Okay. Call is meeting to order at 2011. Welcome. Uh, let's call roll. Keith Chandler, Christy P, Seth Morrisy, Linda Wisson, Ken Heman, Satie Mercer, and our two guests, Sarah Walker, Jennifer. Jennifer, what's your last name? Dberg. D Meloberg, like it sounds. Okay, thank you.

1:25 – 1:53Speaker 1

E, everybody is present today. Thank you all. And have we had a chance to look over the minutes? I move to approve the minutes of February 8th, please. I second. All in favor?

1:51 – 2:34Speaker 1

I. All oppose. Thank you. Financial review. There really isn't much financial review of city council or as we talked before it's going to be the cadence is going to be every second meeting of the month there hasn't been one that last night I did update the expenditures everything's looking great advertisements they have 62% for the year um haven't spent our clothing a lotment yet and this year instead of doing shirts. We're going to make some really cool beach towels. Oh,

2:31 – 3:11Speaker 1

so Greg did this awesome design here. Actually, we just found out before this meeting we're having a sample sent. We're doing it with Dawn and uh we're having a sample set. It's going to arrive tomorrow with this design printed on it so we can see what it looks like, what it feels like, and everything. And if it looks good, uh we're going to get a bunch of these to hand out this summer t-shirts. Peach style would be fun. One size fits all. Exactly. Yeah, exactly. Nice. So really cool to Yeah. It's fun. Um but yeah, as far as financial stuff goes, I really don't have a lot to report on. So

3:16 – 3:53Speaker 1

staff updates. Uh Greg and I went to the governor's conference on tourism last week and it was as usual a lot of fun. We had a really cool North Coast group with people from Atoria and Canv and Seaside. So, we had a really good representation. Um, we had the privilege of getting to go up on stage as part of the uh North Coast Travel Ability um group uh and win the Governor's Award on Travelability and uh that was a lot of fun with about 30 of us on stage. Uh everybody's grinning. I'm going Yes, right here. That's the picture. the other one.

3:51 – 4:32Speaker 1

Uh but it was obviously a lot of fun. Um so that was really cool to be a part of that. The breakouts were fantastic this year. Uh everything uh about the whole conference was really really cool. Um they stepped it up. Next year we're going to Salem. So we'll uh they it took them a couple years. It was the biggest one ever. 635 I think attendees. So it was Was there that many people in the crowd when you got your award? Uh well it's award night. I mean that's the big building. show properly. We got to go to a Blazers game and it looked so good for them. We left early and then they really bad. You walked out at all to take over.

4:29 – 4:53Speaker 1

But uh and then yes, that travel Oregon resident survey is still going on through the 31st. So, uh I'm pushing that. I didn't bring any cards for you this quick. I'll have you tomorrow. SDA. Um and that's all I've got. Thank you. Great stats.

4:50 – 6:42Speaker 1

Take a look. February traffic was about even with last year about 380. February our phone volume is up a bit over last year, but that's not saying too much too much here. Feed volume was about even of last year. overall distribution of guides was up a lot. But again, that's because that just happens to be when they came and picked up all the guides was right at right in the first days of February to distribute regently. Um for the year uh down 5%, but um that doesn't tell the full story. Um we're getting a ton of guide orders like direct mail through the website. Well, our website is actually, I would say, down a little bit from last year, but we're also getting leads from Meta, Radio, um, Travel Oregon, and we are mailing out a ton of guides. So even though it's down 5%, the guides we are putting out the door are much higher value I would say because they're going to people who are ordered guides instead of just going out to contribute around website traffic for February was up about 6% active users were up 10% and that's a trend we've seen now in January and February 12th. of the year to date is well email signups are strong 823 a month organic request that's what I mean organic requests are down about 28% that is those are our website leads that we're generating and I'll tell you there's a wild card going on there where um it's like hard to even unwrap it but basically we're getting a ton of spam traffic from China and this has been happening since January. This has happened in the past before, but this year

6:40 – 8:40Speaker 1

our spam traffic is filling out guide orders and email signups. And so we've had to increase the security. And what we found out when we announced the new guide was here is that some legitimate users were being pulled out of there. So we took the security off for that period where we were getting that initial thing. But now we've switched to a new form called Gravity Form where we're going to have a little more security and we should hopefully be able to well it's in place now. So, we'll see who things will be better on the next report. But what's really interesting is I was just at a conference in Oceanside and the One West Tourism Conference is tourism entities like us from all over the Western United States. And in one of the labs, they were talking about this bot swarm that's going on in China. And the word on the street is that it's a LLM like AI being trained and it's just going out and doing all this stuff. And so they were really interested to hear that it was filling out our forums. They were like, "Oh, interesting. Well, hey, maybe that supports it." So anyway, um all that to say is our organic requests were down a little bit in February, but some of that is because we've we had to pump our security way up. Uh views per active user looking good. Engagement time is about the new website. I do have some updates here actually even beyond what I have on the sheet for the uh bed tax. I've gotten updates uh from the finance department there and there were late payments for Q1 2025 and Q2 2025. Now that's a fiscal year. So that's summer and fall into winter of last year. And so um I've updated the Q1 2025. So what you see there is accurate and too late but it's up it's it's up updated from what it was through J packets Q2

8:38 – 9:28Speaker 1

I I just got it today. So uh Holiday in and Catherine paid paid bed tax late and so the hotel tax for Q2 is 1 million 14,673. So it's up 3.3 yearoveryear. Um and vacation rental changed just a little teeny bit. It's 306577 down 2.9. Um and for the year those two totaled it's 1 point uh sorry for Q2 in total it's 1.3 million up 1.8%. We have January regional so clatsup county um hotel data occupancy down 2% growth bar up 3.2. revenue.

9:32Speaker 1

Sorry, already talked about the governor's conference, but it just

9:39 – 11:27Speaker 1

No, it's just it it's great. I mean, it's just too big of a thing that I didn't want to knock it in the in some ways. We're working on this now, but in some ways, what I use the director's report for is capturing big things so that the end of the year when I do annual report, it's all right there for so it um but also we are running text ads this year and every Travel Oregon monthly core email newsletter except in summer months. Um, this isn't a place we typically haven't been showing up recently, but we have some really photography now that really popped even on a small format. So, we so we've secured those. The few that went out when I was preparing this already, um, which was early February, had generated 320 engaged sessions, 25 guide orders to our website, had an average engagement of one minute 16 seconds per click through. Uh, Oregon Governance Conference coming up March 27th through 29th, Seaside Jazz and Blues April 3rd through 4th. Um, I heard from PDX monthly that they're going to be doing a digital feature on Seaside Jazz and so they requested some photos and thankfully Carrie and Greg shared some photos with us from last year's professional photos. Sent that to them. They're going to run something. I don't know what it's going to be. And then the Whiskey and Wine Walk weekend is May 15th, 16th. Our uh PR people are pushing all of these again. So, let's see. They're pretty sure they're gonna be able to get the ghost conference on again and they're really excited about the whiskey and wine loss. Apparently, the ghost conference was a big hit last year if you recall. I don't you probably haven't seen the clip, but basically they went on a morning TV show in Portland and they brought these doohickeys that like

11:25 – 11:39Speaker 1

Yeah. that read the energy and it started going off in the studio. So, had a good time. studio. Yeah. Probably built 10 years ago.

11:44 – 12:09Speaker 1

All right. Old business building grants. So, the mechanics and watershed council uh asked if they could if there'd be any interest in us having an update on what they're doing with the mural work. And so since this was on our old business, I thought yes, have you come on in? So here it is. Thanks you guys. Can I slide over here? So I can see it.

12:07 – 14:06Speaker 1

I think I know most folks. I'm Sarah Walker with the mechanical watershed council and my co-director J is here. We wanted to just start by thanking you all for the support for the mural project uh through the Vitality Arts program. Uh that support is pending. So we thought we'd give you a little bit of an update. We were very excited about the proposed location on the Gilbert building right across from our office face height, you know, great location. Um, and we were really pleased that we were able to get the property owner's permission in writing. Totally understood the concern about that pending sale, but we didn't quite feel comfortable going to the property owner with that ghost clause request. Seemed like a lot to ask for somebody dealing with sales negotiations. So, we've gone and explored a couple different options. None of them have come to fruition yet. We're in a little bit of a holding pattern because of that. I think there are a lot of folks that would like to see the mural before they approve it on their property, but we can't um can't solicit an artist without having the funding to do that. So, it's a chicken and egg scenario, and we can't pursue other funding without knowing if we're going to make that happen. Um, so mostly wanted to come and just get your advice, see how long you're willing to hold those pending funds. I know we had hoped to have that up by June, so we're starting to feel the crunch to make that happen. And also might just even ask considering removing that ghost clause. I would imagine you guys pretty regularly um get proposals where you don't know what's going to happen five years out and we could potentially proceed with the property owner's permission work with the new property owner and we also proposed having those murals on panels which would then be able to be moved if there were an issue. Um, we were chatting with somebody,

14:03 – 14:48Speaker 1

maybe Robin, about the rainbow trout tiles on that bathroom and that those used to be downtown. They were just moved whenever that building sold. So, I think if we could proceed with the proposed location and get some community buy in, have a draft. We'd be able to work with either the new property owner or come up with a backup plan. Either way, that's our update because it did just sell. It just did it. So shoot. So the current property owners permission probably does not help. Um I don't know. That's what I did. It did work. Yeah, it did.

14:49 – 15:23Speaker 1

I'm just thinking about just heard that too. So where that started? Yeah, I heard it there too. And uh actually buy another property. Um so one thing here in your talk um it's actually we appreciate that you think we have a lot of experience in this but this is actually a brand new grant for us. So it hasn't been tested

15:21 – 16:08Speaker 1

and you're bumping up onto some things where this is kind of in our learning phase as well. So I think it was pretty I mean anyone correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like it was pretty well determined we discussed this recently is that our grants in general we need to move towards requiring that they stay for five years or more as part of the work. Now, when I hear you talk about the paneling and things like that, I mean, that does kind of make things more fluid in the sense that perhaps you could sign the agreement saying you will work on finding a new home for it if it doesn't stay in one location, you know? So, we're we're learning as well.

16:07 – 16:35Speaker 1

Yeah. Yeah, that's wasn't the idea was tying it to the river, too. So, somewhere close to the river. So that would hope and being downtown. But yeah, it seemed like an incredible opportunity to educate visitors about the river and estuary and seaside. But yeah, we're all learning together in this I think. So there was a similar blank space on the tour sushi building. Um is that possible to contact?

16:33 – 17:10Speaker 1

I have not chatted with them. And I guess also what would help is some clarification on the time. I mean, we feel badly that we've been like, "Oh, hang on three months while we figure out what to do." And so, maybe some clarification on the timeline or what happens if we can't make that happen, you guys hold on to that money and put it back into next year's pot. It just doesn't get used. I mean, it's not it's not back in a pot. Like, it doesn't add to the pot for next year. Okay. It just doesn't get used. Um, and but I think that what it can be used up until July. I'm trying to remember what

17:08 – 17:52Speaker 1

it's really it's really kind of interesting actually. So we tried to cap these at July so it could be or end of June. So it could be clean, right? The city's fiscal year runs from July through the end of June. Okay. And so we're trying to keep it in one fiscal year. There is some precedent for our grants going out to December of the following year. However, the money was split between fiscal years in that case. So, they got half the fiscal year that they got the grant and they got the other half the second half. So,

17:50 – 18:28Speaker 1

I would have to get clarification from finance just like what is actually possible. Worst case scenario, you could always continue working on it and next year when we we're going to open the grants again in May, you could reapply with more certainty around place. Um because I think there are a couple other options for us to pursue, but we mostly felt like we've been asking you guys to wait three months. We owed you an update. Um I think Tour Sushi is one and CISU is another option. I think the carousel mall was not did not work out.

18:30 – 19:09Speaker 1

Yeah, but I was I thought it was going to be properties close to the river. I mean, CES is getting a little unless they have a property down there that I don't know. Could have just bought the one, but it gets so much foot traffic from people that are walking towards the river probably eventually. But yeah, nothing as good as the Gilbert block, but I liked it for sushi. Um, is it supposed to be on the river side or on the on the um celebration? Yeah. Yeah. So, you don't feel that's even that you couldn't go to the

19:06 – 19:40Speaker 1

I think I I think we possibly could, but again, I wanted to make sure that we weren't making you guys wait too long and that we're not getting to June brunch period. because that might be really appealing to to have it there. Well, it I would still recommend panels no matter what, right? Even if you because if they have to do improvements on the building, you don't have to remove something anyway. Right. Mhm.

19:41 – 20:20Speaker 1

Yeah. I guess I mean it's good to have the update, but I don't know that I'm particularly worried about it until the end of June comes, middle of June comes. I mean, at that point, you can say, you know, we can't we can't do it for next year. That's really helpful. Yeah. I think most of us are leaning that way. We'd like to see this happen. Okay. Yeah. We love love the money to be spent this time. So it's not just so it's not just unused. But u but if it doesn't then there's money next year. Okay. Next fiscal year which is still in this year.

20:18 – 21:00Speaker 1

And it would be okay if we didn't like if we had something worked out in June. We also were hoping to have it installed by June. It would be okay if it was installed by August or something. I'm going to I'm going to get the actual fiscal implications, what the requirements are for the city, and I'll get I'll email you. Great. Figure that out. Well, then I don't want to take up too much of your time asking advice and questions, but um do appreciate the opportunity very much and your patience. Um and we can maybe plan to give an update in June at the latest. I think we appreciate you bringing this type of project to us because it's kind of right now what we were thinking and having girls and stuff. Well, the trash can. Yeah. Yeah.

20:59 – 21:43Speaker 1

I had a really random thought when you're talking actually. Um, I agree with what Keith is saying, but for some reason, um, when you said that about it being near the river, it reminded me that we have this other pending art project going on in the alleyway. Is there any interest in approaching SCDA to see if the mural? Yeah, that's the sisu. Yeah, it's between Oh, that's where you were thinking between the Windham building and the other building. No, we chatted about not I think I approached those guys thinking about the alleyway project and they thought maybe there were too many moving pieces to make those line up, but there is that spot on the main drag there facing the circle. Yeah,

21:44 – 22:15Speaker 1

but that's helpful. Well, I just know that they're working on trying to figure out what that alleyway beautifification is going to look like as well. So maybe you could combine the projects. Okay. Yeah. And that's one one place that we know is a possibility, but we haven't able to really know for sure. So that's helpful. We have a little bit more time. Cool. So I'll follow up with you. Okay. Thanks you guys. Really appreciate you. Thank you. Glad to have somebody worked on a cool project. Yeah.

22:18Speaker 1

Okay. uh committee roll review.

22:26Speaker 1

I didn't do anything.

22:40 – 23:05Speaker 1

I know this is silly to ask, but for now, is this what I said? Okay. Okay. Like I just attach it. Is this what I Is this what I had chat? Did you help me right? Okay, great. Okay. Yeah. You do? So, this was my first shot at it. I think I emailed everybody. Yes.

23:02 – 23:32Speaker 1

Um, but again, this is just my first attempt. So, I'm not anybody else's recommendations for fixing what I missed. I went back and uh because somehow I lost my papers from the last meeting. So I went back and watched our meeting to then make sure I made the corrections that you talked about.

23:35Speaker 1

Last I've heard the sale wasn't finalized. Might have backed out, but that was months ago. So

23:46 – 24:23Speaker 1

just can't to the seaside network. Do we want to go through one by one or do you guys just want to continue to review it in silence and then get back to me? I had looked at this before so I I'll leave it. I think it hits exactly what we were the points that we were trying to hit with this. Um, I really didn't have any objections to anything that was in here. Um, yeah,

24:25 – 24:52Speaker 1

I think my uh answers to the million questions uh were appropriate what they were asking. I did not again I left it blank because I still do not understand even after trying to get answers from Spencer. What ongoing focus or time commitment does committee provide for each one of these? I don't even know how to answer that, right?

24:50 – 25:31Speaker 1

So, I left it blank. But if anybody has any other ideas as to what's meant by that or what you want me to land okay everybody's done their viewing uh do we do I ask for a um the vote to pass this as something that we're presenting to the city.

25:33 – 26:09Speaker 1

All right. Is there a motion to uh present this as written to the city for our recommendations of the committee role? I will second that. So, okay. Second. All in favor? I. All opposed. Okay. Thank you very much. Let me know if there's anything else that you need we need to present it or you need. So should I just send it to Spencer? I mean I can happy to do it. But yeah, if you if you can then uh that would be great.

26:08 – 26:52Speaker 1

If there's something that he probably does he always answer it correctly. I'm sure he'll you know um I watched the um session that he held caution, you know. Yeah. And someone in the audience, I don't think they showed their face, um, but someone who was there watching, you know, said, you know, this requires certain skills to be able to fill out this kind of document. And it's true. It does. And I'm sure there's a lot of committees that are going to be really struggling with this. And what you wrote was so concise and so clear. You know, you have answered questions.

26:47 – 27:32Speaker 1

Yeah. and and I can't see what issue he would have with it. I'm not going to admit how long it took to fill this out. Well, thank you. Probably more than 15 minutes. I'm glad I did get stuck with that. Believe me, I've done what you're insinuating there. Um, all right. Um, question. So, I got the email from Spencer. Did he review this because it was all aimed at the T in his email? I don't think so. But I think you asked a question.

27:29 – 28:03Speaker 1

Yeah, he was answering my my email uh about it because it was and it really was just focused on this middle one because everything else I'm like, h this is the best I can come up with for answers. And then I I even with that additional length email like apparently I'm I'm too undereducated to be able to comprehend because it's just not it wasn't clicking um even after that even I I attended the session too. I attended the work session and and got the email and I still

28:01 – 28:45Speaker 1

struggled with it just myself for my comprehension. So um it just it just is what it is. If, like I say, if anybody else wants to contribute and fill in some blanks, uh, I'm all for it. But, uh, I apologize that I apologize that I missed that meeting. It's the only meeting I've missed in a year. Oh, sorry. The work session. Yeah. I mean, like, you know, I I don't know that it would have I don't know. It has work. I don't know that it would have made an impact based on, you know, for for what I filled in the blanks for though. I mean, but if you have, seriously, if you have an idea what I should be filling in.

28:43 – 28:57Speaker 1

Okay. Uh, well, now it's too late. You already north of one side.

28:54 – 29:39Speaker 1

Yeah. Okay. So, I presented to the city council and the budget committee uh on grant request for the next fiscal year. And as you know, the TAC had several. And um I'm happy to report that the accessibility improvements to the sign were very wellreceived and they're very interested in hearing about uh us developing that. They also liked um the uh looking into putting a sign at the Yon. Like both of those ideas weren't as keen on the on the archway, but um hey, I can't get a

29:37Speaker 1

fact start working.

29:39 – 30:30Speaker 1

So, uh anyway, one interesting thing that came up um because they're interested now I really need to get legitimate estimates around what things might cost and what we're really looking to do. So, I had a meeting with uh Paul, the public works director, and Jeff in community planning, and we were talking about some of the intricacies of these things as it relates to ODOT and things like that. And one item that came up that um we wanted to pass by you is um you see where that fire danger sign is right there? There's one of the ideas that those guys are kicking around is actually relocating the sign to where that fire danger sign is and and essentially swapping places here

30:27 – 31:07Speaker 1

because they're looking at paving that parking lot over there and then developing a trail to it. the development of the trail, digging out and everything and and putting sand down, packing it and uh asphalt uh apparently is going to be really expensive and uh timeconuming or something. And it just seems like it might be a good idea and honestly a better experience especially for people who are near the sign to move it. Um so, so why was it placed where I think because of the power and I think there was an old sign area there. But

31:06 – 31:18Speaker 1

Josh, can I add one other thing too? Sure. If you look at the web maps, the property line is like right here. Give you more. That's actually that's actually where you enter seasite. Yeah.

31:16 – 32:02Speaker 1

So that's that's that's another point. There's there's three of them actually. So one is that it's a shorter path for people with accessibility problems to get to the side. Okay. Um and it's less expensive to develop obviously. Two, it removes the sign from the powerpole proximity. So when you're around it and everything taking pictures, you have a big power pool in the way. And third, um you know, over a long enough time horizon, uh there could be things happening on the tribal lands over there. And moving it kind of will help the development and improvements around it, not encroach upon what their vision is. And also, like Seth said, if they're taking a selfie with the welcome to side, they're basically guaranteed to be on the tribal lands

31:59 – 32:16Speaker 1

where it is now. So that's that's why it's coming up. Um, do the the tribal lands go all the way over to the highway? I thought they were set that I think. I don't think so. I think it's right starts right here, doesn't it?

32:14 – 33:41Speaker 1

Yeah, it's Yeah, it starts right there. And they're putting a sign up with a canoe and stuff pretty soon as well down the way. And they brought that to city council. I'm not sure when that's going in, but they they did approve that. Um, the only sort of trade-off that I see, so long as the people who are experts in this say that it's cheaper to move the sign and to, you know, like if as long as that's feasible, um, is kind of counterintuitively when you're entering town and you're a long ways away, it actually helps to have the sign next to the power pole because you have a clean sight line at it. Whereas when it's between the power poles, the power poles will actually be over them just a little bit for a little while. However, when you get closer to it, then it opens it up and then it's a better view. So, there there is a slight trade-off. It's kind of hard to illustrate that without like next time you drive that way, just look and you'll see that it actually is in perfect view when you're a long ways away from it. But then when you get up close, you get this power line and the auxiliary wires coming off and and it just kind of blocks it. So, anyway, we just thought we would open it up to you guys and I'd love to hear your feedback on that idea. Can I mention one other benefit about doing that is even if the parking is back here, I would guarantee most folks will just pull over anyways and not actually go to the lot, but if it's right here, they're probably it's going to be pretty obvious. It's a good deal.

33:38 – 34:23Speaker 1

And they don't put that lighted sign that says no fireworks or watch for traffic, they don't they're not going to put that in front of the sign, right? Is that usually farther down? So, no, the fireworks are always there because ODOT actually granted them. No, not that. But the the United bring that out in the summer. I'm not don't remember where they'll be on like the other side of the park on the south side. Yeah, I thought but I couldn't remember. Okay. Obviously, hopefully they don't park it right in front of the sign. So, I mean, is it is that parallel? Is the fire sign parallel to the other pole? No. No. Oh, is it? So, do we need the fire danger sign?

34:19 – 35:22Speaker 1

Yes. So ODOT ODOT granted that and actually has anchors that that ODOT sunk into the ground there that the fire what department puts in there. So one piece of this is when we get approval to move the sign we need to have ODOT at least let us move the anchors as well. You have to swap them out. So is it moving or basically building a whole desc described. here. It's in the middle.

35:21 – 36:02Speaker 1

Oh, okay. So, it' be it's basically almost center cut. So, this would be the access. And there even I mean we could even look at reorienting it so it's not exactly half and half. It could be a little bit a skew to like make a certain backdrop that is like a highway or a backdrop like tree. I'm not exactly sure. You don't have a perfect sight line from there. Doesn't have to go right here, but you know, you could angle it just slightly too. But see, did this answer your question where it's at? Sure.

35:59 – 36:31Speaker 1

There'll be enough space to make mirror all up about the river. Yeah, exactly. Just put a big plank space. Yeah. And they said they could run electricity, too. I So I don't remember the portion before. Well, they have events out there, so that might have been right after. Yeah.

36:30 – 37:14Speaker 1

It's September. They usually do it in September. And Josh, somebody like looked at that that they originally they think you can move it without damaging it. They have the forms, right? I mean, they This isn't one of those things when the public works director tells me this is more feasible. I kind of got to take his word for it. It never would have occurred to me. That's what I told him, too. I was like, that didn't even occur to me because I just thought, well, that's where that goes. It's in the ground. I'm a computer guy. I don't This doesn't I don't understand this kind of stuff. I would think it'd be easier just to build a new one. Yeah, you think they I think they have, but definitely the polls they have for Yeah, they have poles. But I think the prom thing too as well.

37:12 – 37:54Speaker 1

They have a farm out at the cemetery as well, I think. Yeah, because they built the little entrance picked out. Would we have to put anchors? Would we have to put that? Can't we just move that sign? Move the move the fire sign in between the light posts and build new light posts for the seaside sign. Jazz it up a little. Jazz it up the fire. Jazz up the fire side. You always told me like if I could just take this wire danger sign and put it here. Yeah, that would be great. Exactly. And I said, "Oh, you mean like welcome to seaside. You're in danger."

37:52 – 38:36Speaker 1

You're not in danger. depends on how you look at it. Move it and angle it. I think it'd be great because I drive by it every day in the summer and there's always people laying on it taking photographs with it. You know, it is right. Yeah. It is all that tree that the portaotty's under is gone. Yeah. Oh, really? And it's fell and is gone. The tree has more of a view. that I think to the point of this media with this whole idea around it is, you know, this gets beautified and there's a nice pave trail in this would look like a really nice spot to welcome yourself to seaside.

38:35 – 39:03Speaker 1

I mean, can you see the water from there? Is there a way? You can right here. I just don't know if like I you know, I'm just not exactly sure. I don't I'll have to look to see what the status is on commission. Just because leaves right now doesn't mean they're dying. It's like the other one. It just started falling apart. Fell fell to the ground.

39:01 – 39:39Speaker 1

It's not on the agenda, but we're also looking into the chevron um sign. And we found this ODOT prepared uh diagram here. And this right here is a chevron. This is a highway sign's right about here. And if they don't, this is kind of in a no man's land, but the way that this this is their right of way. And as it bends over like that and as it bends through here, if you continue that through, we should be pretty good to go. But we're going to get assurances from OD out that they're not going to, you know,

39:36 – 39:57Speaker 1

who is OD out on the property that that sign? I think it's on an old um a really old rightway. Back in the day, there used to be a road right here. So, I think it's on a I think it's on a strange Is that a city right away or the They because Marcy was never sure.

39:55 – 40:44Speaker 1

Yeah, well, it's really it's really tough. Yeah, exactly. It's it's really a murky area and as this shows this heavy line here is kind of what you have to worry about. You wouldn't want to put anything outside that line. But the question is how do they extrapolate that from to here? I don't know exactly, but we're going to get confirmation. The thing is if there's something to do here, they're probably according to Jeff and and uh all they're going to ask the city to do it historically. And if that's the case, they should sign off and let us create a sign there. as well. So, as soon as I get upgrades updates on that, um I will start a design process to just get some ideas that we can um vote on to send to uh out. We'd have to put it out for bid.

40:43 – 41:28Speaker 1

So, you're thinking about changing the existing sign and maybe go into the Well, so this is what happened. So, this is what happened during the um budget presentations. Originally, what we pitched was accessibility improvements at the north and south There wasn't a lot of interest in the south side because of the limited area there. We don't have a parking lot. I mean, I know you've talked about can we move it to the other side of the highway, all sorts of stuff like that. What they were interested in is improving this sign and having this be our northbound sign. It would be it wouldn't be the same sign, but it'd be within family to the other two signs and it would have a digital reader board component.

41:25 – 41:45Speaker 1

That's the hope. That's the vision. And so we think in the next fiscal year we can so long as they vote on it and approve it, we can probably um accomplish the north sign and get an RFP together for this. So and so that would eliminate the ready pitcher sign.

41:44 – 42:29Speaker 1

I don't really eliminate it. It would just kind of it would kind of move the u the focus on improvements to this spot for northbound shop. I'm excited to see renderings on that stuff. Okay. Uh committee comments. Public comment. Okay. Uh with that we adjourn at 2:42 p.m. Oh, is that a record? Well, yeah, but only because we moved started. There's a tree board coming.
