Good evening board members. I have before you resolution 001-2026, which is an amendment to the 2025 policies adopted January 7th of last year. At that time, we advised the board that the HR manager would be meeting with department heads over the summer to review the policies and to determine if there was a need to make any edits. We had found nine policies that required edits, including a riskmanagement update and language changes based on industry standards. These changes help to ensure personnel are compliant with township's needs. I've supplied the updated draft edits for your review and ask if you have any questions at this time. Any questions? Thank you, Mr. Stanley. Resolution number two-2026. Mr. McCord.

Um I won't I won't take the board's time with that now. Certainly keep you up to speed as the year uh goes on, but we look forward to uh having another very uh a very good uh year. Thank you, Mr. Schwer. I'm going to echo the chief's comments and congratulate you both on uh your election and look forward to all the exciting projects that we have coming on board this year at public works. Mr. Carlson,
Mr. Stanley, congratulations on your reelection. Mr. record. Just a welcome to you both and welcome back and looking forward to the year. Certainly, last but not least, Mr. Snider. Uh again, just welcome to both of you and congratulations on your appointments and thank all of the friends and family um and visitors that are here in attendance tonight for coming out. So, look at official comments. Mr. Clingerman, uh no business comment, but a personal note that I became a grandfather for the second time today. Congratulations. Thank you, Mr. Barry.
Uh, just wanted to thank everybody for all the kind words. I'm looking forward to working with you all. Thank you all for coming out today and thank you to the public works. I went to the snow kids event and that was a great event. Got the community out and involved. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for that. Mr. Culp. Yeah, I'd like to congratulate Mr. Barry on his election win and his trustee position and also Mr. Posie on his re-election. Not that it was ever.
Thank you. Uh because I get to end, I'm gonna give a little speech. Uh today marks the beginning of my seventh year as township trustee. Serving this community has is and has been the greatest honor of my professional life. Since my appointment in 2020, we have moved from vision to reality in so many fields. We've seen a reactivation of the former Lexus Nexus campus by ICP. We've partnered with North Point Development to bring global logistics to the Wright Brothers Airport. Through strategic edge grants, we brought high-paying back jobs back to Miami Township. And right now, we are laying the foundation for the next 50 years with the Miami Crossing master plan, transforming the Dayton Mall area into a modern hub for our residents. But growth is not just about buildings. It's also about service. We brought Township government into the digital age with our zoning portal. Our public's works fleet is more modern and efficient than ever. Our parks are more safe and more accessible. Our police department has maintained its national accreditation through a seamless leadership transition and our fire district continues to modernize its equipment to meet the challenges of a growing community. I would love to take credit for all of this, but my part is small because the simple truth is leadership is only as good as the people who identify the challenges, find the opportunities, and execute the vision. Our staff, police, and fire personnel are among the most dedicated public servants in the state of Ohio. I'd like to recognize them. Chief Nielsen, you're the newest member of the team, but your impact is already being felt. Mr. Schwikert, your growth as public works director has been nothing but remarkable. You've earned my highest praise, which, as you know, usually comes with the most stinging jokes. Tie or no Tai, I look forward to your future here. Mr. Carlson, your enthusiasm for private public partnerships is unmatched. You've built an elite team, and the township is better for it. Mr. Stanley, your expertise and consistency filled a large need here, and your work is appreciated. Mr. McCord, you are the steady hand in the face of chaos. Your ability to
navigate the complexity of local government finance keeps us on track. Mr. Snyder, your transition to the big seat has been anything but smooth sailing, but you've handled every challenge with the resolve that proves you are exactly where you belong. To my colleagues, Mr. Culp, the senior statesman. I look forward to our continued collaboration as we maintain our standards of excellence. Mr. Barry, welcome to the board. I remember that mix of excitement and responsibility that you feel on your first night here, and I'm eager to see the fresh energy you bring. Lastly, Mr. Klingerman, thank you once again for stepping into the brereech to serve when you are needed. To my friends and the esteemed guests here tonight, your friendship and mentorship has always been appreciated. To my family, thank you for the love, support, and forgiveness for the time away this role requires. Finally, my last message is to the public. As I take this oath today, my commitment remains as firm as it was on day one. I promise to listen more than I speak, to manage our resources with absolute transparency, and to ensure that Miami Township remains a place we are proud to call home. Thank you. With that, I adjoin the meeting at 6:14. Let's go eat some cupcakes.
