Ask We call this meeting to order. The Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 public hearing regarding the 2025 military. I'll let the record reflect that there's nobody here. Uh we do have only two councilmen uh present. Um which is fine and we don't need a quorum for a public hearing. Um so I will move to new business. uh open the public hearing to see if anyone is here who would like to speak uh in favor of the 2025 mill rate increase hearing none. Is there anyone here like to speak against the 2025 millig rate increase? Uh hearing none, that portion of the meeting is declared closed. And I do want to um for the record, Logan, if you would give a little update for those who may be watching online.
Yes, sir. Um so what we're proposing is uh a recommended approval of a 2025 mill rate of 6.934 mills. This is an increase of only 0.400 mills over the roll back. Um this is not going to increase collections a whole heck of a lot. This is just to maintain um basically status quo on services without any drastic cuts. And this is mainly in part um because our tax digest did not grow very much at all over the past um year given that we still face major inflationary um pressures that we have to keep up with in the general fund. And as you know, the general fund is comprised primarily of public safety, about 60%. And then of the general fund revenues, only about 30% of that is from property taxes. So we're still very diversified in our revenue streams, but um we still rely on property taxes a great deal just to maintain our quality services.
With this increase on a $400,000 home, that's what $60 a year. Is that correct? What' you have there, Beth?
That I don't have that exact one here.
Sorry to didn't I didn't bring that. Okay. But but I but I think it is it was less than 40 bucks for 300. I think it was around 30 something dollars a year, but I don't have that. Okay. Um well, we will revisit that uh this time next week. And I think we have we have another uh public hearing scheduled for is it 10:00 a.m. next Tuesday? 11:00 a.m. next Tuesday, and then we'll do one uh at 5, which will be before our our regularly scheduled meeting. Uh that being said, are there any questions? 11 and six. 11 and six. So, we'll just do the public hearing then roll right into our Yep. regular meeting. Yep.
Okay. Um I'll entertain a motion to adjurnn. Please move. Have a motion and a second. All in favor signify by saying I. I. All oppose like sign. Motion carries. Meeting adjourned. Thank you everybody.
