thomas Y. Well, I don't have anything. I appreciate the the authors and the the producers and sponsors of the Christmas parade this year. I know it was cold. That kind of really messes with it, but I thank them for that. I thank the people that showed up and um that's really all I have. Stay safe. Go slow. Go slow. We got 15 seconds, [clears throat] but Okay. I will entertain a motion to exit out of regular city council into executive attorney communications and personnel.
