All right, they'll come off. Um, well, there they are. All right, good morning everyone. Welcome to the board of public works meeting for February 19th, 2026. It is 10:00 and we will begin with our pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Thank you. Let the record show this meeting is being live streamed by under production multimedia. We have all of our board members present today. So, we do have a quorum. We have our clerk treasurer Donna Kumer and our attorney Harry McCall with us. I need to make one amendment actually two amendments to the agenda. I have an additional claim that I need to read in when we do our claims from the shirt lady and I also need to add item E under new business to say River City Yacht Club. This is a band, not a club. Um I need a motion to approve the uh amended agenda. I'll make a motion. Motion by Thompson, second by Maggie Wild. Any additions, others or questions? All in favor say I.
I. That is unanimous. So we have our standing business which includes our meeting minutes from February 5th. Our current claims has provided and also a claim for t-shirts for our work crew in the amount of $830 to the shirt lady and our payroll allowance socket from February 2nd to February 8th. Need a motion to approve those items. I'll make that motion. Maggie Wild makes the motion. Second. Ernie Thompson second. Any questions? All in favor say I. I. I. a chance. If we can get her a check today, she will get those shirts. Okay.
Um, all right. Moving on through to new business. It is It is a parks show today. Um, so who is presenting these items? Hannah. Um, up first we have our Charles Town Ensembles event. So, I have a lot to say. Good morning, you guys. Morning. Um, so first we have Ensemble music showcase on April 17th. Um they will just be utilizing the arts and enrichment building. They don't require anything out of us, just use of the building, but they gave us a contract anyways just to make sure ran through the process. Um it'll be a showcase of their acquired. So So it's kind of a joint sponsorship, but they're not we're not paying them any money. Okay. And we're not handling any money this time. No.
Okay. So do we have a motion to approve that joint venture at no charge to us? Motion by Ernie Thompson, second by Maggie Wild. Any questions? All in favor say I. I. That is unanimous.
Um my next item is the gamer's truck. That will be $1,100 for Founders Day on June 20th. We've used them in the past and they seem to be a pretty big hit among our children, some teenagers. Um our only requirement aside from the $1,100, we will provide electricity and overnight security since they will have to come in a day ahead of time. That's typical for them just as a public safety so that way they're not rolling the truck in while we have the community out there. Um, and it's typical that we have officers sit out there overnight anyways. So, okay. So, they're rolling in on Friday or Thursday? It'll be Friday night and they'll be there for Saturday.
Okay. And we have their certificate of liability insurance here. Making sure it's got May cross through May cross. Um, making sure the dates are. It's through October 2026, I believe. Yep. So, you're good on the dates and we have a W9. Okay. Looks like everything is in the order. Do we have a motion to approve? I'll make that motion. Maggie B makes the motion. Ernie Thompson seconds. All in favor say I. I. That is unanimous.
Um, this third item that I have here, um, it is going to be a mind readading show on June 17th. That's going to replace our typical murder mystery dinner. We will have a dinner at that. I'm working on that contract. Now, this is just for the entertainment portion with Chance Mystic Entertainment. Um, his flat rate is $850. So, we will sell tickets to cover the cost of that. Okay. So, it's similar to the mer dinner theater we've done, but it's a different Yes. Okay. Um, and we have, let's see, there's the contract.
He's a single employee, so doesn't have doesn't have any other employees and we have to be in order. Um to be clear on this one, just for the matter of public record, the man who runs this happens to be in a relationship with my sister. So, I will be abstaining from this vote. Um, just I'm going to abstain just to avoid just to avoid any um any uh Yeah, I'm just going to abstain. So, this will be just you guys. So, I need a motion to approve. We'll all abstain. I'll make a motion.
Motion made by Ernie Thompson, second by Maggie Wild. All in favor? And I abstain. Sorry.
No worries. All right. Um, the last item that I have, it is our annual science camp. I think we've been doing the past couple years with Mr. Daniel Dietrich. Um he will be using the family activities park from June 8th to June 12th um from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The camp is for children of ages K through five and the cost is going to be $175 per camper. We've not previously charged a facility fee from him, but this year with all the budget cuts and stuff, we kind of we just have to since we'll be out money those days. Um, so we will be taking $25 per camper and the remaining $150 per camper will go back to Dino Dietrich.
We get a motion to approve. I'll make that motion. Motion by Maggie Wild. Second Thompson. All in favor say I. I. That is unanimous. Thank you. And then you have who has River should have just gave it the hand. Good morning. Good morning.
So, this one came in last minute. That's kind of why we're reading it in. Uh Robbie Davidson, you know, he does all of our bands for us. So, he's now working on our music in the parks since we have founders done. This will be for July 10th, which I think you have a car show. Um so, they're we've never heard of them before. We did look them up yesterday. They look really good. They're River City Yacht Club. So, I do have the contract for them that Perry has wrote for us. It's the same contract we always use, their W9 and their insurance waiver. and also an invoice attached that will be $1,100. And we pay that of like summer entertainment. Yeah. Y All right. Do we have a motion to approve? I'll make that motion. Maggie makes the motion. Thompson seconds. All in favor say I. I.
I. That is unan. And I will give this all to Lacy. That's her copy. Thank you. All right. I think that is all I have. I'm just going to make sure we sign what Donna needs. And Perry, do you have anything that we needed to address? No, I don't think so. You guys pretty much are the entertainment. All right, Brian, I need to see you. Um, need a motion to adjurnn. I'll make that motion. Motion by second. All in favor say I. I. I. character.
