Thank you. So attached to the agenda, I have a lot of information. There's some memos and job descriptions. Starting with the police department job, this is the office supervisor. This is the only one at the police department that needed pricing and needed a job description revision, actually creation for this one. So what I'm asking on this one is for approval for the job description that's attached, and the pricing for this position, and then also authorization to fill this position once it's approved by the council in April. And any questions on that one? I'm happy to answer any of those.

Okay, so we are gonna take them through the list here. So the first up is 26Dash0269. So that's the request to approve police administrative office supervisor pricing and fill the position. the committee, we'll do it that way. 26Dash0270 is a request to approve the Department of Public Works job descriptions, pricing, and fill the open positions. Discussion or motion?

Yes. So these next two items, these are for the DPI reorg. And included are the job descriptions, the pricing, just like it was for the police department. This one, also, just wanna let you know that the overall savings, after we calculated all of the costs for moving people, the overall savings is actually around $50,000 and that would go back towards the general fund. In addition to asking for approvals on the job descriptions, the pricing, and the filling of these positions, I would also like to have the authorization to fill those at the discretion of the mayor and department head as far as the timeline of making those offers, simply because we're gonna have a lot of a lot of jobs and a lot of moving parts, and we we will probably be giving some of the offer letters right after council and then some of them the week after.

So that'll all be part of the resolution that we provide in in two weeks for the council meeting. I think that was all I needed to cover for those two next items. Those are separating out those two departments. I know we've talked a lot about that already in the past, but if there's any questions about it, please feel free to turn on two.

So we're looking for, we'll start with twenty six-two seventy, which is the request to approve the Department of Public Works tab. Can fill open positions. The Department of Public Works can be just so we we have we have an ordinance that says specific titles which happen to be department heads need to be approved by counsel. We're gonna be revising that because there isn't a department of public works. This is a charter ordinance. It can't take effect for six days. So, actually, we can fill department of public works position right away.

We can just do that. But there

However, because the recommended candidate for the Department of Parks and Recreation falls under our relations policy, related individuals, that that needs a vote. So that will have a vote. That will be separate. But the other positions, none of them need

And that one is a result of removing the social events from group and then moving that over to the parks and recreation department. This the funding mechanism for this one is a little bit different, but I'm asking for the same thing for this approval of those job descriptions, pricing, and then the filling of those positions once they're approved by council.

So this item is in relation to the the last ones we talked about. This is just putting all of these positions onto our compensation structure, and eliminating the positions that we're replacing, and then getting the formal approval from committee and counsel to authorize that these positions be placed in the grades as recommended by Carlson Dutman, and then he will eventually put this into our employee policy manual.

And this has been on the agenda the last couple of months because we are working on getting some new apprentice positions added and getting rates set to pay pay those employees. So we're just asking for approval to for approval on these these new rates for all the new apprentice positions.

So a college student current college student at UW Madison reached out to the office wondering if she could do an unpaid internship probably around twenty hours a week. City's not gonna incur any costs. And after I sent this item out, Alderman Bray wrote me and said this is an excellent student, former student of hers, and it's wonderful the city is providing this opportunity. I hope you'll you'll grant it. We have plenty of things for her to do and to job shadow. So, hopefully, it'll be a valuable experience. I'll make a motion to approve. Second.

And this is on the agenda because we did put into place in December a new policy which allows department heads to authorize some additional one time PTO awards to employees for, you know, recognizing in some way for some some way that they're going above and beyond or making a difference at the city. This is for the first quarter, how many hours have been issued, and it's

per ordinance, get the authorization to fill those positions. So
