It is recommended the City Council proclaim September 15 through October 15, 2026 as National Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of La Mirada and present a proclamation to John Gutierrez.

INTRODUCTION OF A NEW FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE

It is recommended the City Council welcome Devonne Leyva and Ivan Sierra and present them each with a $40 gift certificate to Panera Bread restaurant, a voucher for two tickets to the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, and two passes to Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center.

LA MIRADA SYMPHONY FUNDING REQUEST FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026-27

It is recommended the City Council approve La Mirada Symphony’s Fiscal Year 2026-27 funding request in the amount of $10,000 for direct funding and an in-kind contribution of $35,000 for a total of $45,000.

PHANTOM PROJECTS FUNDING REQUEST FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026-27

It is recommended the City Council approve Phantom Projects’ Fiscal Year 2026-27 in-kind funding request in the amount of $202,720.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2022-05, SPLASH! LA MIRADA POOL DECK RENOVATION, PHASE 1 – AWARD OF CONTRACT

It is recommended the City Council award the contract for Capital Improvement Project No. 2022-05, Splash! La Mirada Pool Deck Renovation Project, Phase 1 to California Waters Development Inc. dba California Waters in the amount of $1,317,968; authorize the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City; authorize the City Manager to approve amendments to the on-call consulting services agreements for construction support services in an amount not to exceed 20 percent of the construction cost; and authorize the City Manager to approve additional work up to 20 percent of the construction contract cost.

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS•Item 8.1

RESOLUTION NO. 26-26 APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTION OF ROSECRANS AVENUE AND STANTON AVENUE

It is recommended the City Council adopt Resolution No. 26-26 approving the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and Stanton Avenue.

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS•Item 8.2

RESOLUTION NO. 26-27 APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF RED CURBS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FOSTER ROAD EAST AND WEST OF CLEARWOOD AVENUE

It is recommended the City Council adopt Resolution No. 26-27 approving the installation of a 20-foot red curb on westbound Foster Road approaching Clearwood Avenue and a 10-foot red curb on westbound Foster Road west of the yellow school crosswalk at Clearwood Avenue.

RESOLUTION NO. 26-28 WAIVING THE FORMAL BID PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 2027 FORD F-650 DIESEL TRUCK WITH A SERVICE BODY UPFIT

It is recommended the City Council adopt Resolution No. 26-28 waiving the formal bid process and authorizing the purchase of one 2027 Ford F-650 diesel truck with a service body upfit in the amount of $137,488.12.

It is recommended the City Council adopt Resolution No. 26-29 amending the City of La Mirada Conflict of Interest Code for designated personnel.
