We're here to receive a check and some notification from Congressman Ted Lou that we've been awarded slightly over a million dollars to help build out some public safety digital infrastructure here in the city of Torrance. I do want to commend city staff for putting in a really good package. Easier for me to fight for funding if the package itself makes sense.

There's two components about what we're looking to fund. The first is a CBRS system, a direct connect broadband connection between city hall here and various points throughout the city where we could have connectivity for our cameras and other communication devices to support the operation of our real-time response center as well as kind of proliferating our camera footprint throughout the city to be used for public safety needs. This is just the beginning of a long-term project and an investment in digital infrastructure. This was something that was easy to sell and easy to fight for. this funding will help go to that. But also, I fought for funding for Torrance repeatedly. So, honored to have gotten $2 million for Torrance homelessness response. Got another $850,000 for Columbia Park. And now we're fighting for additional fiscal funding for Torrance.
