has been adopted. Since there is no public hearing today, the chair is not going to be opening the floor to a public hearing. Sorry. [laughter] So, the meeting is now open for new business. Uh the Lindsay sub area plan, this is only anformational. So, no action required at this meeting from the commissioners. Amy All right. So, we I just wanted to bring this to your attention because we had the public hearing today for the subary plan. So, I would like planning commissioners to go to our city website, go to departments, click on economic development. If you haven't done this already, I'm sorry that we didn't share this, but this is how you get to all the information. You'll go Oh, I can't even find it. Where did it go? Subbury plans. You go to subary plans on the left side in the green, you click on Lindsay and all the information comes up. So if you go to public hearings, this is a notice of public hearing. These are all the exhibits. So this is what got presented at the hearing today. So for example, you click on Lindsay submary plan. it comes up and you can see everything that we went through. So, especially for

1:56 – 2:440

the two moving on to council, this will be coming to you at the end of January and 1st of February. So, I just want you to to know what's going on. And so instead of doing a full presentation that would probably take an hour to go through everything, I thought it would just be easier to show you where the information was, how to find it, and let you pruise it at your own own will instead of me um giving you 15 slides and calling it a wrap. So anyway, this is where you find everything. Um if you have any specific questions about it, I can definitely answer that. Um at the hearing, there were no public comments, so that was um shocking and good. Um, so it was a 35 minute um uh hearing.

2:43 – 3:260

You mean there was no questions or concerns about anything? No, there were no public comments. Wow. And we only received 11 total uh public comments uh between agencies and um citizens. Well, that's a good sign then. Yes. So any that I mean this is kind of what it looks like. Mhm. So, the project after the sub area hopefully gets adopted, this is 79th. It goes back to the the chicken farm back here. Um, so 79th East is this is phase one or or phase one and phase two. I'm not sure quite yet. And this will be phase either two or three. So, this is all under contract with MJS investors.

3:23 – 4:070

U, so they'll be building that out. And then this side is up for whenever um those property owners want to go forward or not or or not go forward. So that's about it. I just want to give you an update on where it was at and how far it's come. We issued the final EIS at the end of November. Um along with the the notice of public hearing. So everything is technically complete environmental wise um comment wise, procedural wise. all of that. So, I have a question. Was it recorded? It was recorded. Okay. So, we could watch the recording, too. Oh, you have to do a public records request to get the hearing.

4:06 – 4:510

Okay. But yes, if you do a public records request, we can send you the hearing. It I don't know how we're going to send it because it can't go via email. So, it have to go through our computer program. Okay. But yes, don't mean to be a a butt on that, but that's just the way we have to document it to share it. That's it. Okay. Well, thank you, Amy. Commissioners, any questions? Okay. So, go ahead and move on to uh public comments. Obviously, no public comments. [laughter] Okay. Do we have any online comments?

4:500

We did not receive any online comments for tonight's meeting.

4:52 – 5:410

Okay. Awesome. So, the next order of business, um, commissioner updates and comments. Uh, the chair does have a comment that she would like to say, and that is really just to thank each each and every one of the planning commissioners here um, for all their great service and dedication to the planning commission, for all that you did here in 2025 um, and just supporting the city of Arlington. And thank you. And as you know that we are losing two of our commissioners um, to city council. Congratulations to both Tim and Nathan. Um, but I did want to say thank you to all of you and then also to city staff for all the hard work and dedication that you do for the city of Arlington. You are amazing and the city should be proud of you. So, I just personally wanted to say thank you.

5:400

Thank you. Anybody else? Commissioners? Okay.

5:46 – 6:310

Yeah, I just had something to say. Again, I wanted to thank the city staff and this team. Uh, I've learned so much being on the planning commission. And I just want to say for any public who are watching, if you get an opportunity to join one of these commissions, please look at it. Find something that you're passionate about, apply for it. You'll learn a lot about how the city actually operates and get to be part of the solution instead of just wondering how everything gets done. So again, I appreciate the staff and this team for the two years teaching me what what really happens and and how we can best affect and make the city be a positive place.

6:290

Awesome. Okay, if there's nothing else, next order of business will be the city staff updates.

6:35 – 7:450

I just have one. So with two commissioners leaving, we are opening uh up for uh replacements of of those two people. So, first off, congratulations Nathan and Tim. Very excited to see you move on to city council. Um, but sad to see you leave here. So, you guys had a great or you have a great team right now and so hopefully we can continue the the same team, different but same team moving forward. So, thank you. Um, so I'm looking at I'll be looking at um the applications this week, the ones that have been submitted and then I am going to be gone the last two weeks of December. So, we can't uh everyone on planning commission has to be appointed at council. So, they wouldn't be able to be appointed until um a meeting anyway. And so, I'm looking at taking it I think it's the 20 the 20th. It's on a Tuesday. So, it's the third the third Monday is when I'm plan on taking for appointments. So, we'll be holding interviews um the first or second the first week. I'm trying to try to get them all scheduled this week um for the first week of January so we can hold interviews and then make our selections and then get it to Wendy for appointments on the 20th.

7:43 – 8:220

That'll be great because obviously we would not have a quorum. We would we'll still have a quorum. So there might be design review that comes in January, but that would be the only thing that we have on right now coming. Um, and we would have as long as I would just need to touch base with the three of you to make sure you were all going to be there because it wouldn't be worth going if only two of you because then we wouldn't have the quorum. So, as long as we have the three, we can do that. Okay. And then February, if I can get it on the appointment for the 20th, then we'd be able to start, they'd start their first planning commission meeting on the first Tuesday of February. Okay, perfect. Awesome. That's all I have.

8:20 – 8:440

Okay. Well, if there is nothing else, the chair asks for a motion to adjourn this meeting. I move to adjurnn. All second. All approved. I Any opposed? Hear hearing no objections. This meeting is now adjourned. Thank you everybody.
