City Council - Regular Meeting

Well, that would have been interesting.

[clears throat] Good evening. We're going to call our committee meetings to order this evening. And uh we have a a guest here tonight. Uh Judge Dolick from the Par Municipal Court is going to swear council in tonight as a whole. So everybody step down to the front here. I already am.

Hi guys. Guys, please because of the S or because [laughter] [clears throat] everybody ready? First, let me thank Mayor H for inviting me for this honor to swear you in on your new term. And I wish all of the elected officials and this council for a very successful council term. So, if you'll raise your right hand and repeat repeat after me, please. I and state your name. do solemnly swear do solemnly swear that I will support and uphold that I will support and uphold the Constitution of the United States the Constitution of the United States the

Constitution of the State of Ohio the Constitution of the State of Ohio the charter and the ordinances the charter and ordinances and resolutions and resolutions the city of 7 Hills Ohio the city of Seven Hills Ohio and that I will faithfully faithfully honestly honestly and impartially and impartially discharge the duties discharge duties as council person as council person of the city of seven hills of the city of seven hills state of Ohio state of Ohio during my continuence in said term during my said term congratulations [applause]

Okay. So, we're going to continue with our committee uh reports. Uh first committee is community services council person. I mean, uh, Council Person Kelly. Thank you, Mr. President. I have nothing in my folder this evening. Uh, Director Tony Terry, do you have any comments for us this evening? I do. Thank you, Councilwoman.

Um, many of you know we have been operating our U tide adopt a family program for less fortunate residents, underserved residents in the city of Seven Hills. I am proud to say that we have delivered or uh had set for pickup meals for 32 different families and 28 different children. So I would just like to thank this council who uh many of and most of have helped in one way or another uh as well as this administration and all of our residents. It's great when we have the opportunity to make life better for others and I want to thank everybody for doing their part. Um, beyond that, I want to wish everybody a happy new year and a merry Christmas. And that's all I have.

Thank you, director. By the way, I did want to mention I opened up our meeting at 6:03 p.m. Are there any comments from our committee members, other members of council? Council chair, council prom, please. Uh, director Tony Terry, thank you so much for putting all these events on. Um, it's truly rewarding to be able to give back as a city and I'm very proud of the people I sit up here with that have have done that work as well, too. But thank you. Thank you.

I'd like to say, Director Terry, thank you for your dedication, never giving up. I know you reached out on social media and a lot of our residents, [clears throat] excuse me, and city folks really turned up and they really they made Christmas very nice for a lot of folks. It's a uh yearly pass through. It's to for our department to use the Parma Jail for arrest. Um, Chief, you want to speak briefly on it? It's not uh Yes. Every year we use a couple jails. Parma is one of the main ones. So, this is the annual contract uh just to approve. I'm just requesting it's on emergency so we read it next time not to have any uh interruption in the uh service. Thank you. Correct. And it's $225 per day. Is it that That's correct. Yeah. Same as last year.

They raised it a little bit, but that's kind of right in the ballpark of the going rate. Right. Okay. Um members of my committee, my new committee member, Councilman Kelly, anything? No. Nothing.
