Effluent tee filter
Requirement: The outlet pipe of each septic tank shall have a replaceable effluent filter. Request: Consideration of approval of a waiver from this regulation Justification: The manufacturer of the Presby Enviro Septic system states that in a gravity configuration, an effluent tee filter should not be used. The reason is that the filter hinders airflow from the low vent, through the system and up through the building sewer vent on top of the house. The Presby system highlights adequate airflow for treatment of wastewater. A two-compartment tank is proposed.
310 CMR 15.405 (1) (j)
Requirement: 12" separation between the inlet and outlet inverts of the septic tank to the estimated high groundwater table. Request: Consideration of approval of reduction from inlet and outlet inverts of the septic tank from 12" to as close as ~3". Justification: Per 310 CMR 15.405 (1) (j) all boots or pipe joints to be sealed with hydraulic cement or installed with watertight sleeves and the tank is to be proven watertight.
5:25 PM-81 Peabody Drive- Innovative Septic Design-Proposed Septic Plan
On behalf of the owners of 81 Peabody Drive, Innovative Septic Design would like to request approval of a 2-foot groundwater offset reduction via an I/A remedial use approval letter in regard to the septic plan with the most recent revision date of 8/28/2026. The request is detailed in the DEP(Department of Environmental Protection) letter submitted.
