it's an exciting time in the town of Leeland as we continue welcome new residents new businesses and new opportunities to better serve our community with growth comes opportunity opportunity to enhance our community invest in our future and ensure the safety and well-being of everyone who calls Leland home that's why our proposed budget for the upcoming year is Guided by the priorities in our recently adopted strategic plan because of budget isn't just numbers it's about making life better for you this budget underscores the town's commitment to our strategic priority areas Safe Community resilient highquality infrastructure and environment communication and engagement organizational excellence and business and neighborhood enhancement all with no change to the current tax rate Public Safety is a top priority this budget adds new fire captains engineers and police positions plus new emergency vehicles and upgraded technology to ensure faster response times and a safer Community we're continuing our 20-year life cycle plan to improve roads across Leland resurfacing 5% every year so you'll see smoother safer roads throughout our town and we're investing in the future with infrastructure improvements emergency preparedness funds and brand new tools to keep you connected and informed this budget isn't just about today it's about making sure Leland remains a vibrant safe and thriving place for years to come together we can make the town of Leland an even better place to call home so let's move forward together for our community for our families and for our future
