Uh, many, uh, lying vehicles, stuck vehicles. Um, a few problematic people in the city. Uh, a person received a house ban. Came back, so she got a chance to go to Reno. Um, a few people stayed. After they stuck a Burn of the Playa because they wanted to take a shortcut that didn't work. We had a blockade of the 34 for about 18 hours. And to get back to the question you asked at the last CAD meeting, what are our plans? So we implemented a plan. We agreed with the Highway Patrol to blockade the 447. As soon as the overload began to overwhelm Gerlach, we redirected the cars to the 360 range and then the gate opened. We had a few missed announcements, a handful of traffic accidents and collisions and probably a whole lot of other things that I don't remember.

How was the conclusion, in your opinion, in general, from a communicative point of view? I mean, in the morning it seemed a bit, for me it seemed a bit, how should I put it, just a lack of communication about what the plan is and who is doing what, even though it looked like there was more to the plan in the afternoon.

Sorry, sorry that you can't see me in the picture. Good evening, John Ray Houston, to the protocol. I would like to leave Gerlach this morning after 29 days in a row up there. So, even if I miss being up there with you, it's nice to finally be home for the evening. A relatively steady month in the last month. Since the last CHB meeting, we have processed a total of 29 cases. This is combined with 11 patients who were transported to hospitals in Reno, 12 treatments on site, 5 stonings and a refusal We also had two simultaneous incidents where our crew was already bound by one operation, in both cases transports, and then another emergency call came in. In both cases, we were able to react with resources that were otherwise bound to the Burning Man area, since we had several units there and were authorized to withdraw them for other operations. In the Gerlach region, this worked really well in both cases. We also supported a search. And then we were in an interesting situation where we had several units in Nevada that were not yet legally bound to Burning Man. There was a big fire, I think everyone knows, down in Reno. So we could actually send a rescue car and support Remsa with mutual help and take on some operations in the city of Reno. Gerlach remained very well covered at all times. Unfortunately, last month, of course at the most unfavorable time, our new MEDIC 83 racing car, which is literally standing on a brand new chassis and I think has suffered a gear damage of less than 10,000 miles. This ambulance was towed to Reno. We use Big Blue in advance and will use one of our van rescue cars as soon as we have removed the dust from it until the other car is back from the workshop, where it is under warranty. And today, about an hour ago, I was told that while this ambulance was parked for repair, someone drove backwards against it and damaged it. I can give a short update to the volunteers in Gerlach, even if I wasn't really prepared for it. Since our last meeting, we have actually reacted to four or five emergency calls. We received four or five calls. Most of them were stopped immediately. But we had some car accidents. We had a missing person in the desert who was found long before someone told us that she had been found. So it was an entertaining, picturesque ride through the north. Then many people had trouble keeping their cars and trailers on the 447 on the wheels. So there were a lot of vehicle overhangs. Fortunately, there were no major injuries. So I think we overcame it quite well. We had a overturned tank blaster.

Was that before the last CRB meeting? It was after, okay. It was shortly after.

That's why there is this covered area on the 447 that still smells strongly of gasoline. It will probably stay that way for a while. That's all that happened to the fireman. Yes, Christy.

Yes, Christy Evans. I'm just curious... Why were the volunteers from Gerlach sent looking for a missing person? I assume that the missing person in the desert was a reference to the event. I'm just asking why Gerlach reacted.

That's a good question. Normally we don't do search and rescue operations. Search and rescue services are provided by the criminal department in Nevada. Your assumption is as good as mine, probably because we were closer. And you thought I had nothing to do. But we could go there and Greg had time to accompany me. So we could at least look for the man, but he was long gone. Is there anything else?

We had a medical emergency at school while the class was still going on, right during the accident with the tank loader and the leak on the 447 at the dam. We now come to point 8, the report on service inquiries from previous CAB sessions. We have two very important statements here that we would like to share with you. There was a question for Deputy Cruz from the sheriff's office of Washoe County on what the plan would look like for the traffic regulation should the Plyer close in the time of the Burning Man event, which currently appears. Sergeant John Miller shared with us that plans exist to close the Playa entrance as well as other possibilities. Burning Man implements a leveled reaction plan. In the event of a closure of the Playa entrance, road blockades can be set up in different places depending on the circumstances. Since there are many different possible circumstances with a closure of the Playa entrance, this reaction plan is flexible. Second point, the number of post offices for Empire has changed and it was asked whether this is the tax base for the Washoe County and the services provided for the areas around the municipality of Gerlach. In addition, Gerlach continues to offer fire and rescue services for these areas, if they are not part of the tax base. The Washoe County reports that in the area north of Township 22, to which the Geothermic Power Plant, Empire and Gerlach belong, there is no difference in the services provided or the taxes raised due to the number of post offices. All areas will be supported by the general household of Washoe County. The basic taxes paid by each citizen in Washoe County, including Incline, Truckee Meadows, Empire and Gerlach, support the fire department and the rescue service in Gerlach, regardless of the number of post offices.

My home on the property of the district in Short Street already needed new floors before we moved in and now needs new windows for more than a year. The message that comes from the tenants of the school buildings seems to be, we don't care. We don't want to do the absolute minimum anymore. That's why I'm asking the Washoe County school district to make it better. So yes. And I'll be back as soon as this agenda comes up again. So thank you.

Yes, hello. This is Candy Ramos from Washoe County. I just wanted to say that the Washoe County School District was on an earlier agenda, but we had to cancel the meeting. That was on our side at Washoe County. It was because we hadn't hung up the agenda on time. And we thought we would publish it on time. In fact, we have to hang it up three days in advance. We thought it would be published. We looked into it. It wasn't actually there, so we couldn't cancel the meeting. For the protocol, my name is Brian Wadsworth. I am a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe and also the Democratic candidate for the office of the Washoe County Commissioner for District 5. I want to thank the CHB for allowing me to speak, as well as the Gerlach community for being here, and I also want to thank the community for always being so welcoming and hospitable. I've been here several times, not just to take part in the CHB meetings, but I also held my first civil assembly for my campaign here at the beginning of the year and was able to attend the Pride Festival in June, which was great. I'm glad we all survived the Burning Man traffic. It was so nice to drive here and not get stuck in a long queue of cars. I'm very glad we all made it. But a little to me as a candidate, I was born and raised here in the north of Nevada and a product of the rural Nevada. I grew up in the reserve of the Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe. And I did two Bachelor of Science degrees at the UNR, one in business administration and the other in accounting. In addition, I graduated from Gonzaga University with an MBA in entrepreneurship for American Indians. As for me as a candidate, I think that district 5 is very diverse. We have many different communities here. We have pre-city, urban, rural and tribal communities and we earn a commissioner who understands exactly how all these communities interact and what the respective needs are. The needs in the Northwest are completely different than here in Gerlach or where I come from at Lake Paiute Pyramid. That's why I'm of the opinion that we as commissioners deserve this representation here. And I think I'm the person who understands the different needs of all communities here in District 5. I didn't just grow up in rural Nevada, but also lived in the whole of Washoe County. I have a pretty good perspective in South Reno. Since I now live in the Pyramid Lake Reserve, I have a pretty good perspective on the different needs here in District 5. And so I am committed to responsible growth and development. For me, this means that we need sustainable resources to support any new growth and development here in Washoe County. Falls ich gewählt werde, verspreche ich, vierteljährliche Bürgerversammlungen abzuhalten, um sicherzustellen, dass alle unsere Gemeinden hier in Bezirk 5 informiert bleiben.
